We know the Patriots are looking for a QB, and a minor rumor they may be interested in Teddy. We know the Patriots have interest in Jimmy G. Rumor is the 49ers called about Teddy. Maybe they view him as a system fit without the injuries of Jimmy G. Looking at the round Robin here, could we see a 3-team deal with Teddy to the 49ers, Jimmy G to the Patriots, pick/player from Patriots to Carolina? Maybe the 49ers think they can get Teddy for a 5th, then trade Jimmy to Patriots for a 3rd? The Patriots wanted Teddy last offseason, maybe he is their backup plan to Jimmy G? Just so many unknowns at this point, but I can say that this offseason has provided more talking points than normal. Thats made it more fun, because I hate dead periods of football talk.

Like others have said, the scheme isn't a fit. However, even beyond that, some team is going to regret paying him. He wasn't that good last year, and seems to be declining. Miami signed him to a 4 year team friendly deal, he played for Flores in New England. Miami used the team friendly deal to their advantage yo move on after only 1 year of the 4 year deal. He and his agent want put themselves in that situation again.

McClain Insinuates Deshaun is Far-Fetched for Panthers

Means nothing, John McClain is out of tune, not even people in Houston listens to what he has to say -
Report: 49ers called Panthers about Teddy Bridgewater

Just depends how the other team views him. If they feel its worth it, you don't question it, you make the move and celebrate. -

I'm guessing to secure that they get him. If released, 31 teams would have a shot at him if they choose. I'm not sure why a team would be so interested, but if they are willing to give anything, then take it run. -
I still think Jets stay at 2 and draft Fields.

Good chance Cam will be Patriots starter in 2021
TheProcess replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep, a QB and 2 receivers and they would be right back in the mix. They will need to get younger in the secondary soon, but those guys still have a couple years left in them -

Patriots are signing Cam and trading for Teddy. They see Buffalo getting former Panther players, and say hold my beer while we snatch those QB's The plan is to let Teddy play from the 20 to the 20, then Cam will enter in the red zone to finish it off. -
Orlando Brown Trade Value to the Panthers
TheProcess replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
They do need receivers, but would they be interested in Robbie? If they would be, I would include trade Robbie in a trade and be willing to include our 2nd to make it happen. Use the money saved from Robbie to re-sign Samuel. I would take Samuel/Brown over Robbie/2nd rd tackle any day of the week. -

I mean the guy was a pro bowler playing LT this year, not sure why he couldn't do it going forward. I could see Miami going after him to be honest. With Tua being a lefty, the RT is protecting his blind side. Brown could stay at RT, but get LT money as Miami's blind side protector for Tua -

Would love to get him, but the cost want be cheap. If we could work a tag/sign and trade of Moton and our 2022 3rd for him we need to do it. They get Moton to replace Brown at RT. We get our franchise LT on the cheap for one year, and will have cap space to re-sign next offseason. It would be easier to find a RT to replace Moton in this draft than a LT. -
Well, they both wear jersey # 5.....I mean you did say anything....lol Seriously though, I'm not sure where any comparison to Teddy comes from.

That was a fun conference. I have a buddy thats a diehard Steelers fan (poor guy), and I can remember we were watching the draft together. I said you guys better pick Roethlisberger, and he was like heck no because he had never heard of him or Miami of Ohio. He's heard of him now.

Yes, and when I said top level I meant FBS level. The Mountain West is no cupcake, but it certainly isn't the SEC either.
-
You have to take into account the talent surrounding the QB compared to opponent talent too. Allen played at the top level of the NCAA, and had very little talent around him, while playing in the Mountain West against superior teams with superior talent. Lance played with the best talent around him at that level of NCAA, his talent was superior to teams they played against. It's much easier to make quick reads and get the ball out to receivers that are running open. I could also use Jalen Hurts as a comparison with strengths and flaws. Jalen was a 65% passer in college, and his accuracy issues are apparent at times. He was successful with a high % because his teammates were superior to most of their competition. Jalen only completed 52% as an NFL rookie last year while removing Wentz as the starter. There is no doubt that Lance has potential, but he has things to work on with accuracy being one of them. If a team is patient with him, they could see the rewards 2-3 years down the road, or he could bust in which he would join a long list of many.

Very true, I mean it depends on the grade teams place on them.

Deablo is a hybrid S/LB type i could see Rhule liking. He will be there in the 3rd, and possibly the 4th round.
-
You would have to switch Creed and Washington, then hope both fell to those spots. I believe Creed is a 2nd rounder with Washington being a late 3rd rounder
-
Cowboys are going to tag him. I like Dak, but no way I am paying $40 million per year for him and definitely not trading 2 first round picks for the right to pay that contract.

I somewhat compare Lance coming out of college to Josh Allen without the arm strength of Allen. Lance has good arm strength, but not many are on the level of Allen. The comparisons are with size, athletic ability, pocket awareness, isn’t afraid to stand in the pocket, can make plays outside the pocket, but struggles with accuracy while not playing top competition. Josh Allen struggled for a couple of years, but continued to progress and was great this year in his 3rd year. You would be looking at a similar timeline for Lance, but if he can fix accuracy issues, go through his reads, and adjust to the competition level in the NFL, it would be worth the wait as he can absolutely be very good. Many QB's that lack in these areas struggle to fix them, and if he struggles he want ever come close to reaching that potential. He will probably go top 10 this year due to the QB craze, but in my opinion he would not in most years.

Troy Pride - has the size, quickness, and speed. Showed good instincts at times, but also had his struggles as a rookie. Playing DB in the NFL is always tough, especially as a rookie. If Rhule's reputation of developing holds true, Pride has the ability to become a solid DB on the outside. Bravvion Roy - I like what he brings as a space eating run stuffer, but ultimately we need a quicker DT that can pressure the pocket next to Brown. Roy can be valuable as depth/relief to Brown, and in goal line or short yardage situations. Sam Franklin - I like his instincts. He plays with intensity and toughness. He plays hard with a little nasty (in a good way) in his game. He is a good tackler with smooth movement, and flips his hips well into pass coverage where he can cover short and intermediate routes with enough speed to cover most deep routes. He is a former nickle corner that moved to OLB in college. We most likely keep him at safety, but I wouldn't rule out a move to OLB if Chinn moves to safety. Christian Miller - has only played 91 snaps as a pro and sat out last season for covid. Basically 1.5 games produced 2 sacks. When I watch him at Alabama, I see potential as a pass rusher who also sets the edge well in the run game. I think adding a little weight and putting his hand in the dirt would be a good move for him. He is quicker and more explosive out of the 3 point stance than he is standing up. When standing up he has the tendency to have a drop/back step before moving forward.

Nice! Davis Mills and Kelvin Joseph are both guys that I didn't expect to see anybody bring up as they are rarely talked about. Mills will be better than several QB's taken much higher than him. Joseph's character concerns will drop him in the draft, but the talent is there. There could many teams that regret missing on these guys. Richie Grant is very versatile, and oozing with talent. I like Jevon Holland as well, but I believe he hurt himself by not playing this year.

I have seen him mocked as high as late 2nd, and as low as early 4th, but mostly middle 3rd.... His talent is undeniable, but some question his effort this past season. I don't put a lot of stock in that as he was playing through some injuries.
