I'm guessing he's a big Tech 9 fan.

The Panthers are expected to sign Ameer Abdullah

Not really. His only halfway decent year was way back in 2015. He got hurt in 2016. In 2017 he came back and rushed for 3.3 yards per carry. Then he got cut at the beginning of 2018. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AbduAm00.htm -
Bridgewater(2020) vs. Darnold(2021) through 6 games.

The problem with Teddy is bigger. It reminds me of Sam Bradford, and its why I call Teddy a poor man's Sam Bradford. There was a point in Sam's career where him and his agent realized he was getting paid based on his efficiency stats. That's when he taylored his play towards those metrics. Teddy is doing the same thing. If you look close, he will take some sacks...particularly in the redzone...that absolutely hurt his team. But do you know what it didn't hurt? His efficiency stats. He didn't force it into coverage and get an INT. He didn't throw it away like he should have and bring his completion percentage down. He took the sack and changed a TD drive into a field goal...or a field goal drive to a punt. THAT is why starting Teddy Two Gloves is a fool's errand. He knows where his bread is buttered. -

They also discount the idea that QBs can grow over time. Matt Stafford wasn't the Matt Stafford people know today until year 6 when Jim Caldwell came in and "fixed him." Then it was year 7 when the year 6 work became apparent. -

The 6 game snapshot doesn't tell the story of Teddy Two Gloves in 2020. It was the high water mark for Teddy and it was all downhill from there. If Darnold only wins 1 more game for the rest of the season...he should get his walking papers just like Teddy. -

So if Sam can win 1 more game for the entire rest of the season...he will match Teddy's win total. Sweet! -
Stephon Gilmore is expected to practice with Panthers this week

Is he wearing Darnold's jersey in that pic? -
No more retreads or reclamation projects at QB

Marcus Mariota is not a placeholder. He's a wasted roster spot. The guy is so brittle he literally came in for 1 play and ended up on IR. In 2020 he went on IR before playing a single regular season game. -
That's it. Tepper, Sign Cam or Trade for Watson.
Wes21 replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't want to sign Cam but trading for Watson is something I've never given up hope on. If I have to tickle his sack during a massage to get him to agree to the trade, that's just what I will have to do. -
This has to be said: Cam Newton is vaccinated and available
Wes21 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I love Cam but I kind of gave up on him when he said identifying the Mike linebacker was new to him in New England and its something only a few teams in the NFL have the QB do. -
Ronald McDonald Rivera set this franchise back

We like Sam Newton. Does that count? -
He makes sure his people don't have to work longer than 12 hours at a time.

I work with a guy who was a part of building Yankee stadium. His chest puffs up a little bit whenever he talks about it. Cool stuff.

I'm in construction and I make 6 figures. Maybe you are doing it wrong?
-
He works in pretty much the opposite of construction. LOL

At this point in my life...I have to say Vikings fans are the best fans I've encountered in the NFL. That's if you take every interaction and kind of throw my limited orbit together and call it "the fans." Vikings fans are the best. I once found myself on a patio full of Vikings fans at Buffalo Wild Wings. Even while beating them in a heart breaking come from behind victory while wearing the opposing teams jersey, they were still good fans.

So Gilmore dropped a "I bumped into Jaycee Horn" reference in his press conference? Niiiice!

Fractions of a second are what separate the quickest throwing teams from the slowest. And fractions of a second are what separate the best pass rushing teams in terms of time per pass allowed vs the worst pass rushing teams. As an offense or a defense you don't want to be anywhere near 3 seconds on either side of the ball. You don't want your QB taking an average of 3 seconds and you don't want you defense allowing an average of 3 seconds.

We have the 3rd most dead cap, and alot more than most teams. The Lions have $10M more than us! The Eagles have slightly more. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space/

Fitterer better be on the phone with the Packers.
Wes21 replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wouldn't trust a former Packer and I definitely don't trust former lineman of the Packers. What we just experienced with the Cowboys offensive line is an every week occurrence in Packer land. When TJ Lang went from the Packers to the Lions he started getting holding calls thrown on him. He flat out said "I've been doing that my entire career and never got called for it." Welcome to the NFL bud...not Rainbow Land. -
Go ahead and make a push now. Giving up multiple 1st round picks in a trade for a player isn't a good move...but short of that is fair game. Some teams complain that their window was too short. They complain it was "only" X number of years. They don't realize how many other teams never see a "window." They never get one or they only blindly take shots at one. The window is open for us. Whether its a slight breeze or something more is up to you. But its open. This is not the time for a 5 year plan.

Until I picked their brains and watched them take reps at the position...I have no idea. Everything about my "traits" screamed corner when I played...but my instincts and natural tendencies were pure safety. But I love the concept. Glover Quin was a heck of a safety in his time. And he was a converted corner. He had the right mindset.
