Steve Smith weighs in on Panthers situation
mrcompletely11 replied to Cary Kollins's topic in Carolina Panthers
He doesnt punch people in the face, he suckers them either from behind or in a dark room. -
Exactly so why not throw darts at a bigger board next year? As it stands today it’s looking like a great class. It is however a great line class this year. Why go against the grain when you don’t have to? I don’t want this front office to try and get cute and try and outsmart professional scouts and analysts. You are right there probably will be one maybe 2 starters from this crop but what realistically is their ceiling. There are no high graded qbs so in theory we will be aggressively reaching.
-
Wtf? They are taking us for fools
-
It’s pretty universally acknowledged that this class is extremely weak and flawed

Trade out of 6 or trade away a player instead?

How many times does it need to be posted that its an impossibility for him to be traded? -

Should have rolled him out this year and saved our draft capital -

How do you miss on parsons? Dude may be dpoy as a damn rookie -
From the first round, no.
-
He didnt last year
-
thats my point, nobody wanted our pick except the bears and Fitt didnt like their offer. Nobody offered to drop back 3-4 spots.
-
Sure I was wrong, its not optimal, nor does it happen often but sure it can happen. I still dont want to build a team by signing guys out of free agency to build the oline
-
cool 1 maybe 2 teams can make it work point still stands
-
that works But I am sure in your research my point remains
-
Their 2 tackles are both 2nd rounders. that still pricey capital, how about the other teams?
-
Now you are getting it brother
-
He just needs 5 more years until you dumb dumb bozos understand it
-
throwing poo against the wall is 1000% working dont kid yourself
-
Throwing poo against the wall isnt a concept?

I am a little more optimistic that Tepper neuters rhules personnel input. Just a gut feeling I have

They signed one free agent. He was a doozy. They had to "overpay" because they are in win now mode. The paid a kings ransom for him 5 years 80 million 32guarenteed Thats hefty for a 29 year old but I get why they did it. https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/news/kansas-city-chiefs-sign-guard-joe-thuney

For the love of God people. We have tried over and over and over at using Free Agency to better our line. It fuging doesnt work. Teams do not let high end line talent simply walk. They are too valuable. You have to build through the draft. Show me one playoff team that built their line through free agency

Its a hypothetical irrelevant scenario because we couldnt have traded back and still gotten slater. You cannot just throw out these random trade scenarios.
-
But your scenario is far fetched because it couldnt happen.
