  1. damn i totally missed that, then I guess moton was the biggest card we could play then. How in the holy fug did we get 8 over a day before the season started?
  2. Alright so I finally looked at it. Seems we pushed everything to next year and bumping his salary for 2025 t0 35. Previously we could have cut him and saved 18mil but now thats not the case. So this sortof looks like 2 things. Moton is def here for at least 2 more seasons albeit very expensive but it is what it is. And exactly like you say this gives the panthers options to either bite the entire bullet next year and simply walk away clean or rework it for 2,3, maybe 4 years. The 35 is tough but it means we can avoid trying to replace him in the short term. I just wonder why it was so imperative to free up 10mil right now? Were we that tight on the cap as of yesterday?
  3. Not this year in 2025 And from the link above he is now fully guaranteed 35 mil unless I read it wrong. I am on my phone so it's entirely possible
  4. If true then our cap is truly fuged. Ill look in more detail tomorrow but I thought they would pay him the 30 this year and could take the 12 cap hit next year and save 18 million Now they are stuck paying 35mil next year? Holy poo
  5. But they could have released him and saved 18 million. It's a bit weird to push the money trying to help this season
  6. So he's 30 mil next year no matter what. Slight gamble I guess to free up a little room.
  7. Even if he was to agree to that, and I seriously have my doubts, maybe the panthers dont want to pay TM $22 million per season. And adding the guaranteed aspect seems insane. Moton is an aging slightly above avg RT that is currently being paid way too much all things considered. Like we said earlier, the front offices actions seem to dictate that they are just going to bite the bullet this year and re-access next off season where they have more options. But I can promise you morgan and tillis do not want to give him a guaranteed deal for the next 3 years.
  8. 30 mil is an insane number for a RT that is going to be over 30 no matter how many games he has played. I think the panthers just want to get through this season with his contract and figure out what to do then. They could cut him or extend him after this year. But they are kindof backed into a corner with him for 2024
  9. Panthers are the dude at the strip joint thinking they can save the dancer
  10. That's the point you should give a crap about the cap because if mismanaged it leads to things like today
  11. As a whole, Fitterer said he sat down with assistant general manager Dan Morgan and went through the whole roster, position by position, comparing it to the 2022 edition. For the most part, they drew positives. "We had mostly positive, a couple equals; there was one negative," Fitterer said.
  12. so I guess one has to ask, why even sign him at all if its blind faith you can turn his career around?
  13. Thats the plan for moton it seems. I seriously doubt that they value a slightly above average RT at age 32 paying him basically 30mil per. If he would do a salary cut then it would be a different story but actions are telling at this point. Dude is making a lot of money as a RT.
  14. If they haven't done it yet then they seem to want to ride it out. He's probably gone in2025
  15. beck sanders ward ewers allar garret n moss all of those dudes imo took a step forward to becoming a first round pick, its just one game but they didnt do anything that would shoot themselves in the foot the moss kid kindof exploded out of nowhere
  16. This may be an all time most moronic thread all things considered and holy poo that is saying something for the huddle
