Big arm is more of a bonus. I think the most important factors are.. 1. Can you process the field correctly in the short amount of time you have? Probably the most important thing. 2. Are you consistently accurate on the intermediate throws? Very important for 3rd and medium-long and red zone effectiveness. If you can answer yes to both of those, you have a good QB.

It's possible. But on the flip side, look at what's happening with Kellen Mond right now. He was a 3rd round pick, drafted a year before Matt Corral. He was talked up big going into the draft by Chris Simms, but he did not look good at all last year. The Vikings have a new coach this year and there is talk of Mond being released. That's not even 2 full seasons on the roster for a 3rd round QB. And the only decent QB they have on the roster is Cousins.

Well one QB that hasn't look particularly good is Kellen Mond. He was a 3rd rounder and it looks like he's on the verge of being cut by the Vikings.

Its too early to completely write him off, but it doesn't look good. From the limited amount he's played so far, it looks like we'd be lucky if he develops into a solid backup.

Chuba was bad last year too. He is a non factor in the passing game, and he doesn't have any standout qualities as a RB. You can bring in anyone off the waiver wire and they will be just about as good, if not better. For example, Abdullah looked better than him all year last year. Now there's some kid outplaying him in the preseason.

How many centers are walking around in free agency that could step in and do better? I think its pretty thin. Any running back we pick up is going to be at least as good as Chuba.

He's looked good but we'll see how he looks when the regular season starts.

Hope Baker stays healthy, cause he's the only thing between us and a season of PJ Walker.

He didn't need to use it on Corral though. He was already ahead of him on the depth chart.

The first couple games last year it felt like every play was either a CMC handoff or CMC dump off, cause Darnold couldn't throw downfield.

His balance is also lacking. He looks the same to me as last year. He's replacement level at best.

I get it they want to play power football, but you have to get push to do that.
