So it comes out earlier in the week that Bryce won't play, and then on game day we find out its 30 people? If that was the case, why not say that earlier in the week? Why not say well actually most of the starters won't play week 1, so its not special for Bryce. That wasn't brought up at all? Are we using deception in the preseason? Wouldn't you want to match the other team a little bit, so you can get something productive out of the game? It feels like they decided to hold everyone out because they were scared of how bad the performance would be. This is just an odd situation, and indicative of an inexperienced coach.

He might not make the team, and honestly he might be terrible. He did almost throw a pick 6, and he's very raw for a 24 year old. But when you got nothing in the cupboard, how can you not take a guy?

He's just the cannon fodder. They decided to shelter Bryce and Andy is hurt. There's no evaluation going on at the QB position here. They made no attempt to make that position better. He was a warm body to play the game last night.

It didn't require 3.5 quarters to figure that out. That was brutal.

You could easily explain it away as nobody knows how to use the preseason games, so we're experimenting. We thought we would get a good look at the guys we need to make decisions on. We'll see more of our starter guys next week. etc

I would have done anything to fire John Fox and hire an offensive coach ~20 years ago. But man I feel like I've seen enough. We need a defensive coach. REPENT

Yea we definitely have to be a bit patient with him and see how he handles the bumps. Or at least hope that Tepper will. Or our next head coach is probably coming from the huddle.

Just goes to show you the impact that really good coaching can have. Most people would say we lack talent on defense, but you can see the coaching in how they play. The tackling is sound. The fundamentals are there. People are on point. Very discouraging about the offense.

I'm trying not to overreact, but I can't get over how the same stink is on this team. It feels like Frank Reich never left. That man might as well be a shapeshifter. Not encouraging. When John Fox took over this team, and we were 1-15... things were different immediately. When Wilks took over as interim.. things were different immediately. It takes coaches time, but there should be a change in the vibe.

We knew that before the game. That's not useful. That's why I'm saying its a waste. All we learned is that Jack Plummer needs to be unemployed.

Hopefully we keep Dan Morgan's assistant to start the next regime.
