  1. Cam isn't what he used to be but he's a better option than trading for a jimmy or baker.
  2. I'm not sold on a baker trade but man if he comes in and plays well then you can bet, he's going to take Rhule to the cleaners and ask for some ridiculous contract. Baker also doesn't seem like the kinda guy to accept the franchise tag either.
  3. Let's for hypothetical reasons we trade for Baker and he put's up something close to his 2020 numbers (30td and 4,000 passing yards) would you be ok with giving him 30-35m a year on his extension. A healthy Baker isn't a bad QB but if he plays well he would absolutely have this organization by the balls in contract negations. If he puts up good numbers then we are probably too far down in the draft to get Bryce young or Cj stroud.
  4. I know he's washed but I'd 100% rather watch Cam with a full off season and a revamped Oline than trading assets for Baker or an injured Jimmy G.
  5. I think the pick should be a LT or a gamble on the potential of Willis. Drafting Icky or Neal at 6 is the best move for us long term as it won't handcuff the next coaching staff with a 2nd year QB they didn't draft. Let Rhule try and save his job with either Sam or a veteran like Jimmy G.
  6. Watch Neal and Icky go in picks 1-4 and the saints trade up to 5 for cross. We get Willis or and I pray this doesn't happen, but Rhule runs to the podium for Trevor Penning
  7. It was criminal how they limited him to only screens and half field reads at Oregon. I still though couldn't see how people thought Tua was better especially after the hip injury.
  8. I know just a reference to all the anti-Herbert takes at the time only for him to become a top 10 QB in his 2nd year,
  9. I don't know if Darnold can be salvaged but what I do know is that we are stuck paying him 18 million this year with what looks to be a lame duck HC. It doesn't seem so bad to fix the Oline and improve the overall talent of the team while we ride out the last year of Rhule. I personally want us to take Willis. I like his attitude and his top tier arm and athleticism I think he has that "it" factor and if he can be developed, he's going to be special. However, I do understand the argument for just letting this year go and allowing a new staff handpick a QB in what looks to be a loaded class next year.
  10. We haven't had a LT since Gross retired at the end of 2013. We had one good random season from Oher in 2015 and the rest have been mediocre. If we can somehow get a team to trade up and recoup some draft capital and still nap a Charles Cross so we can finally solve the long-standing question of "can he play LT?" then I'm ok with our punishment of watching Darnold next year. Who knows maybe the whole "He's only 24" thing turns out to be good and he actually develops into something that resembles an NFL starting QB. Then the whole huddle worships Ben Mcadoo for the next 9 months.
  11. Getting 16 and 19 from philly would be nice. cross/penning then corral/pickett.
  12. Cam had 3tds in the Washington game, we didn't lose that game because of Cam. No one here thinks Cam is our long-term solution but as a bridge QB he's the best choice. This is the best LT class we've seen in a while and one of the weakest QB class sense 2013.
  13. Now Cam might not have the cannon he used to, but his arm is still plenty strong enough to throw down field. There was no need to worry about our vertical passing game because of how bad the Oline was.
  14. My tin foil hat theory is that Cam is truly open to coming back but only if he's the unquestioned starter. Fitt and Rhule probably told him they couldn't guarantee him anything, but they'd like to have him on the team for his leadership an experience, but Cam is only willing to be a backup if it's on a contending team. I expect after the draft we will know a lot more. I just don't see how Jimmy G coming off shoulder surgery and Sam Darnold are better than Cam with a full offseason.
  15. As much as Malik Willis excites us the best long-term option for this team is to resign Cam and trade down and continue to acquire assets and build the roster. But this is Rhule's make or break it year, so I fully expect us to take Kenny Pickett since he's the most pro ready QB. I like Pickett as a QB I just don't think we should stick a new coaching staff with a 2nd year QB that they didn't draft when/if Rhule gets canned.
  16. What's the point? If we wanted to go this route it should've been done at the start of free agency.
  17. Nothing matters until we know who the QB is
  18. Cam absolutely deserves a shot to prove he can still play. He came of his couch last year to play behind a JV offensive line and work with two trash OC's and was still our most exciting offensive player. Give him a full offseason and see what he can do. You can then trade down or take a LT at 6 and continue to build the team. If it doesn't work out then rhule is fired and fitter and a new coach can draft one next year in a better class.
  19. Gardner is an extremely likeable dude and has heart but he's just to physically limited to be a long-term starter.
  20. I want to believe but Rhule recruited him in college, and he went to Tepper's alma matter. All the signs just keep pointing to picket.
