So no real answer for 2 starting questions. You are going back to the office, despite the risks. It is what it is. You've got 2 things going for you: 1. You will take some precautions, even though its impossible to be completely safe from eachother. 2. This thing isn't as contagious and deadly as some want to advertise it as. I will be going back to work once they allow me to as well, and I will also be enjoying parts of the city when they open up. Just like you, I will assess the amount of risk and pick and choose which ones I feel are worth it. I'm just using a few posts to point out that you aren't going back to the office because its suddenly a magical place free from risk, its just a risk you are willing to take and try to mitigate the best you can. Its called getting on with your life.

Let's start with 2 basic questions, just as an example. 1. How are each of the 15 of you going to get into the building? Do you have 15 separate entrances? Did you hire someone to wipe down the entrance after every person? 2. Should we talk about what happens when you have to go to the bathroom? Obviously there's more, but those should tide your brain over for a little bit. We have 5,000 sq ft for 11 of us, and that reality hit us. Its a good thing that this isn't quite as contagious and deadly as the movies.

Its impossible to go back to the office and be "safe." All you can do is try to avoid obviously dumb poo.

I honestly believe this will have a lasting effect on millions of people. I don't think this will be one of those things that's forgotten completely 6 months from now. Now, I don't see it being totally life altering...but there are some habits and thoughts that will go thru millions of peoples heads going forward, even if its subtle.

That's what I would picture.

I'm wondering how much of the online stuff will become "the new normal" going forward. Be it school, work, etc.

The New York cases originated from Europe, after the European cases originated from China. The Washington cases originated from China.

Didn't a house committee vote to try to overturn Trump's travel ban? That didn't age well either.
-
I love how you always preface your political opinions with "politics aside..."
-
I think relaxing the red tape is going to be one of the biggest factors in allowing us to get something quicker than "normal."

They are doing an excellent job and I've grown alot of respect for the governor of California thru this. He is the governor of a state with a mass media market thats getting hit with a sledgehammer vs other states and they get to pit him vs the President of the United States. I wouldn't attempt to put much more meaningful thought into it than that.

I get mine from Speedway, its closer to me. They sell it in the little dispenser in the men's restroom.

I am not so sure this is true. The NBA for example said they had an "out" from paying players because games were cancelled. They paid them to start April but could trigger it with the next paychecks due...from what they are saying. I am sure the NBA isn't the only league with that language in their CBA.

We could come up with something that is 100% effective against COVID 19 tomorrow and when we put people back out there, some will die. That's life. "Beware a man's opinion that costs him nothing." Scientists can tell us what something is and what it does. When it comes to what we should do about it, that's a different story. Where I'm at we definitely are not at capacity, but they are preparing for it all the same. Right now New York appears to be an outlier in the US. We'll see.

Do you have a clue what conversation you just jumped in, or are you talking just to talk at this point?

I didn't say anything about "get rich quick," that's on you. But there's plenty of money to be made right now, and I'm sorry you weren't taught how to go make it. But have fun "socking it away."
-
This is the mentality that separates the eternally broke from those that accumulate wealth. There is a ton of money to be made right now. Just don't be mad at those that make it, instead of "socking it away."
-
A ton of money was lost, that's for sure. But a ton of money was made, and will be made as well. My opinion is that a lot of publicly traded companies are going to accelerate losses on their reports, making things look even worse than they were. But that will help their reports going forward.

Don’t fall into the trap of getting on the defensive. He can either debate his viewpoint vs yours on the merits or he can’t. You are giving him an easy out.

Are we the worst per capita? Asking for me. and Happy Easter, for real.

That's awesome. Will you promise that China and Europe will start taking on these endless wars now too? You know, the ones that people say they hate until Trump tries to pull back US troops? Thanks in advance.

Part of the problem is the lines are blurred. You have experts out there calling it like they see it, but then you have other legit experts playing politics with it. Its hard to tell the difference sometimes.

Very well said and I agree. People have gotten so "all or nothing" when it comes to anything even remotely political that you either believe every single thing that's being said or nothing. There is no in-between. Its silly.
