  1. How could you watch this game and conclude that a top tier RB is worth it? I'm watching a 10-10 game between two teams that desperately need better QB play.
  2. Give some credit to Joe Burrow for turning his own career around. Hindsight is 50/50, but it looks like Burrow had a lot more to do with LSU's success than Brady. Dude is a legit QB at the NFL level, while none of our QBs have improved at all.
  3. Rhule said we would focus on the run game and Brady called 17 run plays.
  4. Only because away team fans help fill up the stadium. it doesn't matter from a tickets sold perspective, but the Chargers don't have much of a home advantage.
  5. I'm just not sold on our staff, and I don't see how bringing him in helps anything in the immediate term. This smells like a panic move to save a season (and perhaps coaching staff) that can't be saved.
  6. He was on the last year of a contract in a clear tank season. He thought he was a lame duck coach, and he was right. I agree with everything else though. Fox got the Panthers into the Super Bowl in 2 seasons, but I think the league passed him by. He wasn't nearly as good later on with Denver.
  7. I thought we needed a new OC, QB and O-Line before today. I think we need a whole new staff after today.
  8. We were a bit outmatched but I'm proud of our guys. They stayed in the game despite it all. Glad we didn't get embarrassed. Hopefully they bounce back next week.
  9. Yes, just because we never had a DC that would send pressure other than the front 4. Not only that, but the stunts and things being called are genius. The 2003 team had to get pressure with a vanilla defense. Speaks volumes to their talent really.
  10. At this point I'd write it off as a toxic environment. He's following the path of basically every other high value defensive pick in the organizations recent history. Almost all of them were traded away and were/are stars for their new teams. We just didn't have to give up a 1st to get this guy, which is fantastic.
  11. Man I just love our front office right now. That's seriously a big cajones move.
  12. My expectations were probably too high for Joe Brady, so he's definitely been a bit of a disappointment to me. Overall though, I can't say he's been bad. His overall offensive design plays to the strengths of our players, and I think it's helping Sam Darnold get his career on the right track. Brady's red zone play calling has visibly improved, and I think he'll continue to get better. My only real gripes with him would be predictability on 1st and 10, and 4th and 1 or less. This is not based on data but just anecdotal. We always seem to run some auto pilot run up the gut play call on 1st down. I don't hate that, but its a bit predictable when it's done too much. I also do not like how we are insisting on being a power run team on 4th and short, even though that's the most common play call in the world. We simply do not have the run blocking personnel with this line, or a true power back that's good at that.
  13. They must have showed Chuba the posts in this thread. Dude is getting going after we poo on him lol
  14. Chuba Hubbard should not be in the game. I'm not ready to write him off as a bust yet, but he is not ready for the NFL.
  15. How did they get to 4th down? Did the refs forget to throw another flag?
  16. I thought it was questionable to let Zach Kerr walk, but Rhule and Fitterer clearly know what they're doing here. I won't doubt them again when it comes to the defensive line.
  17. Is 50 the score you get for being a warm body?
  18. Hard to tell from the TV angle, but I thought the first play he came in he looked decent. He seemed to hold his guy up enough.
  19. I agree about CMC not being a power back on the goal line, but I just don't think we have the blocking personnel to win those matchups. I'm not sure it would matter who was taking the handoff. It was good to see Brady call a quick pass play after that didn't work a few times, and Sam hit DJ on a quick slant for a TD.
  20. One thing this team does not have in common with 03 is winning by the skin of our teeth. Many of those games, we played not to lose, and relied on Jake and the offense to setup a last second score. Despite the offensive sputters in the 3rd quarter, the ability of this offense to keep moving the football yesterday was big.
  21. I've talked a bunch of crap about Rodney Harrison, but I'll gladly take him back on that panel now. Brees is just worse in every way.
