Fair but I'd rather take a shot on Stroud than have Justin Fields.

Patriots fans finally know what it's like to be a fan of a normal NFL team.

They're going to need a much better defense to win games with Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe.

I fully expected the Patriots to win this game. They are truly going nowhere this year.

Probably as long as he wants to. I can't see Kraft firing him. NE is probably in store for a lot of mediocre football.

Fields has shown impressive flashes since day 1. It's just what happens in between that's the issue.

I don't think the running QB thing is really about injuries. It's just that the athletic ability to excel at running the football is the first thing to fade. If you can make the right reads and get rid of the ball you can hang around in the league. If you rely on being able to turn upfield for a 1st down on 3rd and long, you're just not going to be able to do that into your late 30s. Most players fade at skill positions in their early 30s.

Mooney is decent. That's about it.

Trubisky wouldn't have been good anywhere. And Jay Cutler wasn't bad. He just wasn't the transcendent QB they hoped he would be. The Bears offense is under some kind of curse or something.

Not sure what the Nagy administration was thinking, but it feels like the Eberflus staff is gonna make him fit their system rather than shaping the system for him. And if that doesn't work they'll probably look for a new QB. Just my speculation.

Pat Surtain II has been more available and is playing at an elite level. If we're going full hindsight here.

He just hasn't looked good enough honestly. I think people have an attachment to him and they want him to do well. That's fine. I don't think he's 100% sure a bust at this point. Anything can happen. But he does not look like a franchise QB based on what we have seen so far just IMO. Not hating on the guy, but it is what it is. Just my observation.

Mac Jones seems so limited. He has to play perfectly because he brings nothing to the position athletically.
