Evero?!?! Should he be on the Hot Seat
CmC2k replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Evero is a good DC I just think we severely underestimate just how poor our overall talent is on that side of the ball. We had to almost completely gut that side of the ball in order to fix the offense to save Bryce's career. Once derrick brown went down last year, we had no shot at fielding an NFL level defense and even if he stayed healthy it probably wouldn't have made that much of a difference. Steve Wilks did such an amazing coaching job in almost getting us to the playoffs at the end of the 2022 season that it inspired many fans and ownership to overestimate the talent on our roster. Combine that with the years of suspect drafting by Rhule and Fitter and you end up with the disaster that was 2023. Morgan and the front office have done a good job at fixing the offense and turning it into a solid unit. Next offseason I expect us to put more work into the defense and improve the depth on that side of the ball. The defense isn't great but Evero doesn't deserve all the blame. Alot of the blame is still on Rhule, Fitter and Tepper for the years of poor asset management and bad drafting that gutted the roster of overall talent. -
how is that roughing the passer he was in his throwing motion still?

At least Plummer is throwing it down the field

Taylor Moton gets emotional talking about what happens next year
CmC2k replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Moton's knee is fine and he wants to continue to play, he should be kept as a career panther. I'm sure Brant and Morgan can find a way to make the deal work in favor for both sides. -
This defense needs someone other than Derrick Brown to bring some mean energy I like it. Of course, I'd rather him save it for the regular season or maybe joint practices but I'll take it.

For those thinking Renfrow isn't making the team...Ha!
CmC2k replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
It sucks not having fans at training camp this year to give us reports on whose running with what unit. It does seem that Renfrow has been getting a lot of run with the 1s over the offseason so I'm confident he's a lock to make the team but what I really wanna know is how does his snap count compare to Jalen Coker. It seems like we haven't heard about him much this offseason. -
Guys that will either make or break our Young Quarterback!!
CmC2k replied to Doc LRB's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce needs to prove without a shadow of doubt that he's our franchise QB this year. He has the talent on that side of the ball to prove it. -
If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games? The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.

RUMOR: Panthers possibly making an addition in the secondary
CmC2k replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I trust that the front office and Brandt tilis would workout a reworked contract before we'd make a trade. Those future cap hits are brutal and we have to think about extending Ickey and Bryce in a couple years. -

The Evolution of the Panthers WR Room from 2023 to 2025
CmC2k replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm really excited with how the offense has been built and I think we have a real chance to compete at a high level on that side of the ball this year. It's year 3 for Bryce and it's time for him to show out and solidify his place as this teams QB for the future. The supporting cast is there from Oline, WR, RB and HC there's no reason why we shouldn't be at least a top 15 offense this year. The defense will be the achilles heel of this team again but I'd be ok losing some fun shootouts. -
The Manning's know just how hard it is mentally to play QB in the NFL so I really doubt they would let Arch go after 1 full season as a starter in college. He's making a boat load in NIL right now, so he doesn't need to leave for money reasons. Having him stay in college so he can fully develop as a QB before he goes pro is the route they will go with. If they wanted him to go pro as soon as possible he wouldn't have stayed or even went to Texas. Steve Sarkisian sold the Manning family on being able to develop Arch as a QB and I feel like they are going to be patient.
-
There's no way the Manning family is letting Arch declare for the draft in 2026. The Manning's are smart and aren't pressed for money. They know Arch is gonna be the 1st pick whatever year he declares so I think they keep him in college till at least 2027 but I wouldn't be shocked if he stayed till 2028 to get 3 full seasons as a starter under his belt before going pro.

Jadeveon Clowney upset about being released
CmC2k replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wonnum and Patrick Jones are solid starters and should be able to play well as we allow the rookies to get their feet wet. Between those 4 and Barno needing to be active for special teams reasons how was Clowney gonna get his reps? Good on the front office for pulling the band aid off now because I guarantee you by mid-season Clowney would be complaining about playing time and production exactly like he did in Cleveland. Clowney needs to learn that teams view him as a productive veteran stop gap with attitude issues and no team is building their edge room around him. -
I like Thielen he has great chemistry with Bryce and is super clutch but if he's going to hang up the cleats next offseason then this will be a good time to sell high on his value. I'm all for keeping him if he's communicated his willing to resign and play for at least this year plus the next. I feel like by the trade deadline we should have a feel on his willingness to resign and play in 2026.
-
He's also going to be 35 going into the season and on the last year of his deal. I think we should be looking to see what we could get.
-
Renfrow also has return experience, so I won't be shocked if he makes the team. Should allow us to dump Theilen for a mid to late round pick to a SB contender around the deadline. Theilen is gonna want to try and compete for a ring this year with him being at his age and in a contract year I can for sure see use maybe getting a 4th or a 5th around the deadline.

Moving on to the 2nd round discussion
CmC2k replied to flagfootballcoach28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Please take Princely Umanmeilen at 57. Dan Morgan said the team is gonna value production in this draft and Princely has put up 17.5 sacks and 26 TFLs over the past two seasons. -
I think we trade down to #12 with Dallas for a 3rd. When you look at the Pick value chart picks 12 and 76 from Dallas work almost evenly for pick 8. Then watch us take Walter Nolen at 12 and try and get his teammate Princely Umanmielen in the 2nd. That would leave us with left 2 3rds 2 4ths and 3 5ths to address depth and other needs.

Glad to have you back lord commander Dan and Dave have assembled a talented group of draft prospects that will in no way upset the huddle with their selection on draft weekend.
