If he turns Darnold around he will be in less than a second.

Thats sad. My friend that I trust who is a HUGE Jets fan says he thinks Darnold is a really good back up and below average starter at best. He said he thinks he's about the same as Bridgewater, but he wouldn't call it an upgrade.

Really a big gamble here. We won't have any picks next year to move up in the draft and we will be average with Darnold, so no high draft pick. I guess the plan is to build around Darnold.

So got to think we will still take Lance or Fields if they fall correct? I did notice Fitt said we could trade up or back in the draft which was the opposite of what he said the first time.

That is the exact feeling I got out of the interview today. Seems like we are so desperate. If I had to bet, they are getting a lot of pressure from Tepper, but Idk if this is really the future or this year. Idk, nothing makes sense. Didn't even get the feeling we are confident in Darnold from Scotts interview.

Same here. I know it wasn't a smart move, but it has a chance to turn out okay. All depends on this draft.

So all this Tepper brass balls "an average QB" will get you nowhere, Teddy sucks, we want D. Watson or bust coming from the Panthers..... and we end up with Sam Darnold? Also, I hope you know if Darnold has a decent year, Joe Brady will be bye bye. Do you know what the future plan is?

Idk man a guy literally came to our forum to laugh at us and start a thread. And my Jets friends I know all just say he's okay and maybe he can be slightly above average. That just doesn't excite me. Now if we trade Teddy and draft Lance or Fields I will think we are geniuses

As a guy who negotiates for a living I just don't understand giving up so much. I literally read we were the only ones interested or "bidding" so why in the world do you offer a second? Id start off offering a fourth and wait through the draft (when they would've still traded him after) and go from there.... I just feel like Tepper is waayyyy too jumpy rn. And why not just trade up to 5?

I read an article saying Denver wasn't interested in trading for Darnold. Do you still think their plan is to go all in during the draft?
