halftime adjustments looking good hopefully chubba picks up the speed of the game some throughout the year; he's fast getting ran down pretty uncharacteristically and its not super uncommon for rookies to struggle with conditioning early on
-
wow wtf chubba why didnt you break a 75 yarder with all of that space you didnt have
-
I'm interested to see how our offense looks coming out of the break. Hopefully our coaching staff adjusts to the lack of CMC and looks better in the 2nd half. If not I will be quite worried.

Panthers: 23 Texans: 16 On the road on thursday night, might be a little tougher than some expect. I think we'll jump out to a 20-6 lead at the break and then let it slowly dwindle but hold out similarly to week 1. Hope i'm wrong and we come away with a statement blowout win.

#40 made a phenomenal tackle, that was probably a first. -
Agreed. But, I think it will be a considerable amount more than last season. Not tons, but a fair amount. When you're dealing with a rookie QB in his first start those few extra blitzes can have large ramifications forcing errant throws that turn into picks, fumbles etc. All depends on what Snow draws up of course. I'm interested to see how his defense looks this season. Corey Davis could be a problem for our secondary, guess we'll see how it all shakes out. If Horn plays well in his first start against him on the plays they matchup, it'll be an encouraging sign for him.
-
Oh definitely, You're right about the Herbert statline, I sort of forgot a little bit of that game lols. I don't see why our defense can force a pair of turnovers against Wilson though. It's also worth mentioning that our CBs should be more capable of playing up and pressing instead of the soft zone Snow drew up a lot last season, I'd think it'd open up more blitzes for us and more oppourtunities to get after Wilson. It'll be an ugly week 1 kind of a game, if Williams makes our IOL's day a living hell and their line holds out against our passrush then it'll be close. Especially if they are able to run the ball. I don't see the Jets getting those breaks though.

Panthers win 23-7 or 23-10 It'll come down to if Brady can mitigate the interior OL pressure or not, but even if he only sort of does our offense should be fine. The main worry is definitely Quinnen Williams and the interior, I expect our staff will know this and double him accordingly. They released their starting nickel CB(who wasn't very good in his own right) and are relying on late round rookies to fill the spot; Terrace should eat. Jarrad Davis is out for 5 games and their linebackers are probably even worse than ours with the exception of CJ Mosley, who hasn't played football in 2 years. CMC will do his thing. I expect at least one LOL int from Sam since he nearly threw one against the Steelers' 2s, the Jets may get some of their points off it. Brady needs to exploit their weakness in the secondary and linebacking group by spreading them out with screens and plays that take advantage of our cores' RAC abilities, specifically DJ who should have himself a great game. As for the defense, we should be able to get after Wilson in a similar vein to Herbert in his first start last season. Lots of pressure, might see some actual blitzes as well since we have corners who can play press. I think the Defense will win us this one, not worried about any matchups on this side of the ball. Even if the Jets get great interior pressure and it otherwise wrecks what should ideally be a good offensive day, our defense can keep us in it. I expect it to be a Welcome to the NFL kind of game for Wilson.

Assuming he plays the full year 339/530, 64% CMP% 4216 yards 24 TD and 14 INT I think he'll have a lot of yards relative to his TDs, as I expect to see CMC get less touches but a lot of them probably coming in important situations like on 3rd down and near the goalline as well as a YPC increase.
