Nah I disagree. Its about the defensive line (including pass rush specialist LBs as edge rushers) and CBs -

Micah Parsons could grow into a great player, but its just not a LB league anymore. Probably the RB position of the defense in terms of value. -

And I thought Joey Slye was the worst kicker in the league. I was wrong. -

Dak has looked pretty good, all things considered. He's missed a few throws, but he doesn't look scared to me. -

How could you even resist at this point? I'd watch the game no matter what teams were playing. I need football! -
I don't think they passed on Fields because of Drew Lock. They were scared off by the epilepsy reports. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2021/08/21/broncos-passed-on-bears-justin-fields-due-to-medical-concerns/

What are you expecting from Derrick Brown this year??
PNW_PantherMan replied to JABANOG's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think expecting him to be Aaron Donald is just not realistic. Donald is maybe the most dominant interior lineman that has played in the modern era. I just want Brown to command double teams and be disruptive in the run game. Oh, and stay healthy. -
There's also the very real possibility that neither Fields nor Darnold pans out. In that case it has nothing to do with either QB. It matters how good Horn is in relation to those around him in the draft.

From what I've heard, Donte Jackson has matured a lot over the last 2 years. Glad to see him get captain, and I hope he has a great season. If Jaycee Horn is the real deal, Donte will probably be targeted a fair amount. Or maybe they'll just pick on Bouye if we have 2 shut down corners

Alright, since everyone is predicting a win I'll go the other way and be Mr Negative Nancy. I think it will be a hard fought game. Jets win 20-17 after both offenses struggle to do much. We lose the turnover battle by 1. Everyone panics that our season is over, and we use this game as a stepping stone to go on a winning streak.

Question for you 50 years plus folk (and others)?
PNW_PantherMan replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not 50 yet, but I would easily take the championship. If we won against the Broncos, that would have made that one hit wonder season worth it to me. Winning is everything, and just being "good" for a period doesn't mean much the more years that go by. -
I'd also add that if Ron Rivera didn't deliberately throw the game against us by starting Haskins, we'd have a much higher pick than we did.
-
CMC is great, but he started all 16 games in 2019 and we won 5 games. Don't get me wrong. I like the roster improvements, and I like the coaching. I like the flier on Darnold. Teams with disasters at QB tend to pick top 5.
-
We won 5 games with Teddy as our QB. If Sam implodes, less than 5 wins is not unrealistic.

Can this guy really be "THE GUY" for the Aints
PNW_PantherMan replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
We'll see how much of a miracle worker Payton is. Brees sure did make him look like a genius, but he failed his true calling of turning Taysom Hill into an NFL QB. Jameis will probably do better in the offense, because the TB offense is built around taking shots. Saints will keep him dinking and dunking most of the time. -
Nick Foles is available...
