David Tepper is apparently too chicken poo to face the press in person and explain why he's keeping the WORST coach in the team's history. After TWO seasons of only 5 wins each Rhule is being retained for a season 3. No other Panthers coach with a record of 5 wins or less has ever been retained for an additional season. Tepper has done it twice. Houston, we have an ownership problem.

In only 4 years, Dave Tepper has done what many thought to be impossible in one man's lifetime: He's made Jerry Richardson look like a good owner.

It's worse than a coaching problem. It's an ownership problem. Good luck fixing that.

Panthers: Coaching is the symptom. Ownership is the disease.

As an owner, Tepper has lost his way and is grasping at straws in hopes of salvaging a lost cause (Matt Rhule).

At this point I'm no longer mad at Sam or Matt, this is all on Tepper's shoulders. Dave needs to face reality: Matt Rhule isn't close to figuring the NFL out, neither is Snow. Bring in a competent, successful, proven NFL executive leader like Kevin Colbert and allow him to recreate what he's done in Pittsburgh. Enough of trying to recreate the wheel with NFL novices like Matt Rhule.

Panther fans can't see it. The players can't see it. The score keeper can't see it. The game officials can't see it. The win column can't see it. The record books can't see it. Somehow Dave Tepper thinks he sees it, because Matt "Svengali" Rhule says to trust him "It's Happening". Who knew Dave Tepper was so gullible when it came to football coaches and GMs?

But, "Matt Rhule is building a culture."

First Mistake: Instead of firing Marty "total of 3 winning seasons" Hurney and bringing in a top shelf GM to lead in a rebuild, Dave "Wrong Way" Tepper allows Marty to help select the Panthers next head coach. Second Mistake: The very next year, Dave "Wrong Way" Tepper fires Hurney as GM and lets Matt Rhule choose his own GM. Since Rhule has final say on all football decisions, no potential top shelf GM wants to come to Carolina. Instead, Panthers chose someone from an organization in clear decline. Third Mistake: After two historically bad seasons (the sort of W/L record that resulted in the termination of all previous Panthers HCs) Dave "Wrong Way" Tepper chooses to double down on Rhule, rather than admit his mistake and fire the guy. The search now begins for an NFL experienced OC that will presumably take direction from an unsuccessful, NFL novice HC. TL/DR: Why does Dave "Wrong Way" Tepper continue to try and wag the dog by the tail?

This. As long as Rhule has the final say on how this team is run, "Wrong Way" Tepper is doing nothing more than rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Keeping Matt Rhule for a third year will make it official: Tepper IS the WORST owner in Panthers history.

This article has to be Newton's failed attempt at satire. Right? There is simply no way to misinterpret jeers of "FIRE RHULE" for cheers. This spin is like something you'd expect to read out of PRAVDA during the Cold War.

Rhule is gonna mortgage the Panthers future for years to come if he gets a third season. All to prove he knows what he's doing (he doesn't). Tepper is going to let this happen to avoid having to admit he made a huge and foolish decision bringing in NFL novices like Matt and his staff. Dave Tepper has driven this franchise into a ditch with his coaching/GM decisions.

Rhule is simply in over his head at the NFL level. Matt isn't going to magically "get it" if he is given a third season to "figure it out". Until Matt Rhule is fired (this year or next) I'll be finding better things to do with my Sunday afternoons.

Tepper can't be THAT stupid. OR is he? IF Rhule still has a job after Monday, the answer is: Yes, Dave IS that stupid.

Matt Rhule: Hmm, my next starting QB. I can fix him! My Dad is a TV repairman and has an awesome set of tools!

Great Actor. Dignified. We would all do well to emulate him.

Both are Matts and are alumni of Penn State. Plus, based on his stint as Lions GM, I'd say Millen is a horrible judge of talent. So there's that.

Can't believe Tepper actually listened to Marty Hurney's advice for three years. Marty fugin' Hurney! A GM whose biggest claim to fame was a grand total of 3 winning seasons in 15 years! I have to believe Tepper did zero research on the history of the Panthers organization prior to taking ownership. Probably did zero research on the Steelers organization as well. Between Tepper's opinions of Hurney and Tomlin, there is only one conclusion to be drawn: Dave is a terrible judge of football talent. Possibly the worst Panthers fans have ever known. How else would you explain Tepper taking three years before he finally fired Marty? Bonus Material: Matt Rhule's contract/Matt Rhule is still employed

I just assumed that's what he has been doing all along. I mean, look at the results so far. Tepper can't be paying experienced professionals and getting this sort of results, can he? Dave is due a refund if he is.

Meh, Bucs can bring their best, it won't matter. Rhule has a plan, a process if you will, that's 1000 percent working. He knows it, I know it, you know it! We just can't see it. Matt, Jay-Z's brother by another mother, has got this WIN in the bag!
