  1. The fact that he had Sam so highly rated is a red flag. Sam's college tape is trash.
  2. Great example is Michael Thomas. I remember people here dumping on him because anyone could put up those numbers getting targeted that much, etc. Now we have DJ Moore essentially doing a less impressive version of the same thing, and he's "amazing". What plays come to mind for you guys with DJ Moore? I can't think of a single one besides a 1 yard hitch route on the sideline, where he's hit immediately. Sure he has the big plays here and there between the 20s. But, he doesn't get open on 3rd down, and he doesn't get open in the red zone. He disappears for literally quarters at a time in a game. None of these traits are #1 receiver traits. A real #1 receiver will show flashes of that even on a trash team. DJ is just a good WR that should be #2 or 3 on a stacked team.
  3. I think fans overrate DJ Moore. I don’t think he would put up better numbers anywhere else. I don’t know what you guys are seeing on the field. The 1000 yard seasons are good but the guy never makes a difference in any game.
  4. Fitterer didn’t have much to do with that team. He’s been more involved in the slow collapse since.
  5. If the board falls off that hard after pick 5, we aren't going to be able to trade down very well. Just pick the best guy IMO.
  6. Well it is going to be the magical 3rd year under Rhule's Jay-Z 7 year overnight success plan. I think that means we make it to the Sugar Bowl and get blown out. And then Rhule leaves for a higher paying job.
  7. Agreed. Ian Thomas is a textbook definition of replacement level.
  8. "A win-win deal" Win win? For him and his agent maybe.
  9. Not gonna lie, I'm starting to think of this clip when it comes to Fitterer's responsibilities. "Well I bring the paper from Matt Rhule's office to Samir's" "Couldn't Matt Rhule just tell Samir himself who to sign?"
  10. Just let him walk. His highest graded ability is pass blocking... as a tight end.. Worthless.
  11. This is why all that salary cap wizardry is plain stupid. You can move numbers around all you want, but when you are committing money to Ian Thomas, Sam Darnold, Robbie Anderson, Pat Elflein, etc it's useless. This is garbage roster building.
  12. This was the logic for reaching on Slater last year, and it would have worked out in that case.
  13. Exactly. 1 year ago he was ready to push all the chips to the middle of the table on Darnold, and now he wants nothing to do with him. What changed? Darnold looked the same as he always has.
  14. But that's a re-run. We saw that last year.
  15. Minshew was a no brainer move last offseason. Acquiring him cheaply would have made sense to backup Sam. In the event that Sam Darrnold didn't work out (who could've predicted that? ), Minshew was a decent enough alternative that cost almost nothing. Going into last season with no option besides Sam on the roster was just irresponsible.
  16. What if this is just a power move to get Cousins to sign a team friendly extension. "Alright if you won't do it, we'll trade you to Carolina."
  17. I agree. If he's Johnny Manziel then pick up the dice and roll again next year.
  18. The 12-14 range IS mediocre. He put up big numbers. So what. That offense is absolutely stacked, and he has not shown the ability to win the big games. Trading assets to then pay a guy top 3 money to be a 12-14 QB is just madness. It's objectively bad.
  19. I think it's a little concerning, but at the same time, I didn't get my head on straight until I was 26 or 27. It is kind of crazy to think that these guys hit the league at 20 or 21 years old. I would have definitely made some televised mistakes if it were me. It's hard to tell what he did exactly to set the official off. He was playing on that court last season, so maybe he made himself a bit too much at home on the sideline.
