be that as it may you will never see a nfl qb "fake slide" for that exact reason
-
Nah, if we pick 8ish we will still have a look at a good tackle/iol prospect. There are 2 superstar pass rushers that will go in the top 5, a premier corner as well. Plus 2 of the teams will be in the qb market. So I think we will be set if we want to get a tackle
-
I promise you with 1000% certainty that if a qb did a fake slide in the nfl and then the next time he scamble, sliding or not multiple defenders would decapitate him penalty or not.
-
In a conference championship game I got no issues with it, but in say week 5 of the nfl season he would get murdered for doing that.

That would get you killed in the nfl -

Cons: Bid against ourselves and paid a kings ransom for Sam Darnold Pick up his 5th year option unnecessarily therefor tying us with him for 2 years Extending Robbie Anderson. I mean wtf was that? Being cute in the draft and not addressing our main needs (QB, line) and letting talent slip by for a wr that we didnt need Signing Erving and Elflein on day 1 hour 1 of free agency Trading Perriman Giving up more draft capital for a corner that is rumored to hate football and has played limited snaps and trading Darnolds safety valve in the process

How are we going to fix the oline?
-
Thats 2 separate arguments. Nobody is busting on Horn the player just saying a pro bowl left tackle is infinitely more valuable (especially to this team) then a pro bowl corner. Hopefully horn comes back strong and is a cornerstone of the d. But as of now it was the completely wrong pick

Would you trade our 8th pick (or higher) for Baker Mayfield?
-
2 things here: 1. Our staff is fuging retarded if they think getting off the field on 3rd down is a bigger need then protecting the qb 2. Our staff is fuging retarded since they didnt have Slater on the board for tackle because of his "Short arms" As of today Slater is grading out at 82 on PFF as a damn rookie that started the season at LT. Almost 10 points higher than Sewell. The philosophy and mindset of this organization needs a damn re-do already

I agree. The average arm and small hands concern me but again I dont want him in the top 10. this is a good line class and we absolutely must capitalize on that -

I think pickett has at least that and someone compared his arm to Mac Jones. Not sure what to make of the kid as a whole I know I would just prefer to get a lineman in the top 10 -
Dane Brugler Mock Draft 1.0 (from The Athletic)

Interesting blurb outlining some positives: Here is what McShay wrote, in part: “His arm strength and pocket mobility are average areas in his game, but his toughness in the pocket, fast eyes on progressions and awareness in holding the safety stand out. His decision-making is improving after back-to-back seasons with 13-to-9 TD-INT ratios. And Pickett flashes some second-reaction ability, too, scrambling when he needs to create.” Wrote Kiper (a day before the North Carolina game): “He is accurate to all three levels of the field, has shown patience in taking the checkdown throws when necessary and has good zip on his throws.” The top five quarterbacks on both analysts’ lists are the same: Pickett, followed by Liberty’s Malik Willis, Ole Miss’ Matt Corral, Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder and North Carolina’s Sam Howell. Boston College’s Phil Jurkovec, a Pine-Richland graduate, is ranked sixth by Kiper, seventh by McShay. With big games remaining all across the country and serious evaluations upcoming as early as January, many opinions will change before the end of the season. The draft is scheduled for April 28. -

Just did a mini deep dive on Pickett. Very burrow esque type last season. Although he isnt very mobile, has small hands and tends to fumble. Also wears two gloves. Probably should pass on that alone. -
::Sigh:: Nobody is trading for cmacs contract. That phrase needs to be pinned to the top of this board. We are stuck with him for probably 2 more seasons at least

Because we will have to pay a premium to get any of those guys here. They are not available in the sense like free agents

Available is a weird word here.
