For the Willis isn't that fast crowd

You're not wrong, I just think the value of a "running qb" is extremely overrated. -

Last 5 years playoff qbs on final 4 teams: 2017: Brady, Foles, Bortles, Cousins 2018: Brady, Mahoomes, Goff, Brees 2019: Rodgers, Jimmy G, Mahoomes, Ryan T 2020: Allen, Mahoomes, Brady, Rodgers 2021: Jimmy G, Burrow, Mahoomes, Stafford I count one "running" qb out of 20 potential spots. I think running qbs are just shining toys but when the rubber meets the road in the playoffs defenses can scheme for them and shear arm talent and accuracy win the day. -

6'3 225lbs 4.4 40 Rocket arm Great stats vs top of the p5 teams I just dont get the appeal of drafting willis when we past on Fields last year. I think you guys are just chasing your tail here. Add to the fact that he is universally slated to be on the bench for a season at the very least. I just dont see Rhule going this route -
Cool story

Slater for me but I would have been content with Fields. Still think he is going to be really really good

This is where I keep coming back to. Why pass on fields last year?

Good stuff from the athletic in regards to det " The perceived issues in Willis’ game could take a minute to clean up. His accuracy is tops on that list, as Willis himself noted at the combine. His completion percentage dipped to 61.1 last season and he threw 12 picks. “(I’m) trying to be as consistent as I can with my base,” Willis said. “That’s where some of the flaws in my game come from, maybe some of the inaccuracies.” Whether that’s a fixable issue at the next level depends on whom you ask. Some NFL coaches and scouts will tell you that Willis’ game can be cleaned up — again, draft-and-develop — and that better technique will dial in his throws. From others, you’ll hear that quarterbacks who have accuracy issues in college tend to be permanent concerns. Are there exceptions? Sure. Look at Josh Allen. In general, though, folks on this side of the fence will note how challenging it is to craft a pinpoint passer. The Lions’ approach everywhere else would suggest they’d argue for the former, more patient route. Brunell, for what it’s worth, was a 52 percent career passer in college and at 59.5 percent as a three-time All-Pro in the NFL. He also was a fifth-round pick. The last thing the Lions want to do is talk themselves into the idea of a quarterback at No. 2." https://theathletic.com/3202872/2022/03/22/is-malik-willis-becoming-a-draft-reality-for-the-lions-why-it-makes-sense-and-why-it-doesnt/

In your opinion, how do the steelers move to 2 from 20? I aint seeing it.
-
say what now?

Darnold has the mental fortitude of a teletubby

Yep, and if Willis goes 3 somebody is getting pushed down to us. And if by some crazy scenario a team trades in front of us we may have our choice of 2 of the top 3
-
Nah thats not even enough, Philly had to give up about that to not move up that far
-
My preference for this draft. 1. Pick a tackle at 6 and run it back with sam and get a qb next year 2. Pick a tackle at 6, trade cmac to buff for their first and 3rd and get howell 3. Get pickett I guess, if they are dead set on a rookie qb. But damn that just doesnt feel right with this group especially passing on Fields last year

Based on their history I highly doubt they have a top 10 pick. Tomlin is too good of a coach and their roster is really really good as well. Its probably going to be in the teens

Thats not enough compensation

REPORT: Panthers are not interested in Baker Mayfield

You cant fire me I quit -
Would you make that trade for pick 6? It would be tempting but I probably would want their 2nd as well this year. Steelers however very rarely have high first round picks. 10th 3 years ago and the rest are 20's. Not sure if that is worth it to us
-
It would take 3 firsts for Pitt to move from 20 to top 5

How in the hell is Willis a better prospect then Justin Fields? WTF am I missing here?

this is a lot to fix and if he doesn’t figure out the sack thing he is going to get hurt sooner than later https://nfldraft.theringer.com/mock-draft?_ga=2.3232368.139743324.1647875409-1439562385.1613940927 At times, Willis’s timing and accuracy become spotty and his touch on passes can run hot or cold. He’ll put a ball inside when he needs to lead his receiver to the outside, or vice versa. The Liberty star is a bit quick to bail on a clean pocket and can be overly reliant on his athleticism. He’ll hesitate to pull the trigger at times and take a sack rather than getting the ball out quickly to his outlet. He tallied a 13.1 percent sack rate in 2021 (taking 51 sacks in 13 games), an astronomical number that he’ll need to dramatically improve on in the pros. Ball security was a bit of a concern this past season; he had a few too many bobbled snaps, fumbles, and picks. Willis will need to further refine his accuracy, cut down on turnovers, and take fewer sacks at the next level.

Maybe, but if fields dropped last draft then I could easily see willis doing the same. Fields at least tested incredible physically and was a freak with a cannon. Sometimes that stuff matters, sometimes it doesnt.
