  1. We all know why they took so long, and it's not because it was some new situation they'd never been in. It's Vegas. You can't even fathom how much money is tied up in Vegas gambling and the sports betting apps ... and the people and organizations involved in daily betting. I am not siding at all with the NFL mind you, and they will never say that gambling was the reason ... but it was the reason. Sponsors, ratings, etc. are second to all of that too. The NFL is a greedy business but even they aren't as powerful as sports betting is. Just think about this, other than the somewhat meaningless Playoff spots for Buffalo, Cincy, and KC to settle ... the NFL could EASILY just cancel this game. But there is wayyyyyyyyyy too much money tied up in this one game which is why it will more than likely be played tomorrow or Wednesday. Seriously, Vegas is way too powerful. We're talking millions of other peoples dollars that were on the line tonight.
  2. It just goes to show how much gambling/money has ruined pro sports. That's the reason it hasn't been canceled yet obviously.
  3. Game should def be canceled unless they get word "he's going to be ok" in the next five minutes. Just imagine how Vegas and Fantasy/FanDuel will react though if it gets canceled. Tough chit to them of course.
  4. Denver's ownership group makes Tepper look like a homeless man. Harbaugh is probably more interested in green than Lombardi silver.
  5. Wilks, not Wilkes. But you do you, man. If he stays, you can support him through thick and thin. No bashing allowed! If he goes somewhere else, you can follow his career.
  6. Wilks has also proven nothing. Was a failure at Arizona and then got us a handful of wins. Big whoop. I'd expect most NFL coaches could string together a handful of wins. In fact, most do. Tell the room why you like him so much.
  7. It's a perfect analogy. My mother visited me recently and said she likes Wilks because of his Charlotte roots. That's what science calls a "result". Both JR and Armanti were chosen because of their roots. Wilks being local should mean absolutely nothing.
  8. I just want to see a special one-off contest between Ron Rivera and Wilks. Like the Nathan's Hot Dog contest ... but in this case ... who can look the most stoic on the sideline. First person to show emotion loses.
  9. Remember that time the Hornets drafted JR Reid? Remember that time the Panthers drafted Armanti Edwards? You HAVE to take feel good emotions out of hirings/picks.
  10. This turf debate is so tiring. Wake me when 65% of injuries and higher happen on turf and not grass. It's just not the case. At most it's slightly over 50%. Players get injured because football is a rough game and they put massive force and torque on their bodies.
  11. But the Bears have their QB. He could be elite as early as next season. We don't have a QB.
  12. Ron and Wilks ... what is this the mid 2000s? GTFO with that nonsense.
  13. Yeah the best we can get is pick 6 if all goes our way today and next week.
  14. Brady will probably play 1-2 series. They have zero reason to play any starters that game.
  15. The only chance the Aints had for next week was if the Packers lost today ... and they're whipping the Vikings butt. So yeah, next week will be a CLASSIC Panthers Versus NFC South Final Game of the Season With No Hope For Either Team game. Basically like a pre-season game.
  16. Start PJ. That could help us lose by no fault but his own.
  17. The best part of today's loss is that's it will be much easier to trade up with a high pick if that's what we try to do. We'll probably be picking at 6 or 7 if all goes our way. Teams will see that spot much more highly than where we would've picked had we made the Playoffs. Swap first round picks and give them next year's first too, and go for the ultimate gamble at QB. Or, just stick with Sam and Matt ... or trade for Carr and keep on being the same old Panthers. Or, trade away some of those top picks we got for Burns ... oops!
  18. The funny thing is ... some of us have been saying this exact thing ... for weeks and weeks and weeks. Well, funny to me. I was one of those people. Now that some of you and your Exciting January dreams have been smashed ... welcome to reality, guys! Let's hope we LOSE next week. We want to stay at six wins.
  19. He's a GREAT player ... but NOT one of the top tier guys in the NFL. He's right under that tier. We made a massive mistake not getting picks we need for our future for him.
  20. Christ almighty. I checked my Fantasy game for the first time today just now. Didn't even care really as I'm not in the finals. Still locked in starters yesterday though. Anyway, the guy I'm playing has Mike Evans on his team.
