To be fair, Kenny Pickett knew the right answers but the pencil kept slipping out of his tiny hands.

I would love to say its just a silly rumor. But any staff dumb enough to trade a premium pick for Sam Darnold is dumb enough to trade for Baker Mayfield.

Would Justin Fields have worn #1 if he was selected by Carolina?
Wes21 replied to Cam's New Arm's topic in Carolina Panthers
A little known fact is that Tom Brady wanted to sign with us instead of Tampa. But since he wears #12, we didn't want to create any friction with DJ Moore. So we passed. -
Moving the chains may be eliminated soon.

The Packers benefit from this little crap alot. A few times a game they can be a little short of the first down and the refs just give it to them. And of course the opposite happens to the other team. There is a laundry list of "little things" that happen over the course of a Packers game that give them the overall advantage. -
Doing coke would allow someone to drink alot and still be sharp. Adderall is basically gubmint regulated coke.

Sammy Watkins said something similar about his experience in Buffalo. He said he would drink all night and show up the next day to practice still drunk. That was a daily occurence.

I think we should vote to make you a billionaire. That's the only way we can find out.

"He'll probably go somewhere else and win a Super Bowl"
Wes21 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's averaged over $500k a year for close to a decade. -
LITERALLY though. I never knew so much about bad player evaluation until Matt Millen came along. Just watching his decision making and why each guy didn't work out was eye opening and enlightening.

I love the Antoine Bethea story the way Bill Polian tells it. He said he was going thru film of prospects when he came across Bethea. He wasn't sure whether he should look at him as a safety or a corner in Dungy's defense, so he took the film to Dungy. After seeing the kid play Dungy asked Bill if other people had seen the tape. Bill said NO, just him and Dungy. Tony told Bill to draft the kid, and not to discuss it with anyone for fear of the "secret" getting out. They end up drafting Bethea, with the idea that he will begin his career at safety and as he gains experience he will move to corner. In one of his first practices at safety he gets 2 picks. After the second pick Dungy turns to Bill and says "I guess we are leaving him at safety."

Holy cow, I guess I didn't let that one sink in. And he was on IR. I'm speechless.

I believe the last longsnapper drafted, was when the Detroit Lions took one from Baylor. https://www.nfl.com/news/long-snapper-jimmy-landes-shocked-he-got-drafted-0ap3000000659331 Baylor long-snapper Jimmy Landes was more surprised than just about anyone that the Detroit Lions decided to spend a sixth-round pick on him. "I was very surprised," Landes told MLive.com. "I was expecting free agency, just because I know how rare long snappers get drafted. I wasn't expecting anything in the draft." Landes was the only long-snapper invited to the combine and, according to the MLive piece, is one of four true long-snappers to ever be drafted.

Johnny Hekker to Carolina per Schefter
Wes21 replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rhule has a minimum shoe size for punters and Hekker passed the test -
I think Gardner Minshew's biggest issue is that he wasn't a high draft pick. Some guys get type casted as something less than what they are based on draft position. If Gardner were a 1st round or early pick, people would be taking notice of how well he's played when he's gotten a shot. Meanwhile guys like Sam Darnold play like poop and teams want more of it.

What's interesting to me is that if we don't trade for Watson, we can easily grab a good LT in the draft. But if we trade for Watson, we need to go hard after a LT in free agency.

Our coach, offensive line and defense all have proper arm length for their positions. That has to count for something.
