They did and only the bears made an offer. Trading back in the first is not as easy as just saying you are going to trade back. It will/should take a kings ransom to move off of a top 10 pick. How would picking slater been a reach? He is an all pro right now. He has started from day 1. There was never going to be an adjustment period for him. He was always a plug and play left tackle. Rhule and his dumb ass arm length fuged that up tremendously. I never understand the BPA strategy or calling picks a reach etc. If you scouted the player, if that position is a need and said player comes in and is productive how the fug is that a "reach". Trust your scouting process.

I kindof agree with you based on general principle. So taking that one step further and looking at where we probably will be drafting and the tea leaves some nfl insiders are hinting at. Then the pick will be Pickett. No way he doesnt start from week one. And that scares the poo out of me quite frankly.

Firing a coach after 2 seasons is the exact opposite of what tepper learned in Pitt. You can get yourself into the weeds in a hurry if you start recycling coach in a hurry. Not saying Rhule is a good coach but I would bet Tepper gives him one more year at least to straighten this out. Albeit I bet he strips him of some personnel power to focus on coaching

What gets us to a sustainable winning franchise quicker? Building an oline through the draft in 2022 and then getting qb in 2023? Or Drafting qb in the top 10 in 2022 and trotting him out behind this poo line and then building the line in the 23 draft? I think the answer is pretty obvious especially when you consider the strengths of each draft

I have now heard the name Bailey Zappe 3x as a 4rth round pick potentially to the panthers. Dane B is pretty high on him. I did a semi deep dive on BZ and not sure what to think. The book on him is that he is a dog like Mac Jones. Uber leader and uber smart, can process the defense at record levels, mobile enough but the big knock on him is his average (at absolute best) arm strength. I have never seen him play only youtube highlights but has anyone here seen him or have any input?
