You know how people keep bringing up how that early pick on a QB isn't a guarantee? You know how people keep bringing up how we had an opportunity to draft Fields? The less teams in front of you the better. It's all about the math. The "results" are unknown for every player drafted in every round. You want the widest selection possible without having to trade up. It's quite simple.

Why is this a thread? Yes, he's the best QB on the team. No, he shouldn't be our starter. I think we should all be on that same page. There are like ... maybe two Sam homers on here who actually think he's elite. The PAC is about to be a mess. USC gets in the title game (and with the win deserve the #4 CFP spot), but Utah and Washington can't both go. That's all I'm saying. The four best teams need to be in the CFP. Conferences really made it tough on themselves with adding title games. Now powerhouse teams have a chance of losing their last game of the season.

And you shouldn't be penalized for being in the wrong division. By his logic, if Purdue or whoever upsets Michigan next week, they get into the CFP????? Also, sort of like crap NFL teams that win their division don't deserve the Playoffs. CFP should be the four best teams.

Team A goes 11-0 into the last week. Ranked #1 the entire season Team B goes 11-0 into the last week. Ranked #2 the entire season. Team A and B are in the same conf. and also the same div. Team A and B meet for rivalry week. Winner goes to their conf. title game ... loser can't. Yes, there are actually exceptions. If they were in different divs this year, OSU and MICH would be meeting again next week. It's not that hard. OSU will have one loss after next week. LSU could still lose tonight and next week, USC could still lose tonight and next week, Bama has 2 losses, Clemson has 2 losses, Oregon has 3 losses, and so on and so on. Who the hell would you give the #4 spot to after probably GA, MICH, and TCU?

There are definitely exceptions, but it should be the general rule. But this could be one of those exceptions. It's not their fault the two best teams in the Big 10 are in the same "division".
