Again Nick Richards>Mark Williams and its not that close.

I will be very surprised if he ever gets minutes in the NBA..... lol at the defense is elite comment. Dudes not athletic enough to play in the league. He can only block a few shots in the charge zone in the paint and that's it. Just imagine him guarding a screen and role. We screwed up the trade and the pick was just as bad if not worse.

How did you know . Was more frustrated with not taking Duren/Eason and just how bad the value of the trade was more than anything and taking a lot of that out on Williams, but I truly don't think he will ever be more than a shot blocker/ 8th man off the bench type of guy.

No one... But read the reports, especially the one from Isiah Stewart himself calling him a "freak" and a "bigger me" (Stewart referring to himself). Again, its more of the eye test and what reports/coaches are saying about him. And his all summer league first team nod. There are other guys we missed out on as well like the fella above said (Eason) and many more. The draft was handled horribly by the hornets. I like the second round guy though, but its not like he's going to make the roster.

Worst case scenario for the future of the Panthers is Baker having a good season.... Think about it if you are smart.

Now we are talking.... Icky has potential to be a top 5 tackle in the league in a couple of years and we have been so desperate for a legit LT.

Why is Nick Richards starting over him then? Duren looks better than Isiah Stewart already as a true 18 year old..... Stewart is better than any big on the Hornets by farrrrr

It's not about the stats it's the eye test, the NBA ready strength, the quickness and him being nearly 3 years younger than Williams. The potential is through the roof. Also- Notice all the teams trying to trade for our 13th pick (there were several) all wanted Duren.... People were shocked he was there. Lastly, the NBA is moving away from Centers anyway. Williams has zero chance of guarding a pick n roll.... he is wayyyy to slow and unathletic.

Compare Williams to Isiah Mobley and Nick Richards who is busting him and starting over him in practice, then we can have a conversation.

Again, please don't compare Williams to Duren or Evan Mobley. Thats a totally different tier of basketball players...

Could've had Duren, McGowens and another pick like Eason..... And if you didnt want to pick in the lottery b/c you are to cheap (Jordan) than at least get something formidable back in return. The trade will never make sense.

Who were the big men going against Williams for the Cavs and Lakers? Amar Sylla and Sharfeef Oneal?

My whole point is.... If you think the Hornets are going to make the playoffs or made the right moves at the draft, I want what you are smoking. This team got worse and I would be shocked if Williams is anything but an 8th man rotation player at best throughout his entire career.

When I say top 3 summer league player, I mean rookies that will actually translate to the NBA based on body, size and athleticism not just stats....

They both are huge misses. You guys are just hating on Duren now b/c you cant admit you are wrong. Duren is 18 and already has a nasty NBA body... will develop a shot and would DESTROY Williams with his strength and freaky athleticism. Williams moves wayyyy too slow out there to play against non summer league NBA guys. Looked terrible against freaking Shareef Oneal...

Hahhaha look at my history buddy. Mark my words Duren will be a star. Look up Summer league first teams. He is the Center in every one. Again, just turned 18 youngest player in the draft and has been a star.

All these players calling him a hard worker and great teammate..... Remind you of anyone last year??? None have said he is a great player.

Really disappointed in Williams and Jones right now. I hope at least one can step up and be a top 8 rotation guy one day.

Run defense will be a HUGE problem. Gross Matos will have to step up BIG TIME b/c the only man on the entire team that can stop the run rn is Derrick Brown. Ioannidis can rush the passer pretty well, but really struggles against the run. Guys like Luvu and Haynes cant stop the run at all.

I already said it has nothing to do with Duke and I don't like most of the UNC players coming into the league. My point was you think Williams is better than Duren and Duren has been a top 3 player in the Summer League and Williams isn't any better than Nick Richards and cant even start over him.... Williams is slow and uncoordinated. Imagine real guards putting him in a high screen n roll and taking him away from the basket which is all he's useful for. Duren would start right away for the Hornets and be the second best player on the team barring Bridges. Lets not forget he's two years younger and nearly 3 years younger than Williams. Another dumb Michael Jordan draft pick. (The real reason is Jordan was too cheap to pay a lottery pick and is hoping a Duke guy would sell tickets to dummies like yourself.) At least I went to UNC you are a Duke fan who didn't go there and clearly have no clue what you are talking about.
