Peak Darnold was 3,000 yards with 19 TDs and 13 INTs. Darnold sucks. The last QB to win OROY had 4,300 yards with 31 TDs and 10 INTs.

I was pretty sure Anderson was going to be drafted early, but I agree with Simms that Anderson isn't as good of a prospect as he was built up to be. I think if the Cardinals scheme him to the QB he will put up good numbers. But if they expect him to beat tackles on his own week in and week out, they are going to be disappointed.

So as long as he's better than Sam Darnold, that's okay with you? Yeah, we are definitely on different planets.

He went to Mater Dei and Alabama. He hasn't exactly been slumming it in obscurity. He has had a nice football career so far. None of that matters now. He needs to put on a show for a new fanbase that didn't go to Mater Dei or Alabama.

I actually find it weird when people stop thinking or talking about a player the second he leaves the building. Clark is still available. These days he seems to be hitting QBs instead of sacking them.

I am not a fan of throwing rookies into the starting role day 1 but I trust Reich and McCown. Having guys who have been thru the NFL fire will be a huge help to them on game day. They will be able to help him on the fly in a way that guys who haven't played the position at that level can not.

You can do the Samsung thing without it being the name of the stadium. There are lots of partnership opportunities associated with a team. The Ford's own the Detroit Lions and the stadium is Ford Field. The Cowboys practice facility is sponsored by Ford. Arrowhead stadium has a Ford Fan Zone and ford Tailgate District.

Clearly there is something "off" about Yannick that we can't see as fans. There is something behind the scenes that runs thin with teams in a hurry and they move on. I have no idea what it is, but its something. The Jaguars tagged him but traded him for a 2nd and a 5th to the Vikings. Yannick had to take a paycut to facilitate the trade. After only 6 games the Vikings had enough and traded him to the Ravens for a 3rd rounder. At the end of the season the Ravens did not resign him and he moved on to the Raiders on a 2 year contract. After only 1 year the Raiders had enough and traded him to the Colts. The Colts have chosen not to resign him so he is a free agent.

Which team ‘won’ round 1 and which team ‘bombed’
Wes21 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn were in New Orleans when the Saints drafted Alvin Kamara. I am sure the familiar style of Gibbs played a part in why the Lions fell in love with him. -
His game film is also low hanging fruit. I think its bananas, with the peel still on!

NFLPA: Field at Carolina in Week 16 maxed out the hardness scale

Green Bay has a really sweet underfield heating system. Alot of cold weather stadiums have it now, including the Chiefs. -
Torrence has been built up to be something that he is not. If we want a top notch guard I think the kid out of TCU (Avila) is the way to go.
-
We can talk about his game film if you would prefer. You won't like the results.
-
They even brought in a young kid from New York and let him play QB. Very sweet gesture.

First - its the predraft process. People make a "big deal" about a guys arms being 3/4" shorter than some other guys arms. LOL Second - I would imagine its hard to be around the beasts that play defense in the NFL on a daily basis and not have some level of fear of what they could do to someone Bryce's size.
-
Bryce has the arm strength to make NFL throws. That's not an issue. Where he is going to get into trouble IMO is if he tries to keep his scrambling style and off platform throws. He doesn't have the zip on those balls that work in the NFL.
-
Anticipation is a good thing. Stroud does it as well. Every QB in the NFL needs some level of anticipation to succeed in the league. You can't just wait for guys to get open and THEN try to throw it. NFL QBs have to throw to a spot and trust their guy to win the route.

JSN was out with a hamstring this year. He had 5 total catches for the season.

This feels like when my wife picks a team to win a game based on how pretty their jersey's are.

A rookie with 4 posts staunchly supports Bryce Young. That is very on brand as well. I am guessing another newer poster will quote and co-sign your post in 3...2...1...

Ben Johnson said that Jared Goff allows him to be more aggressive with his playcalling because if he calls a play that is doomed, Goff will skip it to a receivers feet and go back to the huddle. Ben can simply say "my bad" and they move on. He said he doesn't have to mitigate risk because the QB does it for him, and gets him out of bad playcalls without turnovers and big sacks.

I think there are a couple of different angles here. One is of course pleasing Amazon. But the NFL is interesting in how it conducts its business and what thought balloons it throws out there. This includes the fact that they will sometimes throw out something more extreme to get people riled up about, so that something else seems more palatable than it would on its own. Now that they have people thinking about how awful Thursday flex scheduling could be, the fact that they are going to start flexing Monday Night games in 2023 seems tame by comparison.
