We can bolster the line in the first 2 rounds. Go LT 1rst, then hopefully a 2nd tier guy is there in the second (Humprhies, Jenkins, whoever) and put him at guard. You can completely fix the line if you get a center in the 3rd or 4rth. Boom, done.

What Are the Chances of Sewell Actually Dropping to us?
mrcompletely11 replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
5 qb's in 7 picks???? While I would love for that to happen its just not going to go down like that. I think SF goes with Mac and the draft really starts with ATL. If they go QB (which I doubt) then the craziness will start. I still think they go pitts and Lance and/or fields begin their descent down the draft board. -

I'm not sure how you can pay someone $40 million and have a toxic situation. This is a business and I think both parties understand that. -
I'm down

Which team and what amount? I think we stay at 8 but definitely trade down in the 2nd. Our pick is the sweet spot for 2nd tier lineman and still first tier corners. I could see another team wanting to move up. Plus its still likely that all of the running backs are on the board and that could be enticing for another team

If that is the case than I am not sure how they can see that. A starting LT is a premium especially when you dont have anything that resembles one on the roster. If this is the case and they pick Horn over Slater that is going to be deja vu in picking Brown over Beckton or Wirfs in 2020.

It might not have been that much and I agree with the 3 firsts. Just saying if Tepper had a hard on for a franchise qb and they thought Fields was it then they could have had him. -
I agree and if that is his only negative than thats fine with me. Just not at 8.

There is a ton of concern that he plays too aggressive and its going to be flag mania in the NFL. He is very handsy.

Sure but Tepper was/is(?) hellbent on moving from Teddy and if the staff thought that Fields could become our Watson (minus the rub and tugs) then they would have went and gotten the pick. I dont think they like watson, jones and most certainly not Lance -

Nah. I think they were so out of their minds in trying to get a qb they would have made the trade if they like fields. They were ready to give up the farm for watson. -

If we were in love with Fields and thought he was a franchise qb we would have made the trade with Miami -

The front office would look like keystone cops holding their dicks if that happened -

The Pats have been dreadful at drafting for years now. You could argue the opposite -

It would be total incompetence. How foolish would we be to think we have the staff to coach up Fields and make him an NFL qb but not the same for Darnold. Roll with Darnold next year and build the fuging line. Dont get cute -
Damn i was thinking Chris Farley had faked his death

Nah, when it comes to panthers drafting, I feel like I know more than them and their game plan. Until the current staff proves me wrong I will feel like that. We should have gotten a tackle last year, we should have never drafted Little, and we sure as hell should never have drafted Willy, we shouldnt have Rashaan Gaulden etc, I could go on but you get the idea. I think more times than not we try to be cute with the draft and I am praying Fit doesnt continue the trend. -
Pitts is the proverbial unicorn. I heard an anyalyst today (or was it yesterday?) say he will have more of an impact than randy moss did for minny. There is just no way to guard him. I cannot see Cincy drafting PS over him since they have Reiff and Williams.

If we pick Horn at 8, my prized 2015 signed Panther football me have its case broken and punted into the community pool. I would go ballistic if that happened -
pushes pitts down and pushes sewell down ATL goes qb. Cincy goes Pitts. Fins = Chase. I would either roll the dice with Det picking or flip picks for a 3rd. If not get Slater. Boom. The line is automatically upgraded.

2 months ago I was mentally prepared that at pick 8 we were going to get mac jones. Today I am mentally prepared that I am going to break something of significant value in my house come Thursday night. Maybe its the battered fan syndrome in me but I have a feeling we are going to fug this up just like last year. -

There is no trade amount that would make me not choose Sewell in that scenario.
