  1. Ok, one final thought for the "no one has won two with a second team" crowd ... McVay - Hasn't had a chance yet Bruce Arians - Hasn't had a chance yet Andy Reid - Hasn't had a chance yet Bill Belichick - Hasn't had a chance yet Doug Pederson - Currently in the Playoffs Gary Kubiak - Hasn't had a chance yet Pete Carroll - Hasn't had a chance yet John Harbaugh - Hasn't had a chance yet Tom Coughlin - Hasn't had a chance yet Mike McCarthy - Currently in the Playoffs Sean Payton - Hasn't has a chance yet Mike Tomlin - Hasn't had a chance yet Tony Dungy - Hasn't had a chance yet Bill Cowher - Hasn't had a chance yet Jon Gruden - FAILED Brian Billick - Hasn't had a chance yet Dick Vermeil - FAILED Mike Shanahan - FAILED Mike Holmgren - FAILED Barry Switzer - Never had a second chance George Seifert - FAILED Jimmy Johnson - FAILED Joe Gibbs - Never had a second chance Bill Parcells - FAILED Bill Walsh - Never had a second chance Mike Ditka - FAILED Tom Flores - FAILED Chuck Noll - Never had a second chance Tom Landry - Never had a second chance John Madden - Never had a second chance Don Shula - Never had a second chance Don McCafferty - FAILED Hank Stram - FAILED Weeb Ewbank - Never had a second chance Vince Lombardi - FAILED So the question is ... would you have considered giving guys like Vince Lombardi, Hank Stram, Don McCafferty, Tom Flores, Mike Ditka, Bill Parcells, Jimmy Johnson, Mike Holmgren, Mike Shanahan, Dick Vermeil, and Jon Gruden a chance to coach your team? Or said ... be gone, retread! Yes, I left George Seifert out of that last paragraph lol.
  2. To be fair though, Mr. Scot ... anyone we bring in comes here with what we have too. So it boils down to who do you think is the better at schemes: Payton, Johnson, or Steichen?
  3. Here's an interesting thought for you ... The statement is that no coach has ever won a SB with two different teams. But how many have won a SB while they've coached for their 2nd or 3rd team? It's sort of like the statement, but in reverse. Ok, a coach won it all, then he went on to another team and couldn't do it again. Well ... some coaches couldn't get to the big dance, changed teams, and then they won. See what I'm saying? Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it won't, like via some sort of evil wizard spell put on the scenario. Because "it" isn't a scientific principal so to speak. It's BS. And I'll say it a third time: how many head coaches have made it to a SB? How many HC have won? Now, how many HC have ever been in the NFL? If you don't like Payton, fine. But don't use this spooky voodoo theory as the reason not to bring in an offensive-minded coach ... which 90% of us want. If we can't get Johnson or Iggles Guy ... may as well bring in a proven dude.
  4. Ok, I ... someone who doesn't think turf is pure evil, will sign your petition ... if you can find me articles covering every team that doesn't play on grass that has their players begging for grass. Good luck in your search.
  5. Why does the Huddle love to harp on the past all the time? He didn't make adjustments, we didn't win the division, we're not in the Playoffs. Who cares about WHAT IF. We have tomorrow to talk about.
  6. And now he's dating a model and sees his kids often and doesn't have to deal with marital BS.
  7. I mean, the game is over but holy CRAP, Mr. Kicker.
  8. Familiarity. We saw first hand what an offensive genius Payton was as he and Brees scorched us all the time. All we knew about MM is that he looks like a creepy pedo and had A-Rod as his QB.
  9. I have an eerie feeling if the Cowpokes win, they'll upset the Eagles. You know, division games never go like you think. Then it'd be up to the 9ers to keep them from the SB. Which would probably happen. But still, let's get them out nowwww. Tommy boy can't take his team all the way at his age. No need to worry about the Bucs.
  10. Like I said in the other thread ... how many head coaches have made it to a SB? How many have won? Now ... how many head coaches have there been in the SB era? Payton is in rare company. It's very hard to get to a SB. That said, I do not want whatever QB is sitting there at #9. I do not want to lose multiple 1sts in order to get Stroud. But I'm ok with losing #9 to get an elite coach. Giving them the 9ers picks is better but I don't see the Aints doing that.
  11. I mean ... wearing your "colors", talking trash to your foe, giving them poo when they're on your turf, backing up your fellow "members", etc. At least NFL fans don't take it as far as soccer hooligans do.
  12. How many head coaches have made it to a SB? How many have won? Now do how many head coaches have there been in the NFL. Sean is in rare company.
  13. Yeah, I've been in BK since 2011. Every year that the Panthers let me down, I'm tempted to look into the Giants but I've held strong so far. I left the Braves for the Yankees which was super easy (and of COURSE the Bravos won it all while my Bombers have not lol). But the Panthers would have to totally poo the bed for me to side with the G-Men.
  14. Had we beaten Brady in the SB, would you guys still hate Brady? Or would he just be some goofy dork like Gronk? I don't mind we lost the SB to him. It was what it was, and if the FO was worth a damn, we should have had more shots at the title. Yes he's prissy, yes he complains, yes he gets his way ... but come on ... we're witnessing history. Wilt, Kareem, MJ, LeBron ... Ruth, Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Bonds ... Montana, Rice, Emmitt, Peyton, Brees, and Brady. We are blessed to get to watch one more.
  15. The only team I've ever quit was the Atlanta Braves.
  16. Yep, you were one of the two I mentioned. Would you just stick to Heels football? Or do you have a backup NFL team?
  17. Moving wouldn't bother me that much because I sort of am in the reverse situation being in New York. They don't come on TV here, they aren't talked about on the radio, and no one else is a fan around me. Yet I still follow them. I could see myself following them no matter where they moved to. But, they ain't moving.
  18. For serious? What team would you have followed? Or, would you had taken a break from the NFL?
  19. Or, in your case ... acting like division rivals is a big deal. It's just a game, not the Bloods and the Crips.
  20. Two posters have said today that they are done with the Panthers if we were to hire Sean Payton. I don't know if I believe they'd actually walk away from being a fan though. So the question is simple ... is there anything the team could realistically do that would make you say bye? I'll always be a fan. However, Jake's meltdown back in the day turned me from a rabid Panthers fan into the calm almost casual fan I am today. I could see myself drop one tier lower though, which probably means not watching every game and not even bothering to know who our starters are. What would that be? HC: Wilks DC: Holcomb OC: McAdoo or Brian Johnson 1st Round Pick: Anthony Richardson What say you, Huddle?
  21. Man, they really let you put ANY size in that comparison chart. Pretty sure I almost broke it when I compared a 6 ft man to a 7000 ft man.
  22. The Bradys. I was around to watch MJ, and I'm honored I got to watch Tom do his thing as well. Who knows when the next GOAT will appear in sports.
