Yeah I think this will be a flash point. Either good or bad. If he throws for 20 yards in the 1st half going 3 and out constantly they will get boo'd off the field. Just as much as if he has a great game, he will be crowned for the next 5 years.

It'll be interesting. McVay is a good coach and its really tough to beat a well coached team twice. I think we give up a lot of ground in the rematch because of the coaching difference.

Can you name one? Nobody plays like Kerry Collins anymore. Some guys take too many sacks but that doesn't mean they can't throw off platform.

Yeah my point is Canales is just slow to adjust. And he typically doesn't carry over his decisions week to week. Look at how long the RB situation was a mess. His playing time methodology is hard to understand sometimes.

This game could shift perception a lot. If Bryce has a great game there's a 0% chance we'll even sign a different backup. But if he has a bad game, it will color a lot of the off season more than a single bad regular season game.

You can't really be a clean platform thrower in today's league. You have to be able to move around the pocket and make improvised throws that are not technically efficient. You're just way too limited with a guy that has to throw from a solid platform. The archetype for that guy was always the 6'5 statue that can stand there and see the field. And even that doesn't really work anymore.

Or maybe they know and don't care about making it more fair. Maybe controversial calls generate buzz and more eyes on the league in the short term. Who knows what their motivation is other than max profit.

Thats true at the NFL level in general. You can’t just line up and dictate the game to the other 31 teams by running. The talent disparity isn’t wide enough for that. You have to be able to make teams guess with something in the passing game. The Panthers are playing rock paper scissors but can only play rock. If you can’t play paper against us then you get rolled by Rico. But teams have caught on and are daring Bryce to throw now.

I can't hate on Arthur Blank. He looks like a 1800's oil tycoon but he has done more for the fan experience than Tepper. I get some Falcons cross pollination from following the Atlanta Braves. They seem just as miserable as us honestly.
