  1. OL - to be objective we should look at what OTs and OGs were available (I don’t actually know) in free agency. Last time I saw an attempted stats focused review of all free agents it showed that everyone was about as bad as each other. Turns out no one lets above average OL hit free agency. QB - He tried to secure Stafford and Watson, unsure if he was in the mix for other trades for QBs. He couldn’t convince them to join us which is a failing of the team, not him yet. The QBs available in the draft would not be helping us this year. So his failing was Bridgewater to Darnold… which turns out was a big mistake rather than a lower risk trade such as Minshew. WR - impossible to accurately evaluate Robbie IMO, there’s too much crap going round. Kicker - at the time was awful seeing people in and out in a conveyor belt but looks like we’ve got an upgrade albeit for this season. CJ & Gilmore - Unnecessary to do both, should have pushed for Gilmore before trading for CJ. CJ definitely was a reaction to our standing plus Horn, but our CBS have managed OK with him. ~~ So the main issues for me are moving on from Bridgewater to Darnold and the CJ trade, the rest is a wash

  3. A different way of thinking… Surely if we are struggling with basics we need to be more creative with our design and calling. We need to find the “free” plays where we take advantage of opposition approaches. I don’t believe is reported to struggle learning things, just his decisions when things are live. Dialing back to more simple plays into the oppositions hands as they have a much cleaner and simpler view of what’s about to happen. Exhibit A is the progressively increasing view of people reading routes, sitting on routes. They always have Sam’s first read locked down and we know he struggles looking beyond that. So call something that takes advantage of that… do something, anything different. When was the last time our play actually gave Sam his first option with a high percentage throw.
  4. Agree that teddy isn’t the long term answer for any franchise, but he is capable of keeping an offence moving. big criticism when he was here was the inability to get in the endzone… so far he’s on track to double his TD output he had with us. Not clamouring for his return or being apologetic for him, but this is yet more evidence that our HC/OC combo can’t plan a proficient game plan, call effective plays on game day etc. first TB and now Darnold, so far both QBs started ok, then massively tailed off as the season progressed. Not only that we are getting less out of them than their previous (and next) teams have. Im convinced we have a HC/OC > QB order of priority to fix right now.
  5. I’ve seen much worse QBs score more than this… At this trajectory the offence will score fewer points than Sam/Gase Jets
  6. You need to factor in the fields interviews where zoom... that’s a totally different experience to standing up in front of people
