Well based on how the season started....this is awesome. We get to watch actual meaningful football into December! Let's hope they run the table or if not the cards fall in their favor. A home playoff game in Charlotte would be awesome and, imo, would help a lot by giving this young roster a taste of the excitement/pressure of a playoff game.

Panthers sign CB to replace Donte Jackson
PanthersGTI replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
A position we will need to address in the offseason. Can't count on Donte coming back 100%. Sucks. -
And Nebraska is going to be The Toughest, Hardest Working, Most Competitive Team in the college football! hahaha

Who gives a fug? We all experts on construction, contracts, litigation, government funding, local politics, MBAs etc... now? Just hire the right fuging coach and lets go, only thing that should matter to the fans.

Can someone correct me if I am wrong as well, didn't Tepper balk at the idea of paying Watson a fully guaranteed contract as well?
-
I think these are two different things. Wilson played great football before this year. He is just washed and the system in Seattle helped him. His attitude/personality seems to be the biggest rub before he fell off a cliff. I'd imagine he is looking for the same physical/football traits Wilson had and maybe hoping for a more normal person.

If my thinking is correct Corrall falls under this too. Last draft seemed to be more Fitt in the mix vs all Rhule. Fitt did say we will swing for QBs. Corrall has that great release, has good movement outside of the pocket and can deliver off platform and they ran RPO at whatever college he went to. He's got a type.
-
Fully guaranteed contract scares me. With any QB but especially one whos game is predicated on his escapeability and running.
-
If his foot heals I still like the kid. That release is elite and I think the intangibles are there. He should get his fair shot for sure, hopefully the next coaching staff can develop him the right way, mainly throwing with sound feet and processing the defense. Its going to be him vs a Rookie vs a Vet so he has his work cutout for him.

Brugler: Next year's quarterbacks "not universally loved"
PanthersGTI replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean we are going to get a QB. Fitt has been pretty vocal on always taking QBs because you don't know when you'll hit on one or when you'll need one. We will probably have Corrall, A Vet, 1 early draft pick and 1 late draft pick at QB to start camp if I had to guess. -
I don't even think you can predict these things. It could be 1 season, 2 season or 5 until it works. There are too many variables. I will say the baseline of talent is not the worst and they are young so its helpful on that front.

Derrick Brown is really starting to dominate
PanthersGTI replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
He edited the subject. It was originally "derrick brown is really tarting to dominate". Really screwed up my joke. -

Derrick Brown is having ANUSTART -
We didn't need to replace CMC. We have guys who they believe can play. Plus if I read it right the 9ers picks are all on 2023 right? Where as it is split between 2023 and 2024 for the Rams.
-
Maybe he still needs to get the playbook down? Can't be out there looking lost on defense.

Panthers are one game out of first place in the NFCS

Any given Sunday baby! -
Great move IMO. Refill the draft cupboard for the next coach and all they had to do was trade a RB who is replaceable at the end of the day. I wish we had McCaffery with a good offensive coordinator but his time here has been pretty much force feeding him the ball to the tune of 5 wins. It wasn't sustainable and now they have options next year. While I think CMC is awesome, he is not prime AD where you can run him all day to the playoffs no matter who your QB is.
-
I guess they really didn't trust him to throw the ball downfield at all. He probably would have thrown 5 picks if they let him. Plan seemed to be run the ball and be physical. Grind this game out until we get a QB back but you HAVE to let him throw once the other team knows all you are doing is playing at the LOS.
-
You keep the young defense. You keep the O-line starters. WRs, RBs, QBs are all open game.

I don't think we want Quinn. I mean if you look at his Falcons era it wasn't bad on the surface but after he lost Shannahan it all fell apart. Can Moore orchestrate an offense to that level. Plus the amount of sheer talent they had when they were posting winning records was crazy, it won't always be like that.

Sounds like Rhule ran padded practice on Thursday and Wilks moved it back to Wednesday.
