Say the Bears go QB at #1 and trade Justin Fields...
PanthersGTI replied to CamWhoaaCam's topic in Carolina Panthers
They also but Manning because he was injured and nearing the end of his career. They NEEDED a restart. If the Bear feel like the already NEED to move on from Fields rather then take the trade and surround him with talent.....that is NOT a good sign not matter how you try and spin it. -
Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
PanthersGTI replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Correct, just in this hypothetical it wouldn't make much sense. -

I am really confused, do people think teams trade what they think is a franchise QB for the chance at another franchise QB? While the first one is on his rookie deal? The Bears wanting to trade him should throw big flags for people. -
If the McCown rumors are true....he has a history and tight connection with Darnold.
-
Going to need a Vet. I would hope we take the cheaper of Brissett or Darnold, I am okay with either. I think an actual offensive coach will get something out of Sam, even if its just elevated manager, but I still think the kid can play.

If I was to attempt to read the tea leaves....I would suspect that Wilks not moving on from Holcomb to bring in someone with the Fangio 2 shell scheme played a big role. If they had the in depth discussion as a committee we are lead to believe I think at some point they zeroed in on this scheme currently being the most successful in the NFL and most adept at stopping modern offenses.

Behind the scenes of the coaching search
PanthersGTI replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why they have to do Moore like that lol? Outta nowhere. Thanks for posting this, very insightful. I like the Reich coming in with a real plan on player development. THAT is exciting. Outside of Campen I cannot remember the last time we felt like our staff could mold a young player all the way to potential. -

THE ATHLETIC: Potential cap casualties….
PanthersGTI replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shaq is probably going to stay. I'd imagine on a small extension like others have said. He is above average and at points can border on great. He is a/the leader on the defense and we are thin there anyways. I feel like you do what you can to keep him, don't start stripping good parts of our team. -
The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis
PanthersGTI replied to Your GFs favorite huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am about half way through the AR video and I'm liking what I hear. So far it sounds like footwork is the biggest issue. If Reich can help him fix that I like what I see. Seems to move around in the pocket well, goes through some reads. Kinda of reminds me of Cam a little, hot and cold on the fundamentals but even off his back foot/toes his arm can get the ball there. On that note footwork and consistency in throwing platform seem to be a BIG deal, so if he can't get that fixed it is going to lead to a lot of frustration. Still got 10 minutes left. -
Lets go! Just need to fill out the defensive side. I assume the OC is locked up but just waiting for the right time to make it official.

Can't wait to see Tysom Hill at QB over there.

Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral
PanthersGTI replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
Corral has 2 things going for him : That crazy quick release. Its noticeable to everyone. He seems to have some of that "It" factor or attitude to stay competitive. Reich has something to work with but he can't put all his eggs in that basket. -
Frank Reich's Intro Presser - Today, Noon EST
PanthersGTI replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know but I want Reich to yell " we're gonna punch em in the nuts!! " ( not that it seems like he ever would lol ( -

Yeah I don't know what I was expecting.....maybe I was hoping for something a little different. Not that I'm not excited about the hire. -

It's kinda of funny. He said what the players need to go is 1 - Get better everyday 2- Compete and help each other 3 - Compete against the competition This is basically what Rhule was saying ( get 1% better everyday, we will compete compete compete ) but it's all about actually being able to realize it. -
Report. Panthers pivoting from Shane Steichen
PanthersGTI replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't really get it. We could only interview him through Zoom until like yesterday. So we gave him the opportunity and he didn't nail it? What are they supposed to do, let other potential candidates sign elsewhere and HOPE that all of a sudden he does a complete 180 from his last meeting? If he didn't get it based on the interview he would have presumably had this week sometime we would probably have ended up with Wilks because Reich was going to get signed. I swear people can't think outside of their emotions. -

and I'm sure all these guys love fishing in Miami too lol -
I really like the sound of this. Reminds me a little of what Dan Campbell is doing in Detriot. Lets just get the guys who can coach in. I don't necessarily need to have worked with them before. I like that ownership is looking to hire the best and Reich seems more then open to not just hiring people he has been around.
-
IMO if anyone it will be Jacoby Brissett or we roll with Darnold as the vet and I wouldn't be too mad either way.
-
Do you trust Reich to find us (and develop) a franchise QB?
PanthersGTI replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
He seemed to get the most out of Wentz. I don't know if he was the one who wanted to draft him or not. I think we go in with Darnold, Corrall and a rookie and let them fight it out. Maybe Replace Darnold with Brissett. -
We've come to some posters using age and if he can last MORE then 10 years as determining factors for the hire.....WOW.
-
Those are much better names then Roman IMO. From what I understand with Roman is the run game is good but he can't develop a passing game ( google RG3 remarks regarding this ). Staley would be interesting if he learned a lot from Ben Johnson while there.
-
No Roman please. I get a distinctly average feeling from him. Very Ben Macadooish. Any word on how the interview with Evero interview went or if there will be a 2nd? Based on what I am seeing now for me It's 1) Reich 2) Evero
