  1. I hope he is - and if he is I would expect he would agree - take one of the top 3 LT's if they are available and never doubt it
  2. 1 still falls into the category of "very few"
  3. Very few people "in the building" have shown they know how to evaluate OLine talent given the 6-7 seasons - look at the money wasted and lack of production. If he is then great, it gives you a perceived flexibility in the draft - not proven - still a big risk. But even if he is capable he is already a versatile guy who can play other positions - and given how shallow our OLine skills are the best option is probably still to take the best LT available and have an inexpensive, high performing OLine for 3-4 more years.
  4. Trade down for a HUGE haul....easily 1-2 first round picks and maybe more for those top EDGE rushers....setup next year for the big splash
  5. IMO if Neal, Ekwonu, Cross, Hutchinson, or Thibodeaux are there at 6 you take them and never look back (in this order). But that is what I think we SHOULD do.... I am afraid they are overvaluing QB's and will take Pickett or Willis at 6....but I don't think we should. If the 5 above are gone we SHOULD trade back and grab at least a 2nd round pick since OL is fairly deep this year and taking a QB at 6 is too high for this class given next year's current view
  6. I would change this to drafting a QB @ #6....if we trade down and take Willis I am happy with it assuming we missed the top LT's
  7. I only think it hurts our chances at a vet QB (none of which seem like a great idea except Minshew IMO) - neither Seattle nor Indy have a 1st RD pick this year so if anything it takes a little pressure off us to reach and better opens the possibility of trading down.
  8. Exactly - the "Yes" "No" isn't enough options to clearly vote your opinion. I would love to get Watson - if his legal stuff was gone - and we had a stable coaching staff and OLine - and he didn't cost 3 years worth of talent lol.
  9. Based on the last few years and our current roster this has to be an option being discussed. Big thing if they did this would be future draft picks and smart signings/draft in 2022. We shouldn't trade for many 2022 draft picks in a weak class for key positions we would need (QB, RB, DT, Interior OL)...we have too many holes that this draft won't fill long term and free agency doesn't have available. And don't overspend on 28+ yr old vets since we know we won't compete for 2 years. If we blow it up we take a hit for the 2022-23 seasons and pile up for 2023 & 2024 drafts under new coaching - no half way. Honestly given the players in FA and this draft as much as I hate to see Moore, CMC, Robby, Jackson go - it may be the only way we avoid 4-5 years of mediocrity.
  10. I am 100% for Minshew - one big issue I felt like Darnold had was a lack of leadership and confidence - he never looked like he was in charge of that offense on the field. Minshew did not appear to have that issue...low cost - decent potential - and we still upgrade the line in the draft? Worst case scenario we still get a good draft pick in 2022 and we don't sacrifice picks like we might he we go after some of these other vet QB's. Sounds like best case for us right now to me
  11. This makes no sense at all to me - PJ for Poeltl straight up maybe.....by why would we give up anything else? Poeltl is not an upgrade over PJ except his position....maybe PJ and some cash.....
  12. Every snap of every game - I have seen Sam get the ball slapped out of his hand from behind at least 3 times standing in the pocket....sacked from behind standing in the pocket.... He has been great but that is the one thing I have seen repeatedly. Just saying his awareness needs to improve and he could be even better
  13. Pretty ridiculous to say our OLine has been awful when our offense is 13th in the league - passing game top 10. Sam has barely moved outside the pocket and been without McCaffrey for basically 2 games - and our run game is still 16th? That doesn't happen with an awful OLine. You are giving WAY too much credit to Sam - the OLine is by far our biggest problem on offense but they aren't awful. We have had much worse for the last few years.
  14. I'm not talking about the quick blitz sacks, I'm talking about the sacks and pressure that take 3-4 seconds to develop. You have very few times that Sam steps away from the defenders around him whether it is in front, behind, or beside. The majority of the pressure he sees is defenders getting pushed outside and curling back from behind him - if he steps up or aside depending on the rush he can avoid and buy time or even run for a few.
  15. Biggest thing I have seen from Darnold is his lack of pocket awareness - his is very poor at stepping up and feeling the rush around him. he has been extremely lucky not to have more fumbles lost. Our line has been just OK in pass protection at times but Sam can do more to help it. But I agree we seem to get outcoached at the half and struggle to adjust. In fairness this past week one of those picks was Diggs making a great route jump and Darnold thought he could get it there faster - mistake but not one other guys wouldn't make. The first pick was a bad but could be learned from
  16. Went to a customer already - we sell box breaks
  17. We just pulled an Ian Thomas on-card autograph out of 2021 Immaculate Collegiate last night....being in his college uniform it took me a minute to realize he is a Panther LOL
  18. Honestly said the same thing to my colleague this morning - very disappointing performance by our line overall but not unexpected.
  19. Assists - I don't think it will be just Ish Smith making that up. I believe we will see Rozier with minutes at PG just like we have the last 2 years...now with Oubre it is even more likely as he is very much a SG more than PG. But don't miss Bouknight in this role also - the kid has nice handles. Rozier can be streaky so I wouldn't be shocked to see Book running the second unit a bit. Bench Scoring - absolutely I expect Ish/Book/Oubre/PJ to be as good or better than Graham/Monk/Martin/PJ....should be much more consistency in scoring with 2 SCORERS instead of 2 JUMP SHOOTERS. Ish won't have any pressure to score with those guys on the floor. Low Post - PJ at center is a bad joke to me - he is just too small for that in the NBA. Not to mention on offense it takes him out of his game which is the 3-4 stretch game. Miles has a much better game/frame for backup center but even he is too short against actual PF/C's. I think our low post will be the Mason/Kai/Vernon/McDaniels/Richards show. So much there....I only replied to the first section...
  20. So far I am sold on the upgrade in leadership - bad draft scouting and lottery luck have sunk this franchise for decades. If these picks look good it will be more than just luck.
  21. For the first time in how many years we can say we ACTUALLY have a 2nd unit - Smith-Bouknight-Oubre-PJ/Miles-Kai. If this team doesn't make a run it will not be because ownership didn't make some great moves to build a solid roster. First time, at least in a looooong time, I can remember ever making this kind of long term play to build around a guy to become legit....I'm loving this.
  22. Just using the PB's as an example - agree with most of that just saying they never had longevity or the success I expect from Horn. I liked Gamble and agree his was under-rated - but I don't think he was ever on the level of Revis, Sherman, Ramsey, etc... which is what I hope Horn gets to
