https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/four-things-we-learned-in-episode-3-of-panthers-blueprint Trading up for DJ Johnson was pre-planned The Panthers' trade up for Oregon pass rusher DJ Johnson received a lot of criticism around the league and especially around the city. He only had one full year of playing the position and only posted six sacks. That said, the combination of his freakish athleticism and raw power are what gave the front office conviction to go up and get him. More interestingly, Frank Reich told Fitterer and Dan Morgan in the video to go back to his office at the end of the night to look at the whiteboard where it had Johnson's name circled with a note beside it to trade up. This shows that they didn't panic when pass rushers were starting to fly off the board and just aimlessly traded up to make sure they got one. They went up to get a guy they liked and planned on doing so. go to minute 32 "good player" we are so fuged

One thing that has to be discussed is if DC is brought back for year three on a short leash and we draft a new qb. Then if DC gets fired the new qb will have 2 head coaches in 2 years. Thats not good. -
5. Extending moton - why just why would you do that?

which 3rd and 10 play makes you think that lol -
the offense hummed wk 3 against the raiders, the rest of the games meh
-
4. Resigning Andy dalton fug me there a lot
-
for the record I dont want DC fired even if we land on 5ish wins. I want to see him in year 3 with "his" guy running his offense. I still dont have a ton of faith in the youth paster shtick but he still deserves a year 3

Which is why not returning Harbaughs calls and doing a token interview with Vrabel is fuging maddening. 2 good coaches that needed jobs and the teppers once again tried to outsmart the system

On the list of things I will never understand in a million years 1.How half of the huddle could see this and a professional org could not 2. How the hell does dan morgan get the gm job all things considered 3. Why in the hell did we trade up for a rb with a torn acl theres more but those are my top head scratchers

this experiment has to end regardless if he gets back to the last 10 games level from last year. Hes too mentally fragile to rely on. I think Tepper knows this now. -

I mean kenny picket and mac jones got a 5th and 6th. Somebody will take him for something. Or just cut him, doesnt matter either way he just cannot be on the roster when the new guy gets here -

Then you have to trade him, letting him simply play out his 4rth year and the letting him walk would be colossally moronic if that is what they are suggesting. -

kaye has always been way more critical of the panthers then the past observer writers. I love his style -
Observer Young needed to be more than turnover fred

Such a weird unnecessary narrative -
you gotta think the locker room would fuging revolt at that idea "wait, that little dude is our qb for the next 2 years? Yeah no dawg get me out of here"
-
and the overthrow to renfrow and the 2 throws into the dirt one on 4rth down. There is a laundry list of poo throws from Sunday

Kyle Bailey and cohost said yesterday that they absolutely would pick up the 5th citing drew brees and sam darnold as examples but they would bring in a vet to compete. Wtf are people watching? Is this all a giant suck up to tepper. People can point to darnold and brees but they overlook the vast wasteland of poo qbs that never worked out, mac jones, kenny pickett, zach wilson the list is endless. Keeping bryce and hoping he turns into a top 10 qb is akin to winning the powerball, the odds are overwhelmingly against you. and anyone using sam fuging darnold as an example of why we should keep bryce needs to have their head examined. The dude has been the same player his entire fuging career. Shows talent then mentally implodes at the faintest sign of pressure
