  1. To me the first game is like the movie Gladiator where the gates are about to open but you have no idea what's coming out. I think rookies should sit the first game...or have a more specific role in the 1st game. Put vets out there who can quickly figure out what the other team is doing and adjust on the fly. Once you get further into the season and have a little bit of film on teams you can start throwing more rookies into the mix. Barry Sanders didn't start his first game. It's okay.
  2. Mac Jones was wearing Rob Ninkovich's #50 jersey at practice. Are we really supposed to accept him as unbiased?
  3. I will take the Jets game and if they are already spoken for I will take the Saints the following week. Let me know. Thanks.
  4. Santonio Holmes proved that if you don't want to play you don't HAVE to play. Just say its your back or your hamstring or something that can't be directly verified. Problem solved.
  5. So was Sam Darnold the little kid in that commercial?
  6. Ironically the guys who are getting cut need more practice at football, not less.
  7. They had to settle for Brees when Jimmy Clausen turned them down. But the truth is he tried to call them back to accept the job, but the call got intercepted.
  8. I just passed by Steve Smith in the Charlotte Airport a few minutes ago. It's funny as he was walking by all the guys he passed snapped their heads around like seeing a hot chick and you could see most of us mumbling "wait, isn't that Steve Smith?" LOL
  9. I was in college in the Napster days. I had my mom's old work computer. It had a memory upgrade to 0.98 GB of storage. LOL I could only hold a limited number of songs at a time. I also remember the dial up internet was so slow we would cue up 5 or so songs before going to bed so that they would be downloaded by morning. Waking up to an error message was so deflating. And so was someone mislabeling a file so you didn't download what you thought you did.
  10. They can get pretty much every DTV current Sunday Ticket subscriber plus add more people if they put it on a service that anyone can buy on the internet without the "need" to subscribe to a separate service on top of it. The problem is the NFL realizes it makes more money by being the wholesaler selling to a middle man who's trying to sell mattresses on top of selling NFL games.
  11. I remember that year. Kelly Holcomb started 2 games and set the world on fire with like 400 yards and 4 TDs in each game (or something like that). It started a big QB controversy with Tim Couch.
  12. So basically you are saying that as long as Minshew starts the season, there's no possible way to credit Lawrence regardless. You have shoe horned yourself into a self fulfilling prophecy that's impossible to break. You just keep applying more and more things to the equation. "Well did Lawrence get there the next year? Was Lawrence really the sole reason for those wins? He got hurt for 3 weeks so he technically didn't start the entire season did he?"
  13. Kap was in his 2nd year in Harbaugh's 2nd year. Nick Foles was in his 2nd year in Chip Kelly's 1st year (when they went to the playoffs).
  14. Binge watching definitely helps when it comes to certain shows. I've binge watched a few shows where I came away thinking there is no way I would have been able to keep up with all of the details if I had watched it spread out.
  15. Many years ago I bumped into Herman Moore late at night at a Wal-Mart. He was visiting family, and its the same town that Ferrell Edmunds is from (former NFL TE who's the father of the Edmunds brothers). He was walking out the door in front of me with a big fan under one arm and a video game system under the other. I could have swore it was Ferrell. Then he turned around to me and said "what's up big guy." I'm like "holy poo that's Herman Moore!" Up until that point it never sunk in how big Herman Moore was relative to "normal" sized people. I thought he was a dang NFL TE! I saw Randy Moss once passing thru the Denver airport. He didn't even acknowledge me. I understand I was part of a crowd of people 15 feet away but still. LOL
  16. Brown and Gross-Matus tackles are going to go up because they will be wrecking shop at and behind the line of scrimmage. So even if Chinn stayed in the same position his tackle numbers would go down because the guys will already be tackled.
  17. For me I see a pattern of guys who can actually perform in Pittsburgh under Tomlin but without the Steelers and Tomlin when they leave...they lose their minds. Antonio Brown is a name that comes up. AB has always been a headcase. He didn't end up at Central Michigan because he was an overlooked recruit. That was not the case. He was a headcase with academic issues. He then went thru a series of schools with a series of incidents before he got to CMU. The Steelers brought him in and kept him on the field and productive for the better part of 9 years before he finally cracked. Brown's history suggest that some teams would have had a problem right away (see Titus Young) while other teams wouldn't have gotten that many good years out of him before he snapped.
  18. Bell said something and got flamed online. In return he throws out a very vague "you don't know what Andy said to me" super top secret response. I'm going to say that as long as Bell wants to keep what was said super duper G14 classified...I will consider him full of poo. Which leads back to what the Honey Badger said. Some guys just like to blame others for their lack of success.
  19. Are you being serious or are you responding to the joke with a joke?
  20. I can see it now. Darnold is going to drop back to pass in a key game situation. A huge hole is going to open up in front of him to take off for a 1st down to ice the game. He's just going to stand there and get sacked. We lose. After the game he's asked about it and Sam says "we didn't practice running."
