  1. In that scenario, hopefully we can trade back and net another 1st rounder next year. Make our picks hopefully filling a few holes. Continue to stay in touch in case Houston changes their mind. If not, sign a vet to compete with PJ. If at any time before the season, during the season, or at seasons end they decide to trade Watson, you have two 1st in the 2022 draft. If the 2022 draft arrives without Watson, you have ammo to go up and get Rattler, Shough, or Howell
  2. Not interested. I personally believe that Wilson is approaching a decline. He isn't the biggest in structure, and has had to consistently scramble and taken sacks for many years years now. If you go back and see how he started the season compared to how he finished, I actually thought he slowed down last year.
  3. Again, a press conference talking to the media (not directly to Cam himself behind closed doors) as he was taking over the team without the chance to really evaluate anything. He did not meet with Cam and promise him anything individually, and certainly didn't lie to his face to get him to sign a new contract. Houston met Deshaun face to face, made promises to get him to sign a new contract. These promises were made because Watson was upset over the stupid Hopkins trade, they tried to smooth it over. Then a year later, yes they talked with Watson, but then went against anything Watson suggested. I mean, they didn't even interview or attempt to speak with who Watson suggested. If you promise, then ask, you at least need to entertain and give the perception that you listened by at least interviewing. Totally different circumstances, not even comparable.
  4. Exactly! All McNair had to do is get rid of Easterly, and interview a couple of guys they spoke about. Didn't even have to hire those candidates, but at least interview.
  5. Yeah, a comment made before he ever had tge chance to get into the locker room and evaluate anything. Did Cam sign a new contract with promises made to him? Making promises to your star player after you traded his top weapon just to get his contract signed, not the same.
  6. Doubt it because I see Rhule as a stand up guy who want make stupid promises to put himself in that position.
  7. Howell and Wilson are really close for me. However, I don't even have Howell as number 1 next year, I like Rattler better. 2021/2022 combined Lawrence Rattler Wilson/Howell Shough Fields Slovis Lance
  8. There has also never been a QB crazed offseason like this one, I think they are all gone. First time for everything
  9. If talking sure value on the playing field, no doubt I put Rodgers and Wilson ahead of him. If talking overall value, Watson is ahead of all except Mahomes due to age. For instance, he is 12 years younger than Rodgers, that more than makes up for the slight difference in play on the field.
  10. I 100% agree that he isn't on Rodgers level yet, but I also agree that Watson is just behind Mahomes in value. When talking value, age is a factor, and being 12 years younger is more valuable than the difference playing level at this point.
  11. At this point we better land Watson, trade up to #3, or trade back on draft night adding another 1st next year to have ammo to go get a QB. I don't see one of the top 4 falling to 8
  12. I have been saying, if your GM can't draft in rounds 2-7 you have the wrong GM. If 1st round picks determined so much, then Marty Hurney would have multiple Suoer Bowls here. Patriots are a great example. They traded back so many times during their run. They scouted, picked, and developed players that fit their system, it worked well. Look at Miami right now. They had (3) 1st round picks last year. They picked Tua, Austin Jackson, and Noah Igbinoghene. Tua for many reasons struggled last year. Jackson played okay, but he is ultimately a 2-3 year project. Noah barely saw the field. That team went from a 5 win team to a 10 win team with very little help from (3) 1st round rookies. They got better production from 2nd rounders Robert Hunt and Raekwon Davis. They got better production from 3rd rounders Brandon Jones. They got better production from 4th rounder Solomon Kindley. They benefitted from player development and a few free agent signings. Last year the Panthers drafted well overall except for Kenny Robinson picked in the 4th round. This would need to continue if trading for Watson.
  13. Just don't see it right now, unless we trade Robbie for Oline help or a pick, then sign Curtis. I am okay with Curtis or Robbie, but we must hold onto to DJ
  14. To be honest they should use him in that manner. They should trade back from 8, and gather a 2nd this year since Miami owns their 1sr and 2nd. They should draft BPA this year, let Teddy tank it out with that bad roster, and put themselves in position to draft a QB of their choice at number 1 next year. They would then also have our 1st and the rest of their picks next year after taking QB at #1
  15. No, Miami will be Tua unless they trade for Watson.
  16. But if I am Watson I am not leaving the Texans for the one franchise who may actually be worse. I like their new coach, but the front office is still the same mess.
  17. Going solely off of the talk about (3) 1st and CMC, here are two scenarios 1 - trade for Pick 3, draft Fields who is at best a 50/50 shot at becoming above average in the NFL. Pick 8 Pick 40 2022 1st That is 3 picks total. 2 - trade for Watson, who is already a proven top 5 QB in the league, a true franchise changing QB Pick 8 2022 1st 2023 1st CMC That is also 3 picks total and CMC. Pick 8 and the 2022 1st cancel each other out. The difference becomes: Pick 40 this year for a 50/50 rookie Versus 2023 1st, CMC for proven top 5 QB To me pick 40 to get a LT this year is more important than that 2023 1st. To me it is worth trading CMC to get the proven star. If our GM cannot continue to build with picks in rounds 2-7 and free agency, then we hired the wrong guy.
  18. Yeah, Darnold has to be rated higher than Teddy just on potential and contract alone.
  19. This is my stance as well, especially considering we could be looking at picks 8, 40, and 2022 1st to take a 50/50 chance at best on a rookie QB. I also do not think any of the top 4 make it to pick 8 as this is the craziest year I have seen involving QB's
  20. True, he did put out those reports, and he is connected to the Texans. Things can change though when a team calls and offers a player the caliber of CMC, who can sell tickets and jerseys. CMC can also be the best thing for a young QB with the learning curve, he can take off a lot of pressure. To be honest the Texans need so many different things, anything is possible.
  21. Thats the thing, none of us really know at this point. Most talking heads think that (3) 1st and CMC is a serious offer the Texans could consider.
  22. He is aggressive, not many thought we really had a chance to land Rhule when most reports pointed to the Giants. Not many thought we really had a chance at Joe Brady either. Obviously it is a little different because another team is involved here. Guess we will see what happens.
  23. As they may very well do, but again as a Panthers fan I would hope our GM would try to negotiate keeping Burns, who by the way has been talked about very little nationally in these conversations. Most talk has revolved around CMC and (3) 1st Like If I offered YGM and they countered with Burns, maybe I add Donte to YGM in hopes they bite. Again, nobody knows what they will ask or demand, but my post was only what I would prefer or hope to happen
  24. I am not the Texans, so I can't really answer that question. However as a Panthers fan I am just posting my opinions on my preferences. Do I believe they could have interest in YGM, most definitely. Looking back on last years draft, some view him as a top 15 pick in a re-draft. Obviously Burns would be more valuable, and obviously they would rather have Burns, but that doesn't mean they would totally discredit the idea of YGM if it was negotiated between the teams.
