I watch Burns almost every play and he’s almost never doubled.

Clausen holds the record for worst season QBR since ESPN invented the stat in 2006. You are basically talking about limbo'ing under a bar that's touching the ground. Even if he can't throw the ball he will be better than Clausen.

As other posters have said, the odds that 1 of these 2 guys becomes a franchise QB is still pretty low. We haven't seen enough from either guy, and Mike White had a couple good games last year before coming back down to earth. The 49ers messed up royally by trading so much to take Lance that high. That was a huge mistake. I felt like he was a reach there even if you had earned that pick without trading for it, but that's just me. The Jets took a swing at a franchise QB with their early draft pick and they missed. It happens. They will probably be looking to swing again soon.

I'm fine with that, I just don't want us to sign Geno to a Teddy contract or trade for Jared Goff. It should be someone who is cheap so the commitment level is low, and a FA so we don't have to give up anything.

I just don't even wanna hear about "bridge" QBs or trading for someone else's veteran QB. It's like we've learned nothing.

I think either way they are keeping Goff. If they are smart, they will start Goff next season even if they draft a QB early. They can afford his contract, and easily cut him loose after next season if they want.

He definitely deserves to be in the conversation. I bet Chris Olave wins it though.

His biggest improvement has been less turnovers. He has similar TD and yardage numbers.
