He would have to sign with the Pats to have played for cheatahs

Until something changes, I'd rather have their QB situation. Andy Dalton did have a funny line in a Will Ferrell movie though.

Are they ready to contend for a Super Bowl in 2027?
-
They are spending the same $35M. They are just doing it earlier. Which helps Watson NOW, not in 2027.

There are 3 ways to be exempt from being forced to do Hard Knocks (any team can volunteer): New Head Coach - this gives a team a 1 year exemption Make the Playoffs - this gives a team a 2 year exemption Appear on Hard Knocks - this gives a team a 10 year exemption The 4 teams who qualify to be forced to do it this year are the Jets, Bears, Commanders and Saints. I think its a slam dunk to be the Jets.

Its not a zero sum game. Its just set up to look that way. He certainly didn't do that. You just started typing without even attempting to read and understand what he said. You already missed the mark on the zero sum game nonsense. You don't get to decide what his value is. Take the tag off and let the free market decide.

My concern is the lack of routine, easy plays from Young. Watching him live I guess I always assumed there was tons of film available of routine plays with timing and accuracy, and the ability to scramble around and buy time while looking downfield was a bonus. The more film I watch the more it seems like scrambling around IS his game. And he needs just as much work taking the easy pass on time as Richardson. Meanwhile CJ Stroud is shooting fish in a barrel every game. Looking at these prospects in hindsight instead of live is eye opening. I guess I should have realized there was a red flag when people were making comments that Alabama sucked so bad it was like Bryce was playing with Wofford against SEC teams every week. No, Bryce just made it look like that.

He made alot of guys look silly...as a pass blocker? I'm not talking about running the ball. And Anderson had a running start.

Bijan Robinson also single handedly stopped Anderson dead in his tracks. I have a feeling Anderson is not going to be what people want him to be.

Anthony Ricardson Board Work with Steve Mariucci

The #1 rule of talking about AR15, is to not call him AR15. -
I feel like I am going to be picking on Bryce Young all the way up until draft day. With a little perspective and hindsight, the guy is not who I thought he was. Here is another play that is part of a long pattern with him. CJ Stroud would have hit this receiver for an easy completion and people would be talking about how CJ is lucky to throw to receivers who are always open by 4 yards. Bryce actually takes off running on this play!!! WTF?

What Veteran QB Do We Sign to Mentor the Rookie QB?

There isn't a single team in the NFL that he can sign with right now that can guarantee him the starting job. -
What Veteran QB Do We Sign to Mentor the Rookie QB?

Jimmy G is about to be 32 years old and has a long injury history. No matter where he goes he's not the franchise savior. -
Maybe DJ should change his name to something like Chosen or Traded.

Young vs Stroud with links to their passing plays in 2022 games
Wes21 replied to panther4life's topic in Carolina Panthers
Here is a short visual representation of what I keep seeing show up on film. These are not isolated plays. Both seem to be part of a pattern that keeps coming up. I chose the Utah State game for Bryce Young because I wanted to remove the talent excuse. The one with Young needs no explanation. Missing the open receivers seems obvious. Its like he's not even interested in working the natural playcall and waits until a rusher finally breaks loose. Then he dodges the defender and throws a hero ball to a covered receiver towards the sideline. For CJ Stroud I chose a play that shows up on his film but doesn't show up much on Bryce's film. At full speed it just looked like the receiver broke open and CJ made a nice, easy, open pass in the hole. But if you freeze frame it you see that CJ committed to that receiver before he broke open, and threw him into the open spot with anticipation and timing. Bryce doesn't really do that. Bryce would have danced around for another 3 seconds and declared that noone was open. -
Young vs Stroud with links to their passing plays in 2022 games
Wes21 replied to panther4life's topic in Carolina Panthers
The more I go back and watch these guys the more I think Stroud makes things look easier than they really are, while Young has a knack for making routine plays look harder than they should. And as much as I like watching Young make something happen on the scramble drill, the kid seems to default to that instead of working within the structure of the original play design. -
He definitely felt like he could easily coach Bryce and CJ. So I love that. It seemed like he feels he could jump directly into the finer points of QB play with Bryce while the only real fundamental problem he would have to fix with CJ is keeping 2 hands on the ball.

Don't forget big Sam Adams!

I thought it was a smart move for both teams. As fans we only see the big trades where teams get a fortune for waiting until the last minute. But we don't see all of the deals that never happened because a team held out until the last minute and only got crickets.

Chicago has never had a WR as good as DJ Moore
Wes21 replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
Here's a little nugget... ...the Chicago Bears have never had a 4,000 yard passer. Jay Cutler holds the season record with 3,812. -
That's literally one of the reasons he dropped in the draft. The 49ers were deciding between Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers with the #1 overall pick. After meeting Rodgers the choice became clear it wouldn't be him, because he came off as an arrogant dik and they couldn't see a guy like that leading the franchise. That's from Mike Nolan (head coach back then) and Mike McCarthy (the OC at the time for the 49ers). "The other thing as Alex at the time was a good kid -- a very good person, a safe choice, always trying to please," former 49ers coach Mike Nolan said Tuesday morning on NFL HQ. "On the other hand, Aaron was very cocky, very confident, arrogant." https://www.nfl.com/news/nolan-explains-taking-alex-smith-over-aaron-rodgers-0ap3000000656167

I once paid $700 for a gallon of ice cream. I felt ripped off. But then another paycheck hit my account. Yes, suckers! I actually got the ice cream for FREE!
