The Army game is interesting, that was a very historic rivalry long ago that hasn't been played very much recently. Most famous for the "Game of the Century". So they technically have 4 rivalry games on the schedule this year which is pretty crazy.

Good on ND for continuing to schedule their historic rivals even at the cost of their own SOS. One of the few programs in CFB with a measure of integrity and backbone these days.

The wins last year were both dumb luck. We led for no time in the 4th quarter all season. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we won the same amount or less games this season.

We mainly agree then. Though I don't think Reid was a better coach than Bill. Regarding the division, I don't think the AFC West has been much better than the AFC East was early on. You had the Chargers a few years ago I suppose but those teams never really went anywhere. Not much different from the 00s Dolphins in that respect. That one Raiders fluke run which could be likened to the 01 Jets. Besides that the AFCW has pretty much been all Chiefs since the game that shall not be named.

The people who swing between one extreme and another like this are in the wrong regardless of what "side" they take. Both were integral and without either of them they win a lot less than they did. Bill having a rough few last years because of his shortcomings as a GM doesn't change that. It takes extreme recency bias to downplay how legendary of a coach BB was. They absolutely do not win in 2018 or 2001 without Bill. Not even factoring in how differently the season's would probably go without one of the better defensive minds of all time coaching the defense. Which could result in seeding changes and the Patriots drawing different matchups. For all we know Brady could've ended up having a similar career to Rodgers without the great defenses he was blessed with over the years.

The pick 6 was great of course. But maybe my favorite part of that sequence was after he scored. It went to commercial break then the first play back Luke got another pick immediately. That game felt great after being billed as underdogs to a 3-7 team because of the hype over Romo coming back.

Oh no, I just meant recently (last 5 or so years). Of course there were plenty of better plays in the Cam Era. The week 6 game winner against Seattle that year was one of my favorite Panther moments ever. Cam diving over the pile in the NFCCG. The somersault TD against Houston. The back to back INTs by Luke against Dallas. Ah man, 2015 truly felt like a dream. Till the ending of course. But every season from 2011 to 2018 had it's share of great moments.

Just now I was watching that fluky 88 yard touchdown from St Pierre to Gettis against Baltimore in the 2010 game. Honestly can't remember the last time a play that exciting has happened here. I guess maybe the Cam return but I think we all knew deep inside that it wasn't going to last. That it was just a fleeting feeling. But that TD... the crowd sounded so lively compared to it's (rightfully) nonexistent state today. It was a hell of a play. Then something dawned on me. Good god. I'm feeling nostalgic for 2010. When that realization hit... all I could think to myself was "damn."

Highly doubt it. The Saints got the calls for the first 3 quarters of that game. More specifically this blatant facemask that wasn't called on Jared Goff (Timestamped). They get that flag and it's 1st and goal at the 1 with Todd Gurley in the backfield. 4 point swing in all likelihood. The whole "Saints got robbed!" narrative in 2018 is a crock of poo. Brees just failed to deliver in the clutch like usual. Made more laughable when you consider this is the same team that benefitted from outlandish officiating in the 2009 NFC Title game. They've no right to complain about anything after that even assuming their complaints were legitimate and not just a fanbase whining over losing.

Definitely, but considering all the injuries Duke dealt with last year (with Mitchell getting hurt right before the tourney game started), and in 2019, 2017, 2016, could keep going honestly we've had a raw deal in terms of tourney injury luck recently. Plus it was competitive even with Shead in the game, so I aint apologizing lol. I do feel for them though, Houston is a very fun team to watch and it sucks to have that happen in such an important moment. It's so obviously just a ploy to ruin the ACC's reputation so that E$PN's golden goose (the SEC) can pick it apart. Year after year we hear these narratives and they're always proven wrong. Hope to see the ACC continue performing in basketball and football, though at this point an eventual dissolution seems inevitable regardless of on-field/court results sadly.

I don't know where all this fight came from. All year when a game came down to the wire these boys looked like a deer in front of headlights and now they just knocked off the most physical defense in the country in a 40 minute street fight. It's baffling that we STILL suck this hard at drafting receivers in an age where the default offense for lots of high schools and the majority of d1 football are gun heavy spread offenses that utilize 4+ passcatchers. I wasn't exactly bouncing off walls at the hire but honestly I do really appreciate the enthusiasm between this and what he liked the other day. Already much more in that department than Rhule and Reich ever did. The formerjust wanted to put his stamp and "process" (read: gut every last aspect of individuality out at Tepper's behest) on the team while the latter always seemed to just be here for a paycheck. Not holding my breath considering Tepper has contempt for everything that came before him and he ultimately has final say but if he and Morgan can just get this feeling like the Panthers of old I'd be happy regardless of if we suck. Bring back the drum, the tough hard-nosed culture that defined this team and the focus on community and I might not feel so ashamed to call myself a fan as I have since Tepper bought it. Like I said though, not holding my breath. The only thing that having expectations for this team leads to is disappointment.
