Scott Fiterer - mid season grade
mrcompletely11 replied to mrcompletely11's topic in Carolina Panthers
1. How about this, we were the only team that made an offer for sam. That is bidding against yourself 2. There was absolutely no reason to pick up the 5th year option. No reason whatsoever. What is the absolute worst case scenario? Sam balls out and we have to franchise tag him? 3. Anderson was under contract for this season. We literally just drafted his replacement. His extension was not needed. 4. We waited until the 3rd to draft a guy that was in free fall and even then we didnt view him as a tackle. There is a reason Brown fell to the 6th. 5. The signed them hour 1 day 1 of free agency. Why the rush? They both have sucked their entire careers. 6. He didnt want to be here anyway? Wth are you talking about ? He signed was us as a free agent 7. The henderson trade is looking worse and worse with each passing week. Plus given the rumors about his attitude and dedication then it may be a extremely high risk mediocre reward. -

How so. I just laid out his failures -
So you really believe that our oline is the 2nd best in the nfl in pass protection? Sweet baby Jesus
-
No way. Absolutely no way.

Say what now? What does this mean?
-
Bro, the biggest part of that you didnt mention is that we were literally bidding against ourselves

I really wanted slater would have been fine with fields. The horn pick is a damn head scratcher. The throw to the tight end down the sidelines last night by fields was jaw dropping. He has a long way to go but damn if he doesnt have all the tools -

I am with you, you cant just say stuff like this on innuendo. You have to go on job titles and franchise hierarchy. I get that rhule has final say but its Fit that put things in motion. Its well documented how fit talked to the jets about Darnold. I believe it was at Fields pro day when the talk started. And at the end of the day it was fit who not made the deal. There were no other suitors for Darnold and not simply waiting to see how the draft unfolded and the 5th year extension is a damn near fireable offense knowing what we know now. I was high on fit when he first came but i bowing down to him after the draft and after all these moves like a lot of guys on here were -
I said the other day his grade should be a solid C, but after sleeping on it this dude has failed in just about every aspect of his job.. Cons: Bid against ourselves and paid a kings ransom for Sam Darnold Pick up his 5th year option unnecessarily therefor tying us with him for 2 years Extending Robbie Anderson. I mean wtf was that? Being cute in the draft and not addressing our main needs (QB, line) and letting talent slip by for a wr that we didnt need Signing Erving and Elflein on day 1 hour 1 of free agency Trading Perriman Giving up more draft capital for a corner that is rumored to hate football and has played limited snaps and trading Darnolds safety valve in the process Pros: Gilmore for a 6th is great but then again we have to sign him and I imagine its going to be an expensive 3 year deal Signing Reddick albeit to a one year prove it deal Signed Daquan Jones I am probably missing some stuff on both sides but damn the bloom is most certainly off this rose. People on here were kissing his ass after the draft and I told people patience. Sure he is better then hurney but the darnold albatross is going to pull this franchise down for 2 solid years

We have to replace 4 out of 5. And for all of the good examples you gave the bad is infinitely more.

Armstead will be 31 and expensive and I doubt the Saints let him walk. Scherff makes close to 20 million this year and again will be 30. Same as the other guys. So my point is we would have to break the bank to get this guys to come and they are in the twilight of their careers. You have to draft well and ride that wave. You simply cannot build an oline through free agency. It.Just.Doesnt.Work
-
Its 18.9 for next year and there is absolutely no way around not paying it.
-
Who will be a free agent in the off season that is going to hit the market that you like?
-
We've tried the FA options for years. It doesnt work. It just doesnt. Why spend a ton of money on free agents and get wrapped up in cap hell when you simply can draft them and build from there? We would have to overpay for whatever garbage players we get. Couple that with having to resign Reddick, Jackson, Gilmore and new deals for Burns and Moore. You cannot build a team like that
-
Close your eyes and picture Howell or pickett behind a line made up of garbage free agents or 4rth and 5th rounders. Jesus if that doesnt get you hard I am not sure what does

Trade Down only option for 2022 draft?
mrcompletely11 replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
Trading down is a 2 way street obviously. You need to have a trade partner who is going to give you compensatory value. Since trade ups for non qbs in the first are rare and this class is shaking out as not good, I see us staying firm wherever we are. I expect us to be in the 10-12 range when the dust settles. -
It has to be Morgan. Eff pj. Eff that noise
