  1. I saw rhule say that. But looking at darnolds first interception idk if it was Ian Thomas or Robby Anderson that ran the wrong route. It looked like the ball was intended for Robby and Ian put his hands on it causing Robby to whiff. Given what was said earlier in the off-season about Thomas not learning the playbook last year and Robby seemingly being prepared it’s not hard to see why I would think that one was on thomas second interception was 100% on darnold. The play call looked iffy to begin with for that situation but throwing it to the only wr getting doubled isn’t the best look. excited for the pads to come on so we can start seeing how the o line shakes out, and obviously so the guys can really get to work sorting things out
  2. It’s crazy how quickly people forgot how decimated this roster was before last season. the only postition that’s was shored up was rb with mccafrey. wr they had to bring in anderson defense had to be completely replaced with the only “answer” already on the roster being burns and shaq qb o line was moton and paradis
  3. Christensen needs to perform for this to work cause rhule is constantly talking about having the best collective out there on oline
  4. Lol I mean I was kind of being a dick by calling out linville, I could of just read it and kept it moving, so there’s definitely opportunities for growth there on my part. That being said I’m bowing out boys/girls.
  5. If people want to criticize the outcomes of decisions I get it, but to think that somehow this one flew under Rhule’s radar, who from what I can tell from a distance, is a compulsive worker and student of the game, blew my mind a little bit. I didn’t intend for it to turn into all this also would like to mention that there are holes and merits to the arguments made against the decisions made but at a certain point it becomes conjecture and i don’t want to open that bag of worms
  6. This is not his first gig in the nfl. He’s been around the league far more infinitely than you and I. A ten year old could tell you that having QB play is important “in the nfl”
  7. They specifically quoted teddy’s familiarity with the system for a reason I’m bringing him in. Again I would like to reiterate that this originally this discussion was about you implying that rhule somehow just discovered the notion that qb play is integral to success on the football field
  8. yes only very fortunate coaches get the opportunity to win with franchise qb’s(Ron with Cam is a shining example of that) and I agree that the fields situation is very interesting and worth discussion. I think they made the move for darnold because of the uncertainty in landing one of the QBs they wanted in the draft. I don’t know how the staff felt about him but I personally liked fields and he may very well go on to have a great career, but once they sunk costs into darnold they were caught in a spot. And to their credit I believe Jaycee is a stud but yes a lot is riding on darnold not turning the bal over twice a game
  9. No they brought him in because he had tape of him succeeding in the system they run. Not because the “college coaches thought they could coach him up”
  10. Ok so is “spend money against the cap that we’ll never get back” an example of how he doesn’t value the qb position or is it an example of a business decision not working out? Cause it sounds like you’re trying to deflect from the original premise which was that rhule didn’t value the qb position
  11. You’re confused in thinking that rhule dolled out the contract. Teddy underperformed, I think to say that it’s an example of how rhule doesn’t value the qb position, when he was publicly criticizing the teddy’s play makes no sense
  12. Ok so in your mind, signing bridgewater, who without a doubt, is a much better quarterback than pj or Grier demonstrates how rhule doesn’t understand the value of the QB position. because we’d have a shot, not a guarantee, to land Lawrence an unproven commodity
  13. What was your alternative? Run with pj walker or will Grier. How much would you be crying that he doesn’t know the value of the quarterback position then? And to act that Rhule had full autonomy of the signing decisions last year would be a stretch. Not saying rename the Lombardi trophy after him. I’m just saying, framing your statement as the guy all of a sudden had this flash revelation, that you saw all along and he didn’t, that the you need quarterback play to win in the nfl, it’s just like how is that a conclusion one could come to?
  14. Even more of a testament to his abilities as a coach and organization builder. And really how many great quarterbacks have come out of college in the last five years compared to how many college programs there are? At most 2 a year.
  15. Obviously but there are different ways of getting there, one road the coattails of a hall of fame quarterback the other climbed his way by turning the fortunes of two separate organizations, both in very bad situations, in the capacity as head coach
  16. I understand but to assume that he doesn’t or didn’t see the value of the qb is kind of wild to me
  17. Lol yes the coach who’s been involved in football his entire life and risen of the pinnacle of his industry is FINALLY realizing that quarterback is important. They were going to swing big on deshaun and people were crying at what they were going to have to give to get him
  18. High and wide and half a tick late. Not the worst throw and not the best catch
  19. I didn’t like the phrasing either but that want a great ball either

    2022 LTs

Might as well start making a list cause if we pick in the middle/second half of the first round were the talent levels start to blend we’re probably going that way (obviously barring an off-season signing or an over producer in the roster) I’ll add to this post as the year goes on, feel free to chip in
  21. Anything less than 30 tds is a significant downgrade from Watson and if Darnold doesn’t clean up his mistakes he’s as good as gone sorry but that’s the way the cookie crumbles, especially with this regime Would like to add that I’m very excited about this defense flying around
  22. Idk what the time table is for the deshaun watson situation but he might still end up here Was basically a done deal before the news broke This team with him at the helm is an actual Super Bowl contender
  23. I think the more pertinent questions should be: can he consistently set up his protection at the line can he stay within the game and not force the ball trying to eek out another first down can he get better arc on his corner routes I’m general just play mistake free football for 70 plays a game 17+ times a year i think he has the high ceiling but to me that means nothing without raising his floor, so hears to that lol
  24. Agree supposedly Justin Herbert was a reserved introvert and that’s why he couldn’t be a good qb in the nfl and blah blah blah, as if that means you don’t have fire inside you So dumb to think that way. Mcgregor is a “hoorah look at me” type and he almost got his head ripped off by the quieter khabib
  25. I’m expecting rushing the passer on the line mixed in with some coverage stunts in blitz packages
