Not sure about a QB, but J. Ramsey did it going from Jacksonville to the Rams.

Yikes! 1st round? He** NO! Mond has some talent, but he is a 4th round pick at best who wouldn't take Teddy off the field. I would MUCH rather draft Mac Jones, and I am not even a fan of Jones. I would sign Trubisky before drafting Mond

Maybe, or maybe the agent is trying to keep from totally ruining the reputation for potential trade partners.
-
I would offer (3) 1st, Donte, and YGM

What Carolina and others offered for Stafford

So, we actually made the best offer. I am glad they didn't take it -
YGM and Jackson

We may not be drafting a QB with the 8th pick but maybe later...

Would love Sewell or Slater! My ideal situation though, trade down, get another 2nd this year, and a 1st in 2022. Orlando Brown wants to play LT, but want get the chance in Baltimore because of Stanley. Moton is a very good RT, and is happy playing RT. Sign and trade Moton and next years 3rd to Baltimore for Orlando Brown. With our new 1st, hope Slater, Pitts, or Parsons falls. If none of the 3 fall, then pick Surtain or Jaycee Horn We then have (2) 2nds, our 3rd, and our other picks to address areas of need. -
You either trade up using next years first, or you package (3) 1st with maybe YGM and/or Donte to get Watson. We can survive and build a winner either way. You have to be smart in free agency, and have to draft well in rounds 2-7. The Rams just replaced their biggest weakness. They will be tough to beat next year. I am only okay with a Watson trade because I finally saw us draft well beyond the first round last year. I trust in Rhule to keep this going. We can put a line together without having 1st round picks. Put Watson in this offense, and we can compete with anybody offensively. Our defense is young, and will only get better going forward.

They have the cap space, and they traded Avery Williamson away last year. -

Probably being greedy here, but the way its laid out, there isn't much competition for that 2nd pick. I would rather keep 40, and offer next years 2nd instead. I believe this years 2nd round has many good options. Things change, but I currently don't see the same depth in next years draft. I would even be willing to add a later round pick. -

I agree, because honestly Wilson is the only QB I would trade up for. Fields and Lance I have no problem with if they fall to 8. Also, even though the chances are like .ooooo1% that Urban would take Fields, as Lloyd told Harry, so you're saying there's a chance. -
Yeah, I was wrong about Cam too. I wanted AJ Green that year, and wanted to tank it out for Luck the next year when we picked Luke. I had this dream of Luck to Green for many years. Though Luck and Green were very good, so was Cam and Luke. I was a fan of CMC, just not as a top 10 pick, I was wrong.

Traded (2) 1st, (2) 2nds, and (2) 3rds for that unproven rookie that eventually cost them another (2) 1st and another 3rd to get rid of for a 33 year old QB for a 3-5 year window. Wasn't Goff their last 1st round pick they have used? That was 2016 Despite that, they are one of the best teams in the league, and they just upgraded their biggest weakness from a team only 2 years removed from playing in the Super Bowl. They are serious contenders.

Valid point, but wow what a risky investment for a new GM and a new Coach. I am glad we didn’t hire that GM.

The Jets are the key. Will they go all in on Watson, or will they give Darnold a chance under the new coaching staff. 1 - Jets roll with Darnold, they stay at 2 and pick Sewell or Chase/Smith. 2 - Jets roll with Darnold, and trade back. This would net them a 2nd this year, and another 1st next year. That would give them (2) 1st and (3) 2nds this year, and they would have (3) 1st next year. If Darnold works out, that is a lot of holes they could fill. If Darnold doesn't work out, they would have ammo to move up for Rattler or Howell next year. 3 - Jets trade Darnold, and draft a QB with the 2nd pick. 4 - Jets trade Darnold, and go all in on Watson with the 2nd pick being part of the deal. Houston then sits and takes QB at 2. 5 - Unlikely...Jets trade back, add a 2nd this year, and a 1st next year. Then having gathered more picks, they go all in on Watson without losing all of their draft picks. Houston probably would not like this.
-
I agree, either WR or LT, with Smith, Chase, Sewell, and Slater as targets. I guess Waddle or a trade down could be in play if those 4 are gone. I would add Pitts, but doubt it since they have TJ Hockenson
-
Maybe, but taking Teddy for a year is better than taking Goff and his enormous contract. Trading the 8th pick back in the 15 range nets you a better package than the Rams package.
-
The Rams could eventually implode, but not in the next 2 years. Their record this coming season will determine that 2022 pick. Their record next year will determine that 2023 pick. Stafford added to that offense with that defense will be contenders. Check these 2 scenarios out. 1 - Lions get Goff, 3rd, 2022 1st, and 2023 1st.....both 1st will be bottom end, like 25th or worse. OR 2 - Lions get the 8th pick. Then trade the 8th pick to a team in the 15th pick range. They get compensation of a 2nd this year, and a 1st next year. That pick this year around 15 is more valuable than the Rams pick in 2022. That 2nd this year is more valuable than a 3rd this year. That 1st next year in 2022 is more valuable than the Rams pick in 2023. Not only would the 8th pick net them a better package, they also wouldn't have Goff and his atrocious contract.
-
It would be interesting to see what the deal would have looked like. I just don't think it would have been #8 straight up for Stafford. If for some reason it was 8 straight up, then the Lions are dumb for not taking it. The 8th pick this year is more valuable than what they got from the Rams.
-
We saw a rumor a few days ago saying the Panthers should offer our 2nd and 2022 1st....if that report was true, then the Rams basically added another 1st to offset Goff contract
-
What would you expect him to say? Obviously they prefer not to trade him. I mean if you are trading him you certainly play hardball to make teams bring their best offer. Ultimately, they will be faced with a dilemma.... 1 - Trade Watson before the draft and get picks to kick off your rebuild in 2021. Move on from an ugly situation, and allow your rookies to enter a new era without the negativity hanging over their heads. 2 - Ignore how Watson is feeling towards the uppers in the organization. Ignore that he isn't changing his mind, be stubborn thinking you can change his mind, miss out on the draft this year, a year in which you have no 1st or 2nd round picks, watch Watson sit out anyway, ultimately delaying the rebuild/picks an entire year while the cloud of the situation hangs over the organization. It may cost more for Watson, but we are debating whether or not we would accept the offer in thread. I can see your points on Wilson, and they are valid. However, it is always a risk with a rookie QB, especially considering Wilson has had shoulder issues. I prefer to give up one extra 1st and take the proven top 5, maybe top 3 QB in the league. I like Wilson as a prospect, but to thonk he can become top 5 in the league is a stretch.
