  1. He’s what we hoped Bryce would be. Physically unremarkable but good enough. Plays smart and does what is needed to win. For whatever reason people always hate a winner that doesn’t have all the physical potential. But the other guys people are bringing up have not had the same success. I don’t know if he’s 2 overall, but he’s good. Making the right decisions is a lot more important than flashy highlights.
  2. I’m not attempting to defend the Panthers decisions, and I don’t have a ton of optimism that this particular regime is going to work out. That said, you can’t complain that Bryce is incredibly limited and pointless to build around, and then complain that the new coach is installing his system regardless of Bryce’s limitations. Coaches install their scheme that they run and get their guys in order to run it. It’s been that way since I started watching in the 90s. This is not an endorsement of Canales or Tepper. It’s just reality.
  3. If Zach Wilson or Trey Lance panned out, he would get a lot more heat. That class has been awful.
  4. Because he is a meh QB. He saved his career from being awful by becoming an average starter. He’s definitely a big disappointment from what he was billed as out of college.
  5. As much as Canales likes to sling it, he ran Rachaad White into the ground last year. Almost 300 carries of nothing but being ground down to the bone. We will need guys that can run between the tackles, and I don’t think they like Sanders.
  6. I’d rather have a coach that’s going to install his plan instead of building around the weaknesses of a very limited player. We goofed on the draft pick but this is the path forward. He either swims or he doesn’t.
  7. Availability is the best ability as long as you’re at least replacement level. Sanders didn’t meet that bar last year.
  8. The overall stats aren’t a good indicator of what I’d need to see. Personally I need to see him show he can drive the ball down the field. The offensive line should be better and I’m assuming the passing scheme will result in more open receivers. Hes gonna have to show he can make big time throws. Not just from a yardage point of view, but 3rd down and red zone situations.
  9. They did this because Arthur Blank believes the Packers model is the path to finding a franchise QB. Drafting a 1st rounder and letting them sit for 2-3 seasons.
  10. That's really unlikely to happen. The reality is, they are building for what Canales wants to do. That's what all coaches do. And if Bryce can't do that, he's another peg that has to be replaced.
  11. I mean maybe they are in denial and not getting the right pieces around Bryce. Or maybe they are getting the types of guys they think they need, and Bryce has gotta figure it out or they’ll replace him too.
  12. It wouldn’t take much luck for your dog to do better than Scott Fitterer
  13. Well not to be that guy, but I hope they make good centers. Neither is particularly good at guard.
  14. The double trouble teams would have won a Super Bowl if Jake didn’t completely break down. 2003-2005 Jake with 2008s roster is a Super Bowl team.
  15. Thats exactly it. The NFL stands for not for long. The vast majority of NFL front offices discount future picks because they have to have success or they lose their jobs. Nobody is doing the 76ers strategy of tanking for 5 years to accumulate picks in the NFL. I mean think about it. You want to wait 3-5 years to find out that the guy stockpiling all the picks doesn’t know how to use them?
  16. Its a good question. And by my count it looks like the 2nd best C vs the best RB. Zach Frazier was the 2nd C taken, and he was available when we picked Brooks. Personally, I'd probably go with the C, but I don't hate the choice to go with the top RB. I'm not a huge fan of going RB that early, but we need talented skill players on offense really bad. I would have liked to see a C taken later in the draft to complement this choice.
  17. A lot of linemen were taken early. I don’t mind them picking the best running back instead of the 15th best tackle/guard
  18. Especially when you consider Diontae Johnson... is a 1 year rental could disappoint could get injured Bryce is really hurting for guys that are good in the dink and dunk game. By the same vein you could argue that we already had Mingo so we don't need XL. The truth is, we need help at receiver and nobody we have is that good.
  19. I’m gonna go with C but I feel like it’s a C+ or B- I liked going receiver first and I like how we picked up a 2nd rounder next year. I like getting a running back and Te as well. Additionally I like how we didn’t trade up and give up a ton of picks to move up earlier in the 1st. I’m not going to complain about them taking Legette over another receiver or moving up 1 spot. He’s not the type of prospect that I would have selected but he’s who they wanted. So I’m not going to moan about that. I think they did the right thing. The draft loses a few points for me in taking the RB and LB so early, and waiting so late to get a corner. I would have liked to see corner and center addressed before RB and LB but I don’t know what their board is like to be honest.
  20. You’re crazy if you think Morgan and Canales are so attached to Bryce that they will tank their careers for him. If Bryce does not improve there is a near 100% chance that Morgan and Canales bring in a different QB next year.
  21. Unless we sign Gilmore and Horn is healthy all year he’s likely a starter for us next season. Especially if you consider the nickel corner a starter.
  22. Figured they were worried about a leapfrog taking their guy. Regardless of how you feel about Legette, the move up wasn’t bad. If that’s your guy, they did the right thing to get him.
  23. He's Dak Prescott. Or as he's known in certain circles, Stat Padscott.
