  1. True. If I'm Dave Tepper, why make matters worse by confirming the firing of Matt Rhule when games still have to be played? Especially, when there is no obvious replacement to close out the season. While the situation may not look good at the moment, don't lose all hope until Black Monday. After that, if Matt Rhule is officially retained, Panthers fans are officially cleared hot to lose their poo.
  2. Some of the notable personalities who are no longer with us:
  3. Another reason why Rhule has to go and Fitterer is at best suspect. Hopefully, Fitterer provided some sort of pushback to Rhule before drafting yet another WR instead of addressing the O-line.
  4. JR still gets a lot of grief and in some cases deservedly so for his time as the Panthers owner. None-the-less, Tepper, in four years has somehow managed to make me nostalgic for Jerry. What a nightmare! Is this franchise cursed?
  5. Watson would have to be an idiot to agree to be traded to Carolina based on Tepper's record of ownership decisions so far. Granted, there is a good chance that Watson is an idiot.
  6. I've been a supporter of pro-football in Charlotte before there was even an NFL franchise twinkle in JRs eye. I go way back to being a fan of the WFL Hornets in the 1970s. Yes, JR was far from perfect, but there was no doubt he was dedicated to the Panthers fielding a competitive team. JR's downfall was Hurney and unbelievably, Tepper fell into the same trap. Not sure what Tepper believes he is doing, holding on to someone like Matt Rhule, undoubtably the worst head coach in this franchise's history. Rhule is in way over his head. If Tepper has been paying any attention whatsoever, it shouldn't require a third season to determine Rhule IS the problem, not the solution.
  7. If rumors in the media are true, Rhule will be back again next year. So, until Tepper decides to start taking his ownership responsibilities more seriously, I'll be pressing the pause button on the Panthers. Plenty of NFL action to enjoy without getting caught up with the misery and dysfunction that the Panthers have wallowed in under Matt Rhule and David "T-Man" Tepper. A franchise record 4 consecutive losing seasons and counting. T-Man is officially going on my Panthers Wall of Shame if he doesn't find a new HC for 2022.
  8. If this horrifying glimpse into the future turns out to be accurate, count me out. Life is too short and I'm not going to continue to support a dysfunctional football franchise controlled by a man with such terrible judgement (w/a life expectancy that will allow him to keep screwing things up for decades to come).
  9. Yeah it did seem strange at first, then as Rhule's second season progressed, Teddy's parting comments started to resonate/ring true. TB was a fully developed NFL QB by the time he arrived in Charlotte and (unbeknownst to fans) likely overcame many of the shortcomings of this coaching staff. Sam Darnold simply isn't capable of doing that. Cam arrived at the 11th hour and there is only so much any QB could do after the Panthers offensive weaknesses were fully exposed to our opponents.
  10. Exactly. Believing there is someway to finesse this situation with Rhule, take away his power/authority, in essence demote him, and not have Matt lose all his credibility within the organization is a pipe dream.
  11. I don't know that there are many, if any, sports reporters that would be willing to write this article and expect to remain on friendly terms w/the Panthers organization. That is, unless someone within the Panthers organization has encouraged Person to write/publish it. If that is the case, it may indicate the Panthers public relations people are laying the groundwork for a decision that has already been made, Rhule's firing.
  12. Haha, yeah did Rhule really believe such a statement was going to endear him to... anyone?
  13. Darnold's 5th year shouldn't be enough to stop Tepper from firing Rhule. It should be yet another reason to fire Rhule. Matt has become a human wrecking ball, intent on destroying the hopes and dreams of all Panthers fans with his idiotic and costly decisions.
  14. It is safe to assume this will be the basis of all of Matt's decisions going forward. That is why he needs to be fired one week from this Sunday when the Panthers season ends. Matt's short term interests no longer align with the long term interests of this franchise.
  15. Based on what we've witnessed these last two years I seriously doubt there is anyone in the building qualified to draft the Panthers next QB. Tepper needs to do a clean sweep.
  16. At this point, I consider Robby a paid mouthpiece for Matt Rhule. Anderson's gameday performance certainly doesn't justify his new contract. In fact, if anything, Robby's contract is another example of why Rhule needs to be fired one week from Sunday.
  17. I'd like to believe Dave Tepper has learned a lot about the pro game during these last two years and wouldn't make the same mistake twice when it comes to hiring a head coach. The next few weeks will tell the tale. If Dave fires Matt at season's end, hope will be renewed. If not, Panthers fans will likely have years of misery and failure ahead of them. TL/DR: Life is way too short to support a dysfunctional franchise.
  18. Exactly. Not sure there is anything to be gained by announcing Matt's firing prior to the end of the season.
  19. Damning evidence for anyone that still holds out hope of Dave Tepper being a decent owner.
  20. When it comes to hedge funds Tep is definitely very knowledgeable, among the very best. Picking NFL coaches and GMs? Not so much.
