David Newton's "cryptic" comment got me to thinkin

Hopefully he learned and let's his assistants have more say in the offense since he has assembled what looks to be a really good staff. As you mentioned, time will tell -

The Oregon offense masked the potential of Herbert, and as you stated, it caused reservations with many people. I just wonder if that same Head Coach will do the same to Tyler Van Dyke at Miami this year. -
REPORT: Armstead is between Chicago, Miami, and Carolina.

Yep and hopefully having Nixon come back healthy along with ioannidis will give us the pass rush up the middle -

Not saying this is my preferred route, but just trying to touch on this angle as most others will hit up the Willis/Pickett/Howell talk. 1 - Sign a LT or LG with Brady manning the other to complete the Oline. 2 - Philly could have interest in help at CB. See if we can get Minshew by offering CJ Henderson. 3 - Draft Sauce Gardner with pick 6. Now you have a pair of stud CB's both on rookie deals which is huge for the salary cap. You get to see Minshew for a year. If he balls out you sign him to a contract that should still be a bargain for a QB in todays NFL. If Minshew isn't the answer, you draft your guy in the 2023 draft which could feature a few really good QB prospects. Having a young QB and two young CB's on low cost deals saves so much against the cap to allow you to build your team. -
100% agree! Not stuck with contract, Rhule probably gets canned next offseason, Brady will retire soon, Saints without Payton will tear it down soon, and Falcons just pissed off their franchise QB. We have young pieces and are making good moves. We have our picks and more money.

All in all this Watson situation worked out perfectly for our Panthers. We aren't stuck with that stupid contract the Browns just gave him, and we have a better chance of getting rid of Rhule next offseason. We have a team with young talent, and have pick 6 and future picks to continue to build this roster. We have made good acquisitions this offseason with some money left to potentially add more. Brady will win the division anyway until he finally retires. We continue to build until then. Saints just pushed even more money back again this offseason. We are all waiting for that to come crashing down, and it will happen. Dennis Payton is gone, and Allen is not a good HC. This team will soon tear down to rebuild and their fans will again wear paper bags. The Falcons just pissed off their Franchise QB whose contract is an albatross on a team lacking in talent. I do like their HC though. If we can find our franchise QB in the next couple years, we are in better position for post Brady success than the other teams in our division.

For a guy that still has 22 civil suits, missing a complete season, facing suspension, and everything that is involved in that situation, it amazes me that Watson could be so demanding on contract negotiations. He wasn't happy that teams still wanted him and that he already had a hefty contract, so he pitted 3 division rivals against each other in negotiations, and don't forget Tampa was very much mentioned before Brady came back. I feel he dropped the Browns originally as he didn't feel he had as much leverage as he did with the division rivalry. Browns then called to make a lucrative offer, amazingly he changes his mind, and this guy walks away with the biggest guaranteed deal in NFL history!

Find it funny that Watson claimed LOYALTY was so important to him, and then demanded a trade because the Texans weren't LOYAL to their word on their Coaching search. Watson then spurns the one team that stayed LOYAL in their pursuit of him. To top it all off, Watson reached out to Atlanta who hadn't made any attempt to that point, gotta love that LOYALTY!

Watson to Tepper steve-martin-kick.mp4

Hope not, tired of mediocrity. Use the rest of the cap and the draft to continue to build the team. Draft your QB next year.

True ^^^^

Would be the only thing that makes sense as to why Tepper kept Rhule. Attract Watson by letting him have say in the new HC when it does happen. Also would make sense as to why we haven't heard from Tepper. Why come out and back Rhule if your intentions are replacing him after Watson is on board.
-
Truth, and this is why this team is where it is. We move on from Teddy to an actual worse situation. Broncos move on from Teddy to Wilson.
-
Well, most teams. There is at least one team who actually went backwards from Teddy

Hamilton would not be a smart pick at 6. I know what some are thinking with the draft a FS to move Chinn to hybrid SS where he belongs, but Hamilton is not a FS you want to leave in very many single high situations. Lewis Cine is the FS you should be targeting if you can add a early 2nd round pick somehow.

Would you take this TRADE DOWN deal?
TheProcess replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes, and then would draft best olineman on the board at 16, then try to trade 19 for a mid 20's pick and a 2nd Turns pick into 2 1st and a 2nd
