  1. Let's say we win the division and have the 19th pick. Are you comfortable trading up from pick 19 to pick 3 at the cost of 3 1st a 2nd and a 4th for any of these guys. The 49ers traded 3 1st and a 3rd to move up from 12 to 3 in 2021 to get Lance who looks really questionable right now. I really like Bryce and would be happy with Levis or Stroud, but it would be a huge gamble to give up that much for a guy who hasn't taken an NFL snap.

  2. I don't think we should tank but we picked a bad year for the NFC south to be this bad. We could very well win the division and host a playoff game. Which would be great it's been so long since we played a meaningful football game here, but it would set us up for a very difficult offseason. Let's say we win the division and have the 19th pick. 3. The QB market is gonna be extremely competitive in the offseason.

    1. Panthers- lol just look

    2. Bucs- brady most likely gone

3 Falcons- Is Ridder or mariota really a long-term answer

    4. Saints- Winston and Dalton look lost without Payton

    5. Lions-Goff isn't it

    6. Texans- Mills hasn't shown anything this year

7 Colts- Matt Ryan is done

    8. Commanders- Wentz is who we thought he was

    9. Pats- Mac and Zappy both look average, and Belichick is a wild card

    10. Seahawks- Geno has played really well this year but he's not a long-term solution

If we win the division, we will be picking behind all of these teams except the saints in a draft with only 4 1st round QB's. So, it'll either be us biting the bullet and trading up or another year of rolling with a Vet QB and kicking the can down the road.

Doesn't mean we should go all in on the wrong guy. Just look at the Niners with Trey Lance. Good overall roster but hamstrung because they went all in on the wrong guy so now they're having to double down and try to figure out how to win with what amounts to a high end backup in Jimmy G.

Yes. Don't just go all in because QB is our biggest need. Do the scouting work and if you aren't 1000% sure that they are the franchise guy trade down and acquire more assets and draft capital to use later when you identify the right guy. In the meantime, you can sign a vet like Teddy, Cam, or Jimmy G to a 1-year deal and see what's available next offseason. With how bad the South looks right now you'd probably still win the division and wouldn't have any threat to your job security. This is what should of happen in 2020 but Matt Rhule happened.

I'd be happy with him as defensive coordinator but don't want him as head coach. I can't stand the conservative game management. He doesn't play to win. That works if the other team beats themselves, but you're not going to consistently win that way and you're going to gradually undermine your team's confidence. I think we're just seeing how historically terrible Rhule was that Wilks' basic competence looks so good. But we can do better.

We had the lead and all the momentum no reason to risk that. Also, he's playing the 4th string QB who he didn't draft, sign, or scout so I don't hate him for playing it safe especially when he knows he needs to win in order to have a chance at the job.

  6. Rookie QB's need to come into a stable environment in order to have the best chance for success. Look at the Ravens with Lamar, the Bills with Allen, the chiefs with Mahomes, and Houston with Mr. happy endings. It puts so much less pressure on the rookie QB and allows them to develop at their own pace instead of being asking to carry the entire organization from day 1. So, let's go out and reestablish the identity and culture on what it means to play Carolina Panther football. If we win and make the playoffs so be it, we have plenty of picks to move around in the draft to get a rookie QB or to trade for an already established QB. Also getting this young core a chance to experience playoff football will be good for their development.

  7. I don't care who the QB is just start stacking wins. Weather it's PJ, Baker, Sam, corral or some draft pick just win. Yesterday showed that there is too much talent on this team to be constantly sabotaged by poor QB play and play calling. MacAdoo looked competent and PJ didn't torpedo the ship so let's build on that and keep improving.

Here is the question, did the Lions take Aiden Hutchinson or reach for Kenny Pickett? They took Hutchinson. Why. Because if you took Pickett or Willis you were reaching and over paying massively.

That's what we are looking at for 2023. Any QB taken at number 1 you are massively over spending for. That's a position for a generational, sure fire talent. Anderson is that.

Now you pair Burns with Anderson for three years, let Corral develop his mind to match his physical tools, and you may have a championship window if you play the markets right and draft well.

This year's QB is not comparably to last years. Last years was worse than the 2013 QB class. The lions also have Goff and while Goff isn't a good QB he is a proven NFL starter and has put up decent numbers for them. We on the other hand have no one at the QB spot. We have had such a massive drop off in QB play since the TJ watt hit on Cam newton that Thursday night game in 2018. A new Head coach isn't gonna tie their job to a 3rd QB from the previous staff or a journeyman QB in free agency especially when we will have the 1st pick in a good QB draft class.

  9. I love Burns as a player and a leader but if the Eagles offered their 1st this year, the saints 1st this year and some change I'd really have to consider that offer if Burns isn't 100% committed on resigning here or if his contract demand is something crazy. I'd love to see what an NFL DC could do with him unlike Phill Snow who was dropping him into coverage on what seemed almost every 3rd down.

They were both made for the college game and they killed it at WVU. No shame in that!

It's a shame Pat white so dead set on playing nothing QB. He would've made a great WR. Was such a threat with the ball in his hands.

Pat White... he was the West Virginia QB that basically died after a hit in the NFL, right?

Watching Pat White and Steve Slaton at WVU that 2008 season is what made me love football🤣

  12. Bryce Young is the best QB in the draft. His ability to put a team on his back as a leader and with his play is exactly what we need. He has the Mahomes ability to create after the play has broken down that are just back breaking for the opposing team. Yes, his size and durability are a concern, but the talent is there to warrant the 1st overall pick.

CJ Stroud is the most complete QB in the draft. He has the size and although he doesn't use it much, he has the athleticism to go along with an insanely accurate arm. The question with stroud is can he produce without his stacked WR core he has at Ohio State like Joe burrow was able to prove when he came into the NFL. I think he is the safest pick to make if you don't wanna draft a bust.

Will Levis has the best tools and the highest ceiling in the draft. He has a super strong arm and great size and running ability, but he struggles throwing accurately with touch and his pocket presence. He is coming from a pro-style offense in Kentucky and would be ready to start from day one, but he also has the highest bust potential.

  13. So, we are asking a pregame announcer on what we should do to rebuild the team? I mean even though Payton would be a great coaching he's still under contract with a division opponent. No way they'd ever let him come here. Payton isn't dumb if he was a free agent coach then yes, he'd absolutely want to come here because he knows Tepper would make him the highest paid coach in the league, but he knows for us to get him from the saints the amount we would have to pay would cripple the team and leave him with nothing to work with once he would get here.

  14. What would've been the point of us grinding down and already injury prone CMC into the dirt the remaining 11 games when we know we are going to keep losing and further hurting his trade value and while having him being the highest paid RB in the league. The free agent RB class this year is super deep, and you can sign someone for pennies on the dollar compared to what we would've been paying CMC and probably receive similar production. Then there's the draft which always has late round starting RB's come out every year. Despite how great of a player CMC is it's the modern NFL and RB's are a dime a dozen.

  15. Khalil Herbert 6th rd pick for the bears 63 carries 402 yards and 3TD's vs CMC 85 carries 393 yards 2TD's. I love CMC's talent but at the end of the day he's still an injury prone RB with a massive contract. We received a good haul of picks and cleared a bunch of cap space in 2024 when we'll have to pay Burns, Brown, and Chinn. Just get the QB pick and the HC coaching hire right then pair that with our solid Oline, DJ moore, and young defensive core and you have a solid team to build around going forward.
