Official Panthers at Commies GameDay Thread
Jared Patterson replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Apparently Pat Elflein is Jason Kelce.... Man botches a snap, misses a block and he is on the sidelines pads off like he's easily earned a starting spot when in reality he's not good enough to be a 4th string.... -
Panthers release first depth chart
Jared Patterson replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
This Pat Elflein stuff is insane.... I think everyone in here agrees on that. What does he have on Matt Rhule????? -
But am I wrong or just bother you all b/c deep down you know I am right?
-
Agree with you 1 million percent..... I am terrified Baker plays pretty well and this organization re-signs him....
-
Agreed. And I trust your cap knowledge. Is the spotrac 2023 data accounting our rollover money from this year? Why are we in such a bad cap position next year w/o a QB?
-
Just tired of this regime trying to do the same thing every year with reclamation projects at QB and thinking something will change... I really hope Corral can be the guy. Besides the QB position and the coach; I think we are a very young and talented team.
-
Thats not true. They don't want to go to teams that are ran poorly. Khan and Baalke are as bad as it gets. If you have a young QB to build around and a nice city like Charlotte you can get players on decent salaries. Stafford and Russ wanted nothing to do w Matt Rhule and based on reports coming out of Cleveland players did not like playing with Mayfield, so we def cant get anyone between Mayfield and Rhule.
-
Thats fine, but we don't have to pretend he is a good QB or the Browns would've never had to pay to get rid of him and be desperate enough to pay a sexual predator 200 million guaranteed.
-
Because I wouldn't sign players like Christian Kirk to massive contracts. Their GM and owner are the worst in the league.
-
So I am a dumb ass because I don't think a guy that no team was interested in and his old team had to pay to get rid of him isn't any good? And I have a grad degree from UNC and live on my own at 24 years old at the element uptown... I think I'm a little smarter than you. Grow up.
-
Why they get rid of him then and have to pay a team to do it?
-
If Baker was so good we wouldn't have been the only team interested/desperate enough to trade for him. Also- his old team literally begged and paid us to get rid of him. I know he is slightly better than Darnold and shouldn't be the starter, but he is no where near a franchise QB.
-
B/C I like 9.9/10 people think Baker isn't good?
-
We have different definitions of good then. Just watch that Jaycee Horn video D Hall made yesterday talking about him being a breakout guy. At the end of the video he made fun of us not having a QB and everyone laughed. Another analyst said he's not a top 64 QB in the league. Most people know Baker sucks and that's why we got paid to take him off their hands and no one else was interested.
-
A lot was behind the Jags getting the #1 pick.... That wasnt on Trevor and I would also have triple the amount of money to build the team around the QB. Do you realize even if we wanted to re-sign Baker next year we literally cant? We have the second worst cap situation in the league as of right now w no QB....
-
I would've never signed someone with an obvious ceiling like Teddy Bridgewater (to a MASSIVE contract) and would've tanked only one year and had the choice of T Law, Wilson, Jones, Lance, Fields, etc while having a ton of money to build around them. Also, would've fired Hurney before selecting a head coach. Not that hard.
-
Because he is not any good. QBs like Darnold, Teddy, Mayfield, (post injured Cam), PJ Walker, Will Grier and all the reclamation projects is the worst possible way to run a team. We are the only team in the NFL interested in these type of players. I am sick of it and even if Baker has his best season ever its not like we are winning the division and 8-9 9-8 would just put us in no mans land again, gives Rhule another excuse and we rince and repeat with someone like Daniel Jones the next year. I am praying Corral works out b/c we will likely hurt our chance at another top QB in the draft again.
-
Nope. We just have different definitions of "good." Sorry, I don't consider players like Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield as "good" and you will see in the regular season just how "good they are."
-
Lol. Its that terrible Oline/rushing attack the Browns had and OBJ that made Baker look bad right?
-
BTW both QBs have looked absolutely awful in every single 2 min drill this camp.
-
Baker is pathetic.... Cant believe we actually have two awful QBs still battling. Is this really where we are at?

Albert Breer on Rhule's job security
Jared Patterson replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I truly believe the Sam Darnold move was Tepper and that's why Matt Rhule has this kind of security. -
Dline besides Burns and Brown are bad. LB core is awful, but I do like Brandon Smith.

Ellis Williams write up Day 5. Baker vs Sam
Jared Patterson replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just because Baker looks better than Darnold doesn't mean a lot though, that's my overall point. Baker struggles w pressure severely. Luckily our oline has much improved if Rhule just gets Michael Jordan and Pat Assliein tf out of there. -

Jared Patterson replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes. Was told Mayfield looked good today and you guys know I am not a fan of both. Darnold needs to be moved somehow, someway. No point to still have him on the roster if you traded for another guy and that guy beats him out. Corral has looked plenty good to be the back up this year and Rhule isn't gonna cut his Temple boy.
