Even when Fox pulled Weinke to run the single wing against Atlanta... at least it was effective. -

Yea I mean the Browns were willing to trade everything to get a guy who's suspended and under criminal investigation. They knew he wasn't going to be good enough to win for them. -

Stefanski can easily win this game by not passing. I'm not sure why he isn't just running every down. -
At least they got a Super Bowl win though.

As much as I'd love to see Tepper admit he's messed up, it will never happen. Like others have said. It's not really a matter of ego for Tepper, but a matter of professionalism. Can you think of any other time this has happened in the NFL? Firing the guy implies it was a mistake. Piling on and saying what a mistake it was to hire this person is just unprofessional, and really buries them when they're just trying to move on and find their next job. Doesn't really accomplish anything.

CBS floor and ceiling for each team
PNW_PantherMan replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Two games is the difference in 9 and 11 wins, which is the difference in your ceiling and CBS's. We haven't beaten Tampa since Tom has been there. That would be a big swing to sweep them. -

That perfect situation probably involves Tom Brady surprise retiring this week lol. -

Your argument was that he's not always hurt. He missed those games because he was hurt. If the season was essentially over by the time he was ready to return, then why didn't he return earlier? Because he was injured.
-
He got hurt in the 3rd game of the season after having the highest usage in the NFL. Not much proactive about that. If they're really being proactive and saving him, why not just sit CMC starting week 1 this year until we see if the team has a shot at the playoffs?
-
I don't really understand this point. He's not Bermuda grass.

That's my main concern as well. Lots of fans are writing in a W for the Panthers week 1 because the Browns don't have their QB. But they have one of the better rushing attacks in the league, so if the score stays relatively close it may be difficult for the Panthers. If Baker and the offense can get up by 2 TDs or something, they won't be able to just pound the ball and catch up.

Mike Mayock is Matt Millen all over again. Television analyst gets job as GM and fails miserably.

This guy is an absolute statue in the pocket. I've never seen a guy so susceptible to being sacked. He doesn't even have a step move.

Corral vs the rest of the rookie field

He did seem to get overshadowed in preseason this year, so its not that surprising. But I liked this guy. He catches the ball well for a lower tier receiver, and he's good on special teams.
-
Big arm is more of a bonus. I think the most important factors are.. 1. Can you process the field correctly in the short amount of time you have? Probably the most important thing. 2. Are you consistently accurate on the intermediate throws? Very important for 3rd and medium-long and red zone effectiveness. If you can answer yes to both of those, you have a good QB.

It's possible. But on the flip side, look at what's happening with Kellen Mond right now. He was a 3rd round pick, drafted a year before Matt Corral. He was talked up big going into the draft by Chris Simms, but he did not look good at all last year. The Vikings have a new coach this year and there is talk of Mond being released. That's not even 2 full seasons on the roster for a 3rd round QB. And the only decent QB they have on the roster is Cousins.
