    So the other weird thing is Mikko basically accepted the same deal from Dallas that he refused to sign in Colorado? Why didn’t he just sign the extension with them? If 12mm AAV isn't enough, why not wait until the offseason? Only thing I can think of is he got spooked that his value would plummet in the last stretch of the season with the Canes.

    Kinda strange Mikko wasn’t a healthy scratch last night. If they were that determined to get rid of him today. Would have been bad if he got hurt in the game.

    Colorado fans are furious because now hes in the same division and they’d never have agreed to trade him to Dallas. i say you get what you deserve. They didn’t allow him to discuss a new contract so it’s their fault he got moved twice

    Good on the FO for getting it done. We didn’t have much leverage here. Cant undo the mistake, but its better picking up some assets than losing him for nothing and having him be a cancer on the team

    Also the Canes allowed Mikko to seek an extension with another team. Colorado did not allow him to do that.
