  1. Its obvious what could be. Get your QB on this team as it sits and you run the South for years. We are young but have talent in key areas. We have enormous amounts of cap space the next few years, and an owner with tons if money that he is willing to spend. We also have extra draft picks due to the CMC trade. We have a really good situation here.
  2. I've thought about this as well, but then I remember the Payton interview in which he said ownership and front office people are important in his decision. Houston has good things to offer as you stated, but they also have Cal McNair and Nic Caserio. These guys have been in the news several times and not in good ways. Most recently these guys will be hiring their 3rd HC in 3 years, and have canned minorities the past two years after only giving each guy one year. You have to ask yourself if free agents will even entertain signing in Houston with those two guiding the ship
  3. I mean fans that think so lowly of Payton shouldn't be surprised if dipped on the interview and signed elsewhere first.
  4. Tepper is absolutely doing the right thing here. What will be interesting is to see reactions of non-Payton fans if Payton shows compassion by being patient and still giving the Panthers an opportunity. Or how will Payton fans react if he doesn't and goes ahead with another team not taking another interview with the Panthers.
  5. Serious question.... Broncos front office had permission to interview Payton, but is it legal for players like Wilson to reach out to a Coach still under contract? Is that not tampering in some form? I don't care if they hire Payton, but I would to see them docked more picks for tampering too, f*** the Broncos forever
  6. Miami firing Boyer is interesting because Mike McDaniel most likely will pursue Fangio
  7. Good points, maybe..... AFC is good for the Saints, but that is horrible for Payton himself as the AFC is way ahead of the NFC right now. QB is in place, but is that a good thing? Wilson was horrible this year, and honestly has shown regression for a couple years prior. Geno outperformed anything recent from Wilson. In that division you have Mahomes and Herbert who are clearly better than Wilson, and rumors of Tom Brady maybe going to Vegas would put Wilson as the worst QB in the division. If Wilson doesn't play better, you are stuck with contract for a long time and because of that contract the team will be somewhat handcuffed to retain or add pieces
  8. I heard Tua speak on this. He has had 4 OC's in 3 years and mentioned that the language and concepts have differed so much each time. He also mentioned with the new concepts comes variances in pre snap reads where he may need to reset a receiver or back, or may need to adjust blocking based on defensive alignment and blitz packages. He said you can practice these things over and over, but these DC are professionals for a reason and they bring in special alignments and game plans you haven't seen yet while running that particular offense. He said that he is happy to have an offensive minded guy like McDaniel as his head coach because he looks forward to finally having continuity.
  9. Following up on this.....Lombardi worked for Sean Payton in New Orleans, Shane Day Coached with Ben Johnson in Miami....potential candidates to join either guy
  10. Very true that contract is an albatross to try and move
  11. Not to mention that Gesicki would end up hated by a lot of fans. Watching him consistently is painful
  12. I'm guessing Robbie Anderson is out the door....lol Panthers related, does this put Kyler on the trade block and put Arizona in the draft a QB conversation at pick 3? This would obviously hamper our chances at drafting one of the QB's
  13. Couldn't agree more, though the Chargers should be on the phone already trying to get Mike Lafleur to interview for OC. Lafleur was used as a scape goat big time. He comes from the Shanahan tree and the Chargers have very very good personnel for that scheme
  14. Not advocating for Payton, but Young in Payton's offense could become lethal
  15. It seems Staley is safe for another year, somehow? Lombardi worked for Payton in NO, just something to watch if Payton is hired
  16. If something ever ran me off I have no idea who I would pull for. I grew up a Miami fan and adopted the Panthers being from NC. I still follow Miami, but could never fully invest while Stephen Ross is still there
  17. I thought Don Shula did it with the Baltimore Colts then Miami Dolphins? Or was the Colts Championship before the Suprt Bowl era?
  18. I'm sure it costs multiple draft picks, will get a ridiculous contract that he isn't worth, already has injury history, and Panthers aren't one of the lucky franchises. What could go wrong?
  19. Love this Fangio news, get it done. I just hope this is to pair with a young offensive mind and not to lure Payton
  20. There won't be a QB available at 9 that I would use the 9th pick on. In fact I don't see a QB that could be available at 9 that I would choose in the 1st round

    WRs

Smith-Njigba, Addison, Johnston, Rice, Flowers, Downs, and Hyatt already mentioned for good reason, would be happy with any of them. I want to add a sleeper who is probably rated round 4 or later, but kid has a lot of potential that wasn't shown in a very pedestrian offense at Virginia. I think he makes noise at the Senior Bowl
