Can you give us a list of reasons why you think lists are stupid?

I think this is the case. Everytime he walked into the QB room they greeted him like this:

LaFluer is such an epic playcaller that the team is literally terrified he might have to call plays for a 2nd year 1st round pick.

Let's talk the business of broadcast / cable / satellite / streaming TV
Wes21 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Huddle Lounge
I have COX Cable and its actually not that simple. I can only access X number of channels "on the go." For channels like NFL Network, ABC, NBC, CBS and a bunch of others they don't allow me to go thru my COX mobile app if I'm not literally connected to my home wi-fi. What they do is force me to go thru the channels specific app, and input my COX Cable info. So let's say I'm out on a fall Saturday and I want to flip back and forth between a Notre Dame college football game, a South Carolina football game and I want to watch a little NFL Network for previews of the upcoming matchups for tomorrow (Sunday). At home this is no problem. Out of the house is a different story. It means I have to individually make sure I have the particular app that each one of the events is playing on and download it. Sometimes you even have to be dialed in and know its on NBC Sports and not regular NBC, or vice versa. So I would have to go into the NBC app to watch some Notre Dame...then at the commercial break get out of that app and pull up the one for the South Carolina game, find the link for the game and wait for it to buffer...then when I want to change from that channel and go to NFL Network I have to get out of the app with the SC game and open the NFL app, find the link to what I want and wait for that to buffer. If that's on commercial break or the segment is boring...I have to get all the way out of it and reboot the NBC app all over again, find the link to the game and wait for it to buffer. And its all due to "licensing agreements." That needs to be fixed pronto. So I have cable. I've always had cable so I'm still one of the holdouts that does something just because that's the way its always been done. But I also have these services. Netflix HBO Max ESPN+ Disney+ Amazon Prime I have prime because I use Amazon regularly and it comes with it. I actually find it to be pretty decent overall. I have Disney+ for my daughter so she can watch it easily on her iPad, but I'm going to cancel once the current "special" runs out. I have Netflix because I love it. I have ESPN+ for the UFC fights but admit I would probably like it more if I'd give it a chance. HBO Max comes with our cable subscription. I will gladly cut the cord in the future. The biggest "issue" I had with cutting the cord in the past has been the thought of giving up live sports. That no longer appears to be the case. -
I'm pretty sure that's how Pete used to teach them gang tackling

NFL Sunday Ticket’s last season (with DirectTV)
Wes21 replied to onmyown's topic in Carolina Panthers
The first few years I paid full price to stream it but the last couple of years I have done the student thing. I don't even have to go thru the sign up process again, they automatically renew me. I just used my regular email though, I didn't use a college email. -
NFL Sunday Ticket’s last season (with DirectTV)

This was why I left Comcast for DirecTV out of spite. I was paying nearly $200/month for cable and internet thru Comcast. I dealt with this for 3 years until I finally had enough after talking to people and realizing I was the only one paying that much money for Comcast. I called and got the worst customer retention manager in history. He didn't try to help out my bill, he spent over 30 minutes trying to convince me that the deal I was getting was spectacular. Dude, how stupid do you think I am? Anyways, after not being able to get that guy to budge I immediately called and ordred DTV. I waited until the technician from DTV literally confirmed my service was up and running to call Comcast to tell them to kiss my butt. They forward me to customer retention and the chick gives me a sweet deal to stay. I told her it was already too late and this was not a negotiation. Then I explained what happened with my last call about a week prior. She apologized and said that even as an existing customer they are authorized to give me new customer deals every 6 to 12 months, and she was baffled that a 3 year customer was given the run around. -

You have had the ability to stream NFL Sunday Ticket without having DirecTV for years. Comcast pissed me off so bad I went to DTV back around 2009. I had it and Sunday Ticket up thru 2016. Since then I've been with other providers and stream Sunday Ticket on my iPad and thru my Playstation to my TV. -
I remember one of my favorite radio hosts picked us to win in the week leading up to the game. But when he did his GameDay pregame show he switched it to the Broncos at the last minute. He said when you were down on the field and around both teams you could just tell which team was more prepared for the moment (Broncos) and that's why he switched.

Was Ryan the one that taught Watson to get massages after practice?

I visited my parents this weekend and noticed my dad's little SUV was missing. Turns out he sold it. He was just checking out cars and they offered him $3k less than what he originally paid for it 3 years ago. He couldn't clean it out and turn it over fast enough.

How many pancakes fit into a doghouse? None! Because ice cream doesn't have doors.

The studies and data suggested that there was a break in period and other factors involved with new helmets. So according to the committees, it was deemed "safer" to have 1 broken in helmet over the course of an entire season than having new helmets introduced periodically thru the year. However colleges change helmets all the time. And the results have been at least partially contradictory to what the safety comittees told the NFL.
-
It was put in place when all of the safety and concussion stuff was going on. There were some safety advisory committees that made the recommendation to the NFL, and the NFL implemented it.

It's kind of like when EMO looks went mainstream and could be picked up in a department store.

OTC. And it's just because it's the first one I started using so I have it saved as a favorite. I never tried to compare them.

Every team is "eligible." But if no team volunteers to do it, the NFL can force a team to do it. They said to eliminate yourself from being forced to do it, you either need to have a 1st year head coach or have made the playoffs in one of the last couple of years.

I definitely understand that the rumor grew legs. But it was always BS, and alot of people knew it from the start and maintained it thru the entire process. I think the timing of everything pretty much told the story here. Lynch was on the road when the trade was announced, or so it appeared. Noone "overheard" some secret conversation or discussion, which is how alot of rumors are painted. "Sources close to the situation" could be anybody within an earshot of a conversation. However with this one you either have to believe that Lynch picked up the phone to tell a media buddy that "oh yeah, I just made a move for Mac Jones" or when a media guy called Lynch immediately after the trade Lynch said "oh yeah, that move was definitely for Mac Jones." And if either one of those scenario's was true...obviously they are blowing smoke up someone's butt because teams don't tend to do that. In the end it was always BS and lots of people knew it from the start. There was no benefit to them giving up their real "target" for that spot...so they either put out a BS name or allowed a BS name to float out there.
-
IMO there was no grand strategy. The trade basically went down during Wilson's pro day and the 49ers were there. IMO around that time they decided they had at least 3 QB options they would be perfectly happy with. But if they stayed at 12 they wouldn't have a seat at the table. They basically said that word for word after the trade. For future reference the Mac Jones rumors came out WAY too soon after the trade. They were basically instant. Which basically means someone ran with a random story or Lynch literally hung up the phone to confirm the trade and then instantly dialed a media person to say "hey, we just made a trade and it was definitely for Mac Jones." Either way it was BS.
