I foresee Nathan Peterman as the next Panther QB

As a GM, dudes got a bigger gambling problem than Michael Jordan. I don’t know what him and Fitterer are smoking.
-
I’d like to see it. We need some kinda backup plan.
-
It's not fair compared to a full season, but it was almost 260 snaps. It just seems like a unnecessary long shot to take. There's so much concern over a rookie doing it, but I'm concerned that Corbett playing Center is gonna be a huge problem. They might have to put Jansen in there and have Young stand back 20 yards.

They really pushed all their chips to the middle of the table on a dude that posted a 47.9 PFF score last year.
-
I understand the concerns with it. It's a lot to expect a rookie to understand all the nuances of the protection adjustments and whatnot. While at the same time adjusting to the speed of the NFL game and blocking NFL linemen. If they thought Corbett could be good enough, that's fair. But, why not bring in a kid to back him up and potentially play if he gets injured or is awful?
-
Either we have the best defense in the NFL or the worst offense. Hmm.
-
The downside of that situation seems preferable to having nobody at center.
-
If the offensive line comes out week 1 and can't block a thing, its not looking good for Dan. That much emphasis on shoring up the line, and they still can't block at all? They have about a month to get their poo together.
-
It was simply stupid to go with only Corbett at C. I will never understand investing that much money in 2 Gs, and not even having a bare minimum starter at C. They could have easily picked one in the draft.
-
Hopefully the offensive line can figure it out. If not it’s gonna be real ugly.

That's the best they could do? Oof -
I didn’t write him off. He’s gotta write himself back on after last year. And if things look the same this year, he’s not on a good trajectory. That’s all I’m saying.

I don't get it. Center has been a need for more than 1 season and its been ignored. It's not the flashiest pick to make, but you can pretty easily get a replacement level or better center in the late rounds of the draft. None of the guys we take end up making the team anyways. It doesn't make any sense. It's just more of trying to swing the bat way too hard every single pitch. When really we just need a single here. You have to play the odds at a certain point. The odds that Corbett alone is going to be the answer are slim. The opportunity cost of taking a center is one of the other draft choices we made. I don't think that's very much to pay for having another option on the roster.
-
You don't have to pray for something that's already happening. Nobody wanted this. He's gotta be able to push the ball down the field to be successful in the league. That's it.
-
Maybe that's why, but its a stupid reason IMO. We don't have a center. I'd rather a have a rookie take his lumps and learn with a young QB, than not have a center and therefore not have any kind of offense. You can't protect the QB with a center that can't play. Interior pressure is game over.
-
They'd rather take some high potential prospect that won't play instead of a center in rounds 2-7. The center would only need to be better than god awful to start.
-
I'd rather see him fail horribly by trying to take some shots than just playing safe until we draft his replacement.
-
For me, the gametime situation is just so different from training camp. Even if they're out there in pads playing, its not the same.
-
That's good the connection is coming along in camp. But I'm not buying into anything until I see the regular season this year. Fool me 6 times, shame on you.

That's awesome. Our very first true Hall of Famer. Drafted by the team and spent most of his career here. I would add that if you're looking for a safe jersey to buy, his is now officially an all time classic. Its the only one I owned from the early 2000's era where the player didn't immediately become cursed after I got it. -
Point is he was taken in the 6th round and he’s doing well in camp. They spent a top pick on a QB and still took a 6th round flier on a guy. Because hitting on a QB is everything.

Thank you. I don’t have to post it.
