  1. Full control will be a big deal but lets say they can get past that. I have concerns with the rumors of him losing the team is last season ( or two? ) in SF. Being the hardass coach works while you can win but when the wheels fall off they really fall off. It is a risk. I don't know how true that stuff was or if it was just team fed media stuff to make them look better. That was an ugly breakup.
  2. I think a perspective some may be missing in this whole offense vs defense coach thing is age. I think its possible that a young DS also understands the new NFL and what it takes to win in it. It would be hard to imagine Ryan bringing in some dinosaur NFL offensive coordinator, especially taking a look at who he has been exposed to on that side of the ball. It is true a good OC will probably get HC consideration and we could lose out that way....but we have all also seen that personally with the DC too. Going from McDermott to Wilks was a step back and then from Wilks to Eric Washington ( and in a round about way Holcomb ) were big drops.
  3. It has been said before but I think it holds true. Rivera was a more likeable John Fox, Fox 2.0. Wilks seems to be Rivera 1.1. I think just as fans we want NFL experienced coaching that brings something new. We are desperate for it. Probably what got us excited for Rhule in the first place.
  4. Who knows what Panthers team will show up? Will the defense stay stout with out Jaycee? Everyone and their mama is going to be looking for the run can this team run into the teeth of the defense or can the passing attack make them pay? I think now more then ever the season hinges on Brian Burns. We need pressure pressure pressure. Without blitzing. Panthers win : 20-14
  5. I am praying this comes down to being able to utilize him in the system well and not relying on him to make a bunch of plays and be glued to #1s down the field.
  6. Sometimes sticking with a guy pays off. Shows him you believe and lets the locker room know you got their backs. It is a risk but in a season like this it was worth it. You either gain all the positives or cut him the next week.
  7. I mean all I'm saying is he has to over come his fatal flaw. Right now in the limited time we've seen him, it looks like he has. He has some important games coming up where he cannot be the reason we lose and at some point I am sure he is going to have to bring us back from being down a score or two, if the rest of the team is clicking can he do it? To me that will be the sign. Anyways Darnold is trending up, you gotta have a little hater in you not to see that.
  8. Got no problem with Baker. Glad he landed in a place they can use him. Our system doesn't seem that flexible.
  9. I won't lie, I've always liked Darnold so I have a bit of a slant there. I did think he was only worth being a back up QB after last season. Darnold had one major flaw, he even famously said it himself, seeing ghosts. The one thing I have seen so far from him is that is not the case. He has protection and even when it break down he steps into the throw and the hit that is coming and delivers the ball. If he can keep that up he has all the physical talent in the world to be a starting QB in the NFL.
  10. Matt Ryan is super over rated. All he needed was Julio, Roddy White, Michael Turner, Tony Gonzalez, Devonta Freeman, Harry Douglas, Tevin Coleman, Calvin Ridley and Kyle Shannahan. LOL.
  11. Does this guy do anything good on ST? That could be his saving grace if the cap hit is low next year. Year 3 is usually it for DL to show up.
  12. Get it done Fitt ASAP, cannot let guys like this walk out the door. Its too hard to build a quality O line. fug pay him above that to secure him IDGAF.
  13. This would be my choice as well. We need to have some QB development here. Jake was the last QB I can remember on this team getting better as time went on. Cam was the guy from day 1, they didn't even try to develop him, he was that good. Other then that no one grew, how they looked when they got here is how they look when they left.
  14. He is in the perfect spot for a rookie QB. Strong team, coaching that can maximize his strengths and hide his weaknesses. Not discounting him, he seems to have an intangible that others may not. These last few weeks will be interesting as teams figure out the scheme with him in.
  15. LOL you could have just informed me about a piece of information I didn't know about instead of being insulting. Do you though. Dick.
  16. Dumb he didn't start right away and kinda dumb his contract wasn't longer term for the get go.
  17. Keep pounding! Always baby! Add 1 more division championship up there!
  18. If you know anyone with a .EDU email you can get Sunday Ticket for $120.00 for the season. This is my first year doing it and its better then the illegal streams, plus you get redzone.
  19. This MFer still out here politicking so he doesn't get the blame. What a loser.
  20. Not really sure what you want me to say. He managed the game, didn't throw an interception. It is a conservative offense that opens up occasionally and he made it work. Like....what is the bar for good to you? Has to be 300+ and 3 TD?
  21. Okay, well if you didn't see the difference between Darnold out there vs Baker and PJ I don't know what to tell you. Maybe he will start throwing bone headed ints consistently again but as of now that was good QB play. Not elite, not franchise but good.
  22. I like him but we have games that mean something left to play and now it appears we have a QB who can actually play. A lot hangs on these last games and even then I would hope options are explored to make sure we get the best fit for the future. If he stays I think there has to be some shake up on the staff. We need to get an OC and a QB coach in here who can help develop the QB or get the system working for the QB. If this team goes out and gets an offensive minded head coach they better damn sure KNOW he can be a head coach and not just an X and Os guy.
