We are 1 game out of the division lead and 1 game from the 1st pick in the draft. Being the Panthers, I fully expect us to Tie to keep us stuck in the middle.
-
We have the foundation of our roster set. We just need to make the right choice at QB, and we are ready to compete. We also need to add a consistent #2 WR, extra pass rusher, and another RB from the draft.

Wouldn't hate spending a 5th round pick on the Rodriguez kid.

What’s your 2023 QB big board (including Corral)

I didn't say sign him to play. Having that veteran in the locker room to help guide a young QB is important in their development. -

Drafting Richardson and signing Cam back to come mentor him would heal so much hurt that Rhule did to us at the QB spot. -

Let's say we win the division and have the 19th pick. Are you comfortable trading up from pick 19 to pick 3 at the cost of 3 1st a 2nd and a 4th for any of these guys. The 49ers traded 3 1st and a 3rd to move up from 12 to 3 in 2021 to get Lance who looks really questionable right now. I really like Bryce and would be happy with Levis or Stroud, but it would be a huge gamble to give up that much for a guy who hasn't taken an NFL snap. -
Panthers win Sunday…1st place in the South
CmC2k replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think we should tank but we picked a bad year for the NFC south to be this bad. We could very well win the division and host a playoff game. Which would be great it's been so long since we played a meaningful football game here, but it would set us up for a very difficult offseason. Let's say we win the division and have the 19th pick. Are you comfortable trading up from pick 19 to pick 3 at the cost of 3 1st a 2nd and a 4th for a guy who's not taken an NFL snap. Jones has played good as a game manger this year. I don't think they'd be looking to upgrade unless a Top 10 QB suddenly became available
-
The QB market is gonna be extremely competitive in the offseason. 1. Panthers- lol just look 2. Bucs- brady most likely gone 3 Falcons- Is Ridder or mariota really a long-term answer 4. Saints- Winston and Dalton look lost without Payton 5. Lions-Goff isn't it 6. Texans- Mills hasn't shown anything this year 7 Colts- Matt Ryan is done 8. Commanders- Wentz is who we thought he was 9. Pats- Mac and Zappy both look average, and Belichick is a wild card 10. Seahawks- Geno has played really well this year but he's not a long-term solution If we win the division, we will be picking behind all of these teams except the saints in a draft with only 4 1st round QB's. So, it'll either be us biting the bullet and trading up or another year of rolling with a Vet QB and kicking the can down the road.

Yes. Don't just go all in because QB is our biggest need. Do the scouting work and if you aren't 1000% sure that they are the franchise guy trade down and acquire more assets and draft capital to use later when you identify the right guy. In the meantime, you can sign a vet like Teddy, Cam, or Jimmy G to a 1-year deal and see what's available next offseason. With how bad the South looks right now you'd probably still win the division and wouldn't have any threat to your job security. This is what should of happen in 2020 but Matt Rhule happened.

The first team to find a QB is gonna rule this division for the next 3-5 years. We have extra picks from the CMC deal it's up to Fitter to find us a QB.
-
The Bucs have a tough schedule and are playing their worst football. It's unironically gonna be us vs Atlanta for the NFC South.

Inside the Carolina Panthers' three seasons of quarterback failure
CmC2k replied to Vox's topic in Carolina Panthers
The one thing that brings me comfort is that it seems our overall scouting department is actually good and has the ability to identify QB talent. With Scott Fitterer now in full control we can go back to being a professionally run organization instead of the clown show that Rhule ran around here. -

We had the lead and all the momentum no reason to risk that. Also, he's playing the 4th string QB who he didn't draft, sign, or scout so I don't hate him for playing it safe especially when he knows he needs to win in order to have a chance at the job.

Albert Breer talks Panthers, Burns, and details McCaffrey trade...
CmC2k replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rookie QB's need to come into a stable environment in order to have the best chance for success. Look at the Ravens with Lamar, the Bills with Allen, the chiefs with Mahomes, and Houston with Mr. happy endings. It puts so much less pressure on the rookie QB and allows them to develop at their own pace instead of being asking to carry the entire organization from day 1. So, let's go out and reestablish the identity and culture on what it means to play Carolina Panther football. If we win and make the playoffs so be it, we have plenty of picks to move around in the draft to get a rookie QB or to trade for an already established QB. Also getting this young core a chance to experience playoff football will be good for their development. -
Welp.. Levis, Hooker or McKee come on down.
CmC2k replied to panthersgreenville's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't care who the QB is just start stacking wins. Weather it's PJ, Baker, Sam, corral or some draft pick just win. Yesterday showed that there is too much talent on this team to be constantly sabotaged by poor QB play and play calling. MacAdoo looked competent and PJ didn't torpedo the ship so let's build on that and keep improving. -
Panthers are one game out of first place in the NFCS
CmC2k replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we win at Atlanta this weekend, then go on the road to beat the Bengals we could be going into our one primetime game of the year with our new helmets and a chance to be at .500. It would be the first time we would have a homefield advantage this year. -
This year's QB is not comparably to last years. Last years was worse than the 2013 QB class. The lions also have Goff and while Goff isn't a good QB he is a proven NFL starter and has put up decent numbers for them. We on the other hand have no one at the QB spot. We have had such a massive drop off in QB play since the TJ watt hit on Cam newton that Thursday night game in 2018. A new Head coach isn't gonna tie their job to a 3rd QB from the previous staff or a journeyman QB in free agency especially when we will have the 1st pick in a good QB draft class.

Just ground and pound the ball with chuba and foreman to keep the clock running. No reason to keep prolonging this game any longer than it has to be.
-
I love Burns as a player and a leader but if the Eagles offered their 1st this year, the saints 1st this year and some change I'd really have to consider that offer if Burns isn't 100% committed on resigning here or if his contract demand is something crazy. I'd love to see what an NFL DC could do with him unlike Phill Snow who was dropping him into coverage on what seemed almost every 3rd down.
-
It's a shame Pat white so dead set on playing nothing QB. He would've made a great WR. Was such a threat with the ball in his hands.

Watching Pat White and Steve Slaton at WVU that 2008 season is what made me love football
